Absolutely perfect, just what I wanted to know. One question....how long will it last before I must start the actual painting?

Great question! Since this is oil paint, it does take a while to dry. The temperature and humidity conditions also have some influence, but you should easily have an hour or two.
If you wait too long, (hours or days later), you can easily apply another thin layer. Hope this helps.

Great question! Great news ... The Titanium white is oil paint. You can start painting right away. The slick surface is what gives this technique it's benefits. Just don't use too much. You just need a thin coat. Hope this helps. Thanks for the great question and happy painting.

Can you use boiled linseed oil?

Thank you for the great question. The fact is, you can use many different types of oil for your oil painting art. The reason most artists use refined linseed oil is that is takes longer to dry than boiled linseed oil. Another concern is that boiled linseed oil may darken with age. You may want to experiment with it first to see if it offers you the look and attributes that you're looking for. If you're paining a special commission or anything you would like to preserve, I'd stick with the artist grade. Hope this helps.

Is it some kind of gesso?

Thank for your question Samira. It's actually what goes on after the gesso. This canvas comes pre-primed with gesso from the store. This treatment is titanium white mixed with linseed oil. this preps your canvas for paint. it helps it blend better. I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any other questions. Happy painting.

Yes, you can. Just make sure it's in a well ventilated space.
