Here is our list of the top 10 Irish movies of all time as voted by you. Agree or disagree. Let us know Facebook: / andymccarrollmovies Twitter: / andymc1983
At 34 years of age, now with twins of my own, I have come to realise, I was waaaay to fcuken young watching every single one of these movies!!! Really enjoyed this top 10!! Well done 👍
There’s a few missing here such as Waking Ned Devine, Once, Sing Street, Angela’s Ashes & The Crying Game. The Van was also a blast & has a great soundtrack by Eric Clapton but it’s not available.
None of those, exc ept for Darby Ogill, are among my top ten. To me, the best was My Wild Irish Rose, loosely based on the great Irish tenor Chauncey Olcott. Also there is Luck of the Irish and Finians Rainbow.
My list Omagh, Good Chips, Unhinged, The Van, The Butcher Boy, Intermission, Splash Area The Night Of Freaks, Ondine, The Banshees Of Inish E, Life's A Breeze, The Hardy Bucks Movie, One Of Those Days. I couldn't get into War Of The Buttons The Young Offenders was barely okay
I'd also throw in Mickybo and Me. Cool Idea to put the story of the Troubles form a child's perspective and said children in the film are the best child actors I've ever seen.
Anyone know the name of the film at O.31 -0.35 please. I think its a gangster Irish movie. The one with bloke in leather jacket pointing gun please. Its at the start in short clips
