- What are the biggest Resident Evil 4 story changes in the RE4 remake? From RE4 cut content to major Resident Evil 4 character changes, to explaining the Resident Evil 4 remake ending and what it could mean for the future of Resident Evil. Here are some of the biggest RE4 story differences we've found so far. Warning: Spoilers ahead!
#IGN #Gaming #ResidentEvil - Ігри
RE4 felt like an action adventure. The remake felt like a horror story while you play it. Both games poured a lot of effort into it.
Which is why I'm happy they made that change in the Remake. If only they gave Resident evil 3 such treatment
@@SampleFire the dollhouse in re8 (yeah, even the dlc) both take the cake as well lol
@@mysteryace2129 there’s an alternate universe where re4 remake got that re3 remake treatment and re3 remake got that re2/4 remake treatment
RE4 was scary 😨 as hell
Both games lost its horror vibe imo because of Leon himself. He usually breakz the ice everytime he runs his mouth
Wesker is the type of guy who wears ultra dark sunglasses and spends days in a dark room with only the computer as the source of light
A discord mod?
He’s literally the “billions must die” chud.
An incel?
One of the BIGGEST changes not mentioned here: Krauser first appears during the Castle segment, instead of The Island. In the original game, Krauser was dispatched by Saddler much later in the story. Leon and Krauser's knife fight happened on The Island as well, not in the mines of the Castle. Krauser and Salazar also never met in the original while they do meet in the Remake, when Salazar gives Ashley to Krauser.
honestly this restructuring worked way better, having krauser kill luis and be the final boss so to speak of the castle section really sets up the island as the grand finale really well. you have a score to settle with krauser, you need to rescue ashley and clear the plagas from yourself or else luis' death would've meant nothing
@@randomt800kiddo2 there is no score to settle with Krauser because there’s no build up. Also, Leon was going to rescue ashley regardless so it had nothing to do with Luis’s death
@@BabyGirlTinyhow’s there no build up? Krauser is the reason Ashley was kidnapped, that Luis is dead and Krauser has already attempted to kill Leon. Those things are build up enough. They didn’t need an elaborate story.
@@SSJSwole The Elaborate Story He Must Be Looking Must Be “Operation Javier”.
They do meet in the original as well but off screen since there is a cutscene where Saddler orders Krauser to go get the girl from Salazar right after the Verdugo battle. If you didn’t see it that doesn’t mean it didn’t happen
Both the original and the remake of Resident Evil 4 are outstanding games that clearly had a lot of love, time, and effort poured into making them.
so true
Love and effort certainly, time eh that's debatable in my personal opinion re4 remake is clearly bit rushed jaggedness here and there, an issue with aiming but damn this game just brings back a memory of grinding re4 on keyboard loving it so far sad that seperate ways is free dlc instead of coming with the game
I'm a sucker for horror thrillers so the Remake is more my cup of tea than the original. The OG is still great but it's tone is more 90s Action Hero which is okay but not the tone of the first 2 resident evil games.
@@Buu.yaanaa grow up
@@theadhi3216 he’s got his opinion and we should respect it
7:41 this scene actually broke me despite how Krauser is one of the best villains, but he died knowing he trained a hero that will stop this madness.
It's also the first and only time he calls him Leon and not Rookie
The fact that Leon and Ashley are not even questioning where they jacket are. In original, you can see one of the villagers is wearing Leon's jacket.
The remake feels so much more cohesive.
The original was an amazing game , and it still stands the tests of time…but the story had some murky ambiguity to it. The remake makes things so much cleaner, especially with characters like Luis and Krauser.
They made a lot of gameplay changes not mentioned too, such as the Salazar fight being completely different.
Re 4 remakes biggest and best addition story wise is the buddy cop chapter with Luis! They did Luis right forsure 💯
That section felt so out of place. That solo adventure of the underground castle area in the original was very memorable. Luis' death at the hands of Krauser was also cheap and didn't have the same weight of when he was killed by Saddler.
@@The_Ostrich hot take
That chapter felt forced because there was no build up to ot
@@The_Ostrich What??? Luis’ death in the OG carried no emotional weight because you barely knew him and he was all shady the entire time.
In the remake, you know Luis for longer, you visited the cabin he grew up in. Luis even opened up to you more, and the one who killed him is close to Leon which makes it more personal.
