- Autumn in Australia means heading to the local pine plantations to harvest beautiful edible mushrooms with the family. We pick a few species in the video Saffron milk caps, Grey Knights, weeping boletes, ghost mushrooms and amanita muscaria. While not all edible it is important to teach the younger generation what you can and cannot eat.

😮
Pretty cool hey? 😁
Those kids are getting quite an education
Nothing quite like an outdoors education 😁
James you little super star!
Isn't he ever!
We used to do this with our kids when they were little too. By the way U can eat the red ones but they have to be specially prepared and no good for children
Thanks for watching, it certainly is a fun outdoor activity for kids 😁 I have been doing some reading on eating the Amanitas but due to the complexity and legality I decided it was best just to leave them off the 'edible' list for now. I am very curious about how they taste though.
@@HohnkeOutdoors U kinda slow bake them. They also have an aphrodisiac effect. I'm wanting to take my boys out to learn more bush tukka plants to.
hahaha got yourself a camera crew
Haha yeah, everyone is loving having a turn on the GoPro 😁
