Jeannie, I teared up when you said you were here to give us tenderness to help ease the chasm of someone missing in our lives. My mom passed away just over a year ago at only 56 years old. She was my best friend and I really really miss her (and I think I’ll miss her for the rest of my life). Your motherly presence reminds me so much of her sweet nature. Thank you so much ❤

Hannahr, God Bless you, sweetheart. It's a very slow process. And I don't think it's something that we can just
"get over". I lost my mom, over 15 years ago, and it still hurts, just as much as, the day we lost her. I would love to say that it gets easier with time but, it doesn't. Take as much time as you need, hon.😘💋
Grieving does not have an expiration date. Hugs and prayers.🤗🙏❤️☮️✨

As a small child I would lay in my bed at night and listen to my parents talk softly in the kitchen, mom flipping through a magazine and dad doing the dishes. I would feel completely safe then. Maybe that’s why I keep coming back to your videos. The soft spoken, the flip throughs. You make me feel as if all is well in the world, a feeling that otherwise exists only in the memories of my childhood.

    Hello Jeannie,
I've only just discovered your channel. You showed up in my feed a few times, probably because I regularly watch Maria. Last night during a terrible bout of insomnia, I was recommended the Seventeen magazine video and now I'm hooked! I'm not usually into soft spoken, I prefer whispering but your voice has something so soothing and warm to it. Add to that the nostalgia factor a lot of your videos have and I couldn't resist subscribing.
What a charming lady you are! Smart, funny and beautiful. There's an elegance about you, a certain grace that radiates from you. I hope you don't mind my saying but you remind me a lot of Natasha Richardson's character in "The Parent Trap". I loved that film growing up and always idolised that character, wanted a mum like that and wished to be her when I grew up. I am now the age Richardson was when it was filmed (and nowhere near the posh London lifestyle she lived 🥲). You have something of that essence about you, the way you move your face when speaking, the smile.
Anyhow, look at me just droning on! I'm glad I discovered your channel and thank you for the beautiful advice given in your Seventeen video.

I had a similar experience in college. I also had a professor for an online course that I would fall asleep to in almost every class because her voice was just so relaxing and calm to me. I’m so glad I found ASMR.
Also, I love the wallpaper ideas for your bathroom. Older designs and bold colors are definitely back in style again.

I was JUST thinking the other day 'I hope Jeannie uploads a new magazine flip through soon!' and here this is! Not that I don't love your other videos, I do, but I just really enjoy listening to you explain your thoughts or memories associated with certain things in the magazines. It's so interesting and comforting to me. Thank you for this video, Jeannie. You truly are so gifted at this!

I love your type of ASMR because it’s your authentic, natural, soft spoken voice that has all the right smacks, lip presses and pronunciation of everything is perfection. You don’t seem to try “hard” to be like the others. I love book or magazine flipping but your old magazines are my favorite!! If I get on UA-cam for another reason but see and click on one of your recent uploads in my feed well you can just hang it up I get sucked in like a vortex and sleepy time here I come! 😂🥱😴

Thank you for soothing me from my night terrors tonight Jeannie. It may be blah blah blah to you but it’s precious to me. I love the magazine videos and you specially. There is a sensitivity and melancholy in your voice/mannerisms that is very relaxing. I can tell you are someone who has lived through hard times and loss (I am remembering correctly that you lost your precious son?) and you use that energy for good. It’s very nurturing as you said. Thank you for your work.

Like you I have been experiencing ASMR from droning voices throughout my life also. My teachers reading aloud from books always made me feel so relaxed and I couldn’t understand why 😂. I found ASMR community when I was in residential treatment about 3 years ago and was alone and scared.

Your presence and voice are very beautiful things, and so are you; you really spoke to me when talking about filling that loving void..I lost my mom at 44 in '96 to cancer and I wasn't even two yet so I never got a chance to know her but, my partner and you are two of the very few and best things that help get me through the pains and trials..so thank you again and I'll see you in the next video 📹; bye for now!!

    Oh! Precious Jeannie!
You’ve articulated this so well.💕Thank you!
I too mostly like the sounds of a voice droning on in the background as I fall asleep.
And for a time, with my new channel, I thought I might be doing it “wrong.”
Thank you for validating the blah, blah, blah style. I fall into it naturally as well.
And also, I’m an old Art Bell and George Noory listener from way back. 😅
They kept me company on those long nights of nursing newborn babies.
However, I had a hard time falling back to sleep after the ghost stories.😱
Thank you for putting out such wonderful content.
    You are great.
    Xoxo,
    Lindy

And yes - Art Bell (rip) and GN - can really freak you out if you’re alone. Did you know there’s a YT channel with all Art Bell’s shows? Again, I have to be really careful listening to them. I’m soooo easily affected.

I'm an English lady of a similar age to yourself, and you are my cup of tea, don't change anything. Your vulnerability is so refreshing, some of the other ASMR ladies come across a little forced and overly curated, but you are nice and real. I would love to see you going through a 'horsey' type magazine, can't ever have enough horsey stuff! Thank you

I'm so glad the gentleman who stumbled across your channel was polite, at least, even though he didn't quite understand what he was listening to... because I do 'cultural' and history ASMR, I quite often end up with listeners who have found me via the subject matter, rather than for the ASMR - and some of them are so rude! "THIS WOMAN SOUNDS HORRIBLE, WHY IS SHE USING THAT DREADFUL WHISPERING VOICE TO TALK ABOUT THE BRONTË SISTERS?" 😆 As you say, everyone likes different things and everyone is entitled to their own opinion... but I do sometimes wish there was a little more courtesy online. Anyway, I love your "blah, blah, blah" - and as I used to work as an interior design magazine features writer in the 1990s (including for the British edition of 'Country Living'), this was a lovely trip down memory lane, so thank you!

I had a friend growing up as a teenager whose mom had this voice that would always give me the tingles on the sides of my head, and her voice would just make me so relaxed. She had this relaxing voice and also she had this tendency to ramble about the same story for soooooo long and some people might find it obnoxious but I loved all the little random details she would drone on about and go into and she was always almost whispering when she talked. I thought I was nuts for getting tingles on the sides of my head when people would whisper or be eating lunch and talking or flipping through the weekly grocery store circular and mumbling what they were reading. My Dad was responsible for a lot of unintentional asmr, but I didn't know what it was yet. I'm so glad that it's a thing now and we can all enjoy it.
