Some explanation as BEcause has some of the most complex visual references I have ever seen in an M/V and paired with its really creepy lyrics it is just a real masterpiece. And it gives a rough estimation on how complex DreamCatcher visual symbolism can go (which also gives a hint on how complex their Lyrics can be). Anyway just a few things to point out: In the title "BE" as written by the Chinese character "悲“, means "sadness" so "BEcause I love you" means that the source of my sadness is that I love you. It is a song about obsessive love while the visuals are heavily inspired by the movie "US" by Jordan Peele where doppelgangers living underground take over the life of their counterparts. Contrary to that in BEcause it is more like an obsessive Shadow side that craves love and a normal side (red represents the shadow side, blue represents the normal side while purple is an indication that these side live together). The hourglass starts the obsessive cycle 2:10 when the shadow side breaks 2:00 free and starts corrupting the normal side 2:08 while eventually the obsessive side gets rejected and becomes the victim of itself and becomes the new normal side and the cycle starts over. Some details I love are how in the lobby at the beginning the dresses of the people who will be taken over during the video are presented 2:37. Also the old electric chair used as a throne with roses is a nice one 4:01. Exactly half the scenes use wrong lighting setup enforcing the duality, just like all the mirror and upside down images. Finally plenty of images are exact recreations from the "US". Overall, I am also in love with BEcause M/V :) Stay the way you are like a beautiful painting is straight up reference to Good night, "like my very own doll" . You can technically interpret it as a corpse, especially that right after the "take away the spilled paint before it hardens " is basically blood.... Similar to how Blue Blue your face turns blue is suffocation.

There actually are "cute" parts, but there also are parts where the guitars go full metal. The variations in BEcause remind me of their previous masterpiece, Deja Vu. The bridge with SuA's slow rap and Yoohyeon's backing vocals is possibly the most beautiful one they have ever done. About the meaning: According to Dami, BEcause is about love becoming obsession. And also, this is a stand-alone story. They go back to their horror roots, which I really enjoy. They noted that if you look at "BE" as a written Chinese character "悲“, that would mean "sadness". this was THEEE comeback, they blew up bc they played this song during the olympics. the mv and choreo are based on the horror movie Us (2019) by the director of Get Out! and Nope! it's so cool once you watch the movie (a masterpiece btw). the choreo is so good, I watched every stage. can't wait for the album reaction and hopefully you vlog some of the concert, but make sure to enjoy it more!!

The Capitalization of BE in BEcause is derived from the Hanja word sadness which is bi, and the English word cause, making BEcause translate to "The Cause of Sadness". There are a lot of details in the MV that point to this such as the movie "Us" which has scenes depicting a hall of mirror, someone being captured and replaced, the carnival; similarly the choreography also uses the movie themes such as the doppelgangers holding hand in a chain, the slight side to side head tilts, ending pose of the center member which two hand on her face, mirrored choreography etc.. There are also a few easter eggs for the doppelgangers concept such as the MV is 3:13 minute long (coincidence? I think not) , and that the opening scene and ending scene has the members in completely different outfits (with the ending outfit more whimsical), as well as the completely drain symmetrical hourglass at the end indicating that at some point, the doppelgangers replaced their original counterpart. More impressively, musicality, it plays into the theme of opposite doppelgangers where there is a two part chorus (whimsical and cute, and a more rock follow up) and two part bridge (soft vocals followed up by a deep spoken rap with atmospherically vocals behind) trying to show this mirror duality. Also, I love the Pyscho volin homage during the rap part of the song. Lastly, the holding hand part (which you commented in the dance practice) is also a nod to the movie Us.
