    Well Genever is actualy older than wiskey and a protected name at that only Belgian dutch and part of german western states are alowed to call it genever . Brandy is also a dutch creation extra distiling higher alcohol % and condensed flavour of wine .the dutch called brandenwijn as the region they bought the wines was cognac you get the idea where the french name came from and is protected .
    But in short England is the only nation with out a domestic national alcoholic drink as they claimed other nations drinks as their own . and verry badly ,
