I didn't like it how Alec Baldwin doesn't even give Donald, Douglas, and Duncan scottish accents and I've always grew up with the new series narrated by Michael Brandon on PBS Kids.
I never really hated his narrations. He was at his peak in season 8 with his soothing narration. While he was a bit ear piecing during seasons 9-16, he's still pretty decent. Overall, I'm probably one of the only few people who actually liked his narrations.
I actually find him good in the CGI seasons since he is only the narrator and he doesn’t need to give the characters voices since he sucked at that making skarloey sound like child with nasal problems he only voices diesel in the cgi series from season 13-16 and he does a pretty good job
Ngl a lot of Brandon's Narration problems weren't his fault like LOOK at most of the episodes he's narrated and imo he's the best at playing dumb bully diesel while Ringo is best at playing devious placing fear into others Diesel
He mentioned “the little trains” twice. So that must mean he is proud to have been the narrator of Thomas and Friends, the longest in the US no less! What’s more, he celebrated his life in the show business for 50 years, just like how the Queen of Denmark celebrated her Golden Jubilee 2 years ago.
*sigh* The Last Thomas Episode that Michael Brandon Narrated was "The Christmas Tree Express". He didn't narrate "Gordon Runs Dry", "Scruff's Makeover", "Steamie Stafford", or "Wayward Winston" because Mark Moraghan replaced him in the United States and Michael Angelis in the United Kingdom.
Mark Moraghan replaced Michael Angelis in the UK, and he narrated those episodes from season 17 you mentioned as well. He replaced both narrators in King of the Railway, and his final season was season 21.
I don’t care what anybody says about him as a narrator of those little trains, he did the job he was paid to do, the way he saw fit. As long as he had at least a little fun doing those, I’d say he did fine enough.
I love how they acknowledged his Thomas career with the episode that is probably the least known for being dubbed by him. Not that I'm not happy they acknowledged it, just saying.
I'm sure a good number of people know about him. He's not Dwayne Johnson in terms of popularity, but he's pretty well known, especially for his Thomas work.
He would have been a fine Thomas narrator if he used his normal voice instead of sounding high pitched and nasally but I blame the direction of the show.