Wtf are you on about?? Take off your nostalgia glasses.
That was a lot of fun! His death hit a lot harder here cause you were just fighting side by side with him 😔
Completely forgotten change: bosses kept talking to Leon through his radio. In the remake they just use the hive-mind system virus got them connected to.
You enter Chief Bitores Mendez's house from the opposite side in the remake. This means that Dr. Salvador is ready to cut you off at the entrance instead of ambushing you as you leave. Scared the hell out of me.
Does anyone know what happened to the other Verdugo? In the original he's supposed to fuse with Salazar but in this one it's his own power, so I'm a bit confused as to where the second one went, considering they're pretty strong and useful to the story.
On Seperate ways dlc coming soon with U-3 maybe?
Ya, you can pick of a file in the castle area that states U3 is the left hand when he turns the house maid into the left hand. Then the scientist turns himself into the right hand, which you kill like normal in the tunnels with nitro.
Probably secretly fused with salzar when he falls into the pit. Cuz maybe that’s what the big ol’ jaws are, part of the verdugo
@@TheBoiledOne. no
@@arielfikar755 not maybe but CONFIRMED!!
In remake Ada become the one with cheesey one liners, while other with cheesey one liners became more mature
Another change:-
Ada is also the one chasing after Leon instead of the other way around. She asks him to come with her, he refuses her and tells her that it’s time they go their separate ways.
Worth mentioning that there is a document mentioning the U3 "project" in salazar throne room.
They missed out that the Ashley scene with the living armour statues is a nod to the original Resi 4 concept footage of Leon in the 'haunted' mansion
They definitely highlighted the characters and their backstories in the remake. The hallucinations and physical changes that came with the plaga gave so much more insight of the pain it creates as time passes.
Salazar's right hand no longer comes off and they removed the iconic laser room sequence as well 😢
So there's still cut content?
@@aintyourjam barely they dont even affect the game its just dialouge removed
@@aintyourjam lots of em. No rpd outfit, no P.R.L412 and no Separate ways.
@@Sin_29_clairthat’s barely anything 😂. There is also plenty of talk about separate ways. There is no guaranteed that it’s cut.
@@Sin_29_clair Separate Ways was found in the game files so It might be a future dlc
The bigger Ganados enemies with the bull head replaced the original Ganados with miniguns. That was pretty unexpected when you first encounter one.
Did anyone else notice how the hallucination section towards the end somewhat called back to RE 3.5?
In the original, there was supposed to be a dual reality system, where Leon would hallucinate when enemies were near, and the area would turns to the same bluish white used in the R4make.
Might not be intentionally done, but it's possible it's a nod to the original concept of RE4.
yes there are a lot of references to 3.5 like Leons Jacket in the beginning is from the 3.5 build not the final build
Unlike the OG
Ada doesn't jump through helicopter blades to get inside of it xD
They removed that one line with Salazar and his right hand.
They "left" it out
Never any doubt. Capcom did a hell of a job on this remake. Expanded upon nearly everything in the OG and made it better.
Now its possible, for capcom to re create the event when Chris and Jill go to European Branch of Umbrella and found some piece of information based on Luis
"the los iluminados" is translated to "the the illuminated"
biggest noticable change ..Leon is no longer referred to as" Cabron" at least not yet (early into the game)
Qué carajo estás haciendo aquí, lárgate cabrón
The Los Iluminados
Let’s hope code Veronica gets a remake 🎉 please capcom 😢
Only if Steve is not in it
@@jesusrodriguezcolon8315 why? Steve is cool
Capcom already has so much ready material they can recycle to make a code:Veronica, and make it really quick, that if they don't do it, it's cause they don't really want to.
@@jesusrodriguezcolon8315 they can make him cool this time they should leave him in. But he's pretty funny in the original
I'd rather have them remake 5 then Code Veronica. But it'd be interesting to have both.
Capcom is doing LEGENDARY REMAKES!!!!!
