Whisky.com reviews the de Borgen Malt Genever. The Malt Genever from the Dutch brand de Borgen is distilled according to a recipe from the 16th century. The juniper-based spirit Genever is the Dutch predecessor of today's gin and found its way to England due to its popularity. This bottling from de Borgen goes back to the roots and consists of a malt brandy made from corn, wheat and rye, which is distilled with juniper berries in copper stills. Other botanicals are caraway, fennel and woodruff. Subsequent maturation in Oloroso sherry casks gives the Genever more depth.

But when it's matured in oak, it changes to something beautiful.

I only have access to the standard unaged 42% Bols. I like Boomsa genever, but probably more for the name.
These have a bit more body than regular gin and I might guess this cask aged bottle may be to much for a simple cocktail, if that's possible.
