Michael Jordan just sold the Charlotte Hornets, he didn't sell ot because he was losing money and he sold it for 4x what he paid for it. The L.A. The only reason masters are profitable for labels is because they have the machine and the power to call in favors and put a song in a commercial, movie, or make a label sample it for their next big hit. If you can’t do those things, which is almost impossible to do without top industry connections, your masters ain’t that much money. Mike owned the Beatles catalog which generated enough money for his family to live off of and the same goes for Prince. So it only makes sense to not sale those catalogues. Master P and his family can’t live off No Limit catalogue bc it doesn’t generate the type of money that you think it does. If it did he wouldn’t have to sale it. The artists that are selling their masters would die before they see the type of money that they’re getting from selling their catalogues. Selling a catalogue for $100-$200 mill and investing that into another business is a lot smarter than holding it and dying before you get that money.

Thug himself don’t understand high-level business. Every Fortune 500 company ever has had an exit strategy, which is to sell or go public. Literally every single one. If u can sell a sneaker for $200 but at best sell a song for .99 u might wanna sell that catalog and get the capital to invest in a business that’s more profitable

The problem with selling your masters is that your selling your generational wealth for Pennie’s in the dollar. When it comes to music that’s profitable your great great great grandchildren should be able to eat of what you created in perpetuity.

He was really doing business, which is why he is disturbed. He had money before he went national. These dudes are financially irresponsible. No way Master P should be going broke, and Tech 9 is rich. Slim Thug was owning properties before his first major video and in that video he was wearing a cheap ass Dickie Suit. Cappadonna had the most expensive outfits in his first major video and still lived in the projects. I couldn't make that shit up.

Master P down fall was when he let Soulja Slim leave. If he would've kept Slim, Under the Tank.He probably never would've gotten killed. Plus BG, Turk and juvenile eventually would have signed with No limit To be with Soulja Slim. P would've kept making money and had money to pay Taxes. He never would have had to sell his Master's then.