04:25 “Hester Saddler, which is not the most intimidating name ever”
Later in the game: the epitaph for Adam Saddler
In the remake and unlike the original Ada doesn't save Leon from Krauser disobeying to Wesker who ordered her to let him be killed by Krauser. She almost blows her cover just to save his life cause of her feelings for him in the original. Leon also shows to have feelings for her in the original as he right out tells Ashley that Ada is a part of him he can't let go. All this is lost in the remake since now Luis saves Leon and Leon never admits her feeling for Ada making their whole relationship in the game dull and ambiguous especially when Leon let's Ada go with the sample which he wouldn't do in the original, Ada had to steal the sample from him cause original Leon wouldn't have just let her take the sample despite his feelings for her because he wouldn't risk another outbreak. This Leon doesn't give a damn instead...
Holy crap that really change so much damn and yeah in the original we see that ada love leon that be nice
re4 og is better than remake
@@fazelfarrokhi1998 still a lot of aspects are better in remake especially talking about the life quality changes
In OG if Leon wanted he can stop Ada from getting sample. But his main aim was to save Ashley and that's why he let go Ada.
@@Harshel_Rawat true
Now we need RE5 remake and it would be nice if they could somehow turn the beta concept of RE4 in which Leon is in a haunted mansion and the movement and camera is similsr to RE1-3.
kruzer: *entire team lost, becomes a vilian*
hunk: *is infamous for being the only surviver, nicknamed mr or dr. death* first time?
sure but Hunk is also an Umbrella soldier.
@@TrainHardnett was umbrala soldier but it doesnt change the joke about hunk losing all his team all the time
Im just glad they updated ashly so she doesnt look like a child hitting on a grown man at the end 😂
Im interested to see what they are doing with that change in the end.. will this "remake" Resident evil story line take another route after 4 so they don´t have to remake 5 and 6? are they trying to connect the storys between 4 and 7 with two new games?
I'm sure they may remake 5 at least. It may not have been everyone's cup of tea but after resident evil 4, it was another very high selling game. If given the chance to remake 5, I'm sure Capcom won't disappoint.
With the end of the RE 4 remake, there will almost certainly be a RE 5 and 6 remake with a rewritten story to make it more appealing, similar to the RE 4 and 2 remakes.
The main story change would be in Resident Evil 6, 5 still happens because even after Ada's betrayal Wesker gets a sample. But with her main betrayal happening earlier than before (and 6's story being caused by her original betrayal) it will definitely have story changed
They gotta throw in a Veronica remake before 5.
My guess is that all the Umbrella exposition and narrative will more logically be in Separate Ways, probably in Ada’s intro this time.
As Ada is the most informed on the pharmaceutical industry and working under Wesker.
She’d know about Umbrella’s current status, their history with Los Plagas just like she found Luis’ emails originally, and she’d certainly be privy to how Wesker conspired to bring this plot together.
Also tying RE5 more directly with Stairway to the Sun and Excella not only confirms RE5 remake down the line, but also verifies that Umbrella/Shadow companies are still at play beyond just the Connections.
Having beaten the original probably hundreds of times they did a fantastic job with this remake had some major doubts and my hopes were low but damn it imma definitely be playing this one a hundred times this and 8 had lots of fun with 8 for some reason lol
hundreds of times? doubt
He means hundred save file… :)
Tell me you only care about the gameplay not the story while Not telling me
cannot wait to buy this later on in the summer time
The castle has cut out multiple ambushes and has made the assembling of the three headed puzzle much much easier. They seemed to have removed all of the overly tedious segments like the two goons with the rocket launchers in the gallery
Glad they did
Ashley's smile gives me life :) ❤️
Wait...if separate ways and assignment ada are not in the game, does that mean that the mafia outfit is cut too?
the mafia and the knight armor outfit its still in the remake
@@klaussecruz7133 ah ok thanks
@@ansgar0448 their also both coming by DLC

@Jeff's Royal Body Guard it was on the PS2 release though
can't forget that Salazar's right hand doesn't come off anymore :( big sad
Re4 remake makes me understand everything and history of things
mike lasts longer and actually helps leon out a bit more and u sorta have to save him
Uhhh no, he definitely doesn't last longer and doesn't help more, he drops out half way through because of a anti air gun and runs out of amo shortly after. And whats up with that southern accent nobody called for...
U-III is still mentioned, only in the files in the last 3rd of the game
2nd part of the game last 3rd is the island sequence
“Where’s everybody going? Bingo?”
Wesker look like whisker to me
After reviewing the comments, it appears that the music playing at 0:19 (known as 'River Chase') has gone unnoticed as being from Crysis 3.
