This is a really basic look at the very niche and diverse Spirit- Genever, Jenever, Hollands, Korenwijn:
I talk you through the really basic understanding of the different types of Genever and their production processes and I also touch very briefly on the vast history of the epic Duty story!!
This is a video about world history as much as it is on Dutch Genever and their national spirit!!

The VOC is one of the most interesting aspects of naval history by far! Love that genever is coming back into trend nowadays, the malty profile really outshines many gins in cocktails.

I couldn’t agree more- It’s a quiet one in my bars and people rarely ask for it, but it makes killer drinks and is a must when trying to replicate some of the old recipes from old cocktail books!! Thanks for watching as always!!

Is Genever similar to Whiskey? I am planing a stag do party for my best friend in Amsterdam. He is a whiskey fan. But when im already in amsterdam I thought a Genever-Tasting could be an option. What do you think?

If he likes Whiskey, go Whiskey. I find this is closer to Gin (obv.) or even decent Polish Wodka, than Whiskey.
