Nicely done! I've been wanting to do a tattered flag for some time now but was having a hard time figuring out how to get the lines cut right to make it look authentically torn. Do you use a stencil or anything for that? Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Thank you very much. Honestly, I just drew the tattered edge on there. I tried to make it random and look natural. I make a lot of the torn edge flags, so I don't want to use a template and have them all look the same. Thanks for watching!!
Thanks! I used a Minwax brand Spar urethane on it. It didn't leave streaks. I have had issues with streaks in the past when I used oil based finished. The tend to be a little trickier to use. Hope this helps.
I took the photographs of the dog tags and traced them into the wood using white graphite paper and a stylus. You can also just press hard with the stylus and it will leave a dent in the wood showing you where to carve. I like to use the paper when there is a lot of detail.
Dude, this is awesome!
Greet job!!
Thank you very much!

What finish did you use? Did it leave brush streaks? Im struggling with the one I use.
Flag looks incredible by the way.

What do you use to outline the dog tags and info on the tags?