Hey there. The song being used isn't from Crysis 3, and was instead downloaded from www.universalproductionmusic.com/ - I can't remember which album it specifically was but I got it from there. - Jesse
@@TheFriendlyBroski Just to clarify, I do realize that this music is not from Crysis 3, but I was curious to see if others noticed the striking similarities to or influence from the game's 'River Chase' music. Thank you for explaining.
He looked better without the hat. Im hoping you unlock the og skins for characters
The one and only tragedy of this game is Sadler isn't voiced by Jarl Balgruff anymore.
My favorite thing about re4 are its game play and the cheese and camp of the dialogue. If Salazar's hands don't come off I'm not in
Salazar transformation and the Helicopter.
From the creators of "The GOTY of the year" now comes "The Los Iluminados".
Another provocative detail they took away in the Remake:
Original: Ada reminds Leon that she doesn't "kiss and tell", referring to their kiss in RE2, but using it also as a metaphor for her overall secrecy.
Remake: She tells Leon that she doesn't "work and tell", referring only to her job.
(Lame change, in my opinion. Not even a phrase people use.)
It would be awesome if a future DLC for RE4 was operation Javier
So glad U-3 was omitted but now I'm thinkin' Ada's gonna fight it in Separate Ways.
Osmund Saddler meets Leon wáy later in the remake. His role only becomes prominent in Chapter 14. Pretty huge story shift.
Also, Ada meets Leon much later on in the castle in the remake. Her entrance in the original was way more iconic, imo.
Where to find the body of the intro girl killed by saddler🤔 i finished the game but didn't saw the body anywhere
You go up a ladder. Right where you encounter Luis for the first time, outside there's an Insignia door to the right. You find both of them there. Dead.
He was a member of umbrella that developed nemesis and when the government was looking for former umbrella personnel Luis left back to his hometown to hide. Then he was hired by saddler to study and work on las plagas experiments.
they removed U3 and Salazar statue chase..
The biggest disappointing change was the big cheese’s fake eye ball not being a key
Are we sure that leon didnt get some side-training with brock lesnar? You'd think the way he did those german suplexes, he has a detour in his training to suplex city.
Isn’t there a part in the original where you fight or run away from a giant statue?
Best thing they did was remove the quick time events.
There was references to u3 in the later half of the the remake but that was about it.
Separate ways gotta be a DLC
Wish can take second fight with Chief Mendez but sadly don't have
Where is my
Ashley: "No way Leon!"
Leon: "Way.."
Scene 🥲
At the end of Re4 original he tells hunnigan she’s cute without her glasses. In the remake they don’t talk, but when the camera cuts to hunnigan, she takes off her glasses
Nice one for the spoilers, really appreciate that 👍

Man praying so much for U3 to make a comeback in a DLC, It's the only thing I'm asking.
Most likely will since it would be bad writing if the missing verdugo never appears again, and that mutated Jack in the og seperate ways didn't make sense.
Why does Leon turn down Ada's offer to rescue him and Ashley at the end of the game?
Cause Ada only offered it to Leon

So when you kicked down to sewers and have to battle the right hand they missed the part where ramon was suppose to hear a splat then gets mad sends his right hand to deal with leon but with that taken out there was no reason for the right hand to come find or kill leon. Bit of an oversight along with us seeing leon having a grappling hook.
They can see through his eyes at any given point, they know if he died or not

Does this remake or any of the other ones overide the canon of their originals? Or is the RE canon so messed up that it does not matter anymore?
The new RE2, RE3, & RE4 take place in a separate universe while the Resident Evil remake and OG Resident games take place in another.
@Giovanni Giovanni. That can't be, at least for REmake2, because of plotholes with scenarios.
We already know he was forced into being a secret agent since Resident Evil 3 (original not the shitty remake)'s epilog and Darkside Chronicles as well. All these shitty remakes make me so mad.
I'm sad because there is no u3 anymore in the remake 😢
Except that, i've finished the remake twice and well done Capcom, solid 9/10 for me and i'm a HUGE fan of re4!

Ada needs her own game. Change my mind lol
OG Ada needed her own game. My biggest complaint with the remake is how awful the team did with her. Terrible VA/direction. It really let me down. Ada is one of my favorite RE characters. Hopefully they can make amends.
