What a good copy! Knew nothing of this one, tho' have heard of Olcott. Flash / German titles made one or two details confusing at times, but plotting pretty simple and clear. Keep 'em coming! Robert Smith

I imagine it took that poor woman a life time to fill the basket with turf especially with the bottom of the basket missing. Great to have this very old footage thanks for uploading.

Movie was made 110 years ago! Just think if they had moving pictures when the Civil War was happening? Everyone in this film is dead now. :(

It looks like Foxrock station - it's on the erstwhile Harcourt Street - Bray line (1859-1958) anyway.

Is this based on a play by Dion Boucicault,,..as was the Collen Bawn film of 1911 ? Except Im not sure there were telephones in the days of Dion, I sort of wonder what Flann O Brien would write about this, I wonder if this was shown in The Volta,,Dublins first movie theatre set up by James Joyce in 1908?

Is it me or does he look a bit like David Bowie or Sam Fender? (I think it's the cheek bones and maybe the eyes)

This is an incredible restoration. Some of the footage almost looks like it was shot with a camera from the '50s or '60s rather than the '10s.
    Could use some music, though.
