Oh My Goodness!!! I have struggled like you wouldn't believe with trying to put the stitches onto the ribber first! I gave up doing afterthought heels on the machine and would just do them by hand, less grief. I can't believe it never occurred to me to first put them on the knitter (much easier) and then transfer to ribber bed. My husband is always asking me WHY I watch lessons about things I already know how to do. Just this ... I always learn something new that makes life sweeter. I live rather remotely (haha, talking to someone in Alaska!) and do not have access to classes or for that matter anyone else who even owns a machine. Sorry you have that problem but I also have that from time to time. I will hand knit the after thought heel or even the toe at times, gives me something to do at night when I am not on the machines. But what you did is a smart way also, never thought of that and sure that will help others that read this. Actually I am an Alaskan Native but live in Maine, some people do not realize that, hence the Alaskan Maine-iac. But we are remote also and why I tend to craft more than taking care of the dogs or house, sometimes even hubby takes a back seat to my crafting. Roberta Your after thought heel. Can you knit to heel in round and then do the after thought heel and then continue on with the foot of the sock to the toe. Thanks Charlene
