You can see the amount of thought and care you have taken selecting the best ephemera for a page. I love learning from your examples. I remember when I was younger our insurance salesman left a similar portfolio for my father to put his new insurance policy in. There were other blank envelopes to add other important papers: house deed, adoption papers, birthday certificate, marriage certificate, etc. FYI

What fun--I searched a bit for some history on that black folio--did you find anything? I think my favorite part about this video is that gorgeous b-roll of your shelf FULL of completed journals with those beautifully stitched spines. W🤩W --soooooooo awesome 🤗

@@TheCrabbyCrafterlol nothing so glamorous! I was a heroin addict for 30 years before I met Jesus. It's a reminder that an ill-spent life leaves nothing of value behind except 'Skeletal Remains'. Now I'm an altered book/junk journal artist, wife, mother, and homeschooling grandma. Big change, lol. I do love all literature including Poe. My fav is the Tell Tale Heart. I use to read a lot of true crime but began to think the clerk at 7-11 looked a little suspicious, lol.

I love your spines that look like Corsets! I bet the insides are beautiful too. You make glue books that are brilliant. In my mind, I’d just be glueing down pictures I wanted to keep. But not in any special order. Lol. Your pages make me want to stare at each piece slowly. And study everything. Just amazing. 11:39 was too fast!! Lol

I have a Book of Remembrance that has pages like that. The birthdates and also weddings and deaths are recorded on them. Some pages have pictures of my ancestors.

I want to make something like this with things from my parents -photos, stamps, documents and as I was watching I saw my family name at --1:51-- and lots of images from the San Francisco bay area - where I am from- it's as if this is the video that says to me "go for it"

Sometimes I do remove pages first, just to make it easier to work in. 💙
Margarete, that is not a birth certificate: the Mormons all over have to collect their genealogy and family tree, and they have those special papers to put their family lineage on them. I have some that my cousin gave to me (she is a Mormon); the Temple in Salt Lake City has copies of all of the members of their church's genealogy papers.
The LDS church has a geneolgy library. That's where they keep history, not in the Temple. People of any religion can go there to research family histories.
The library is wonderful, but it not where they keep their sacred records.
May I ask where you found all of that foreign currency? I love it!
There was a vendor in an antique mall in Salt Lake City, that had a big box or currency. He was selling them for $1 a piece, which could be quite pricy, if you get a lot, like I did, but to me it was worth it. I could pick the ones I wanted, and there was quite a huge selection. I was happy with the purchase. You can also buy currency online, on Ebay, for example. I've gotten some there, too.
Beautiful glue books! On the first one, how many pages did you glue together to make thicker pages?
I glued at least 3 pages together, and then tore out pages before and after.
Do you ever write in your glue books?
Some people do, but I don't. I don;t know what to say.
I like your collages very much, but I had to mute, your voice and music competing with each other…not for me😔
