This is one of the most heart warming things I have ever watched. Learning how to harvest mushrooms is fully on the agenda now too. Well done you mate. 👍🏻
WOW WHAT AN AMAZINGLY KIND FAMILY❣️❣️❣️❣️ Such fantastic souls. That was the best part of a really great video. The world is in desperate need of kindness and they were the best example. Alex you are on such an incredible journey. So happy and excited for you❣️❤️🇺🇸
Hey Alex, just found your channel, your appreciation and happiness in such simple things is so heart warming.I felt right there with you as "we" found the next mushroom. You remind me so much of my son who lives half a world away. So tall, thin, enjoys his food so much and the bright smile. I miss him so much, thank you for bringing happy memories to my heart. I just bought a little home in the mountains in Portugal. I look forward to learning foraging amongst other skills. It wasn't expensive to buy needs work but bit by bit I will make my little mountain home. I just bought a great wood cook stove can't wait to use it. Portugal is a great country and central Portugal has such beautiful nature, there are many chances for an ambitiuos young guy like yourself. It is hot in the summer but the mountains and evening breeze and cold winters make it so nice after such summers. Anyway I know you will get your dream. I rebuilt a renault kangoo packed my life into it and am doing mostly off grid in Portugal. I too go on adventures in my van in Europe. Do this at 54 years old as a woman, anyone can do it. Oh so I decided to comment for advice, wool matress protector and summer weight wool comforter cover in pure cotton. Even in summer prevents sweating. All tyese modern tech fabrics still do not work like wool. I made window insulaters with garden wool that is sold in rolls to protect trees in winter one sude reflectix, one side black velvet and middle the wool, in summer is cool and winter slept in my van ‐5 in the Ardennes, toast warm with cashmere pjs from Aldi. It ain't gotta be expensive. I also never wear these puff jackets, I wear thick wool sweaters cotton shirts under, that is my winter clothing, it breathes and lanolin in wool is natural water repellent. I wash shocked how little it needs washed and never stinks. I am sure you know alot of this but even as a vegan I found man made materials horrible and so I look for second hand or ethically treated animals, small companies. I will enjoy your videos immensly. Thanks for sharing! Subscribed!
What a great experience with such a lovely family. It warms my heart to see that there are still good-hearted people out there who just want to connect and share their lives with others. Keep reeling me in, Alex, you are so fun to watch, and I love your genuine excitement as you go on your journeys. You are a born teacher!!!
The salamanders were amazing, the best I get is great, crested water newt’s loving the van life, and the kind warm hearted, people, you are meeting along the way. Memories to keep for a lifetime.
What lovely people awesome, I’m enjoying going on this journey with you Alex enjoy the ride and live your best life, memories for a life time await 🎣👍🏻👏🏻
Excellent video Alex. What an adventure you are having and good on you for being brave and just going out there and seeing what life has to offer. Your videos show us there are good kind people it warms my soul. Keep up the good work mate, it looks like you are enjoying it.
I great video Alex! Back in the 1980’s when I was in the RAF in Germany I once went walking through a local Wood, it was a deciduous woodland with many patches of low lying brambles, under the brambles there was what seemed an eerie purple glow. On further inspection I found that the glow was actually Wood Blewitts. My late Dad used to call them “Bluestalks”. He showed me how to find them, but around where I live you are very lucky to find them in the local woodland. But in Germany this particular day, I had never seen so many in one place. Also there was a street market in Moenchengladbach that had a stall selling wild mushrooms, many different varieties including Blewitts! It’s such a shame that we don’t eat more wild mushrooms in this country instead of farmed button mushrooms! Wild varieties are much more tasty.
what a refreshing video man haha my mind feels refreshed. you know when u go out from the city to nature and you have mind calmness call it whatever this video did this effect to me
What a kind and heartwarming family!! It is so GOOD to see GOOD people!! This world needs a lot more of them.. I’m glad that you had such a fun day! Mushroom hunting, fishing, eating, drinking, AND clean everything!!! What a perfect day! New friends for life…
Hey Alex! Thanks for taking us along on your adventure to Austria! You missed one of the names for the Steinpilz: In the USA, they are known as the King Bolete. (A nod to their size and their genus, the Boletus.) I learned to hunt them from a wonderful lady named Sigrid, who grew up in Austria, then emigrated to the US. She not only taught me to hunt edible mushrooms in the mountains of Wyoming and Colorado, she also taught me the history of the Germanic peoples, and German language as well. When we hunted mushrooms, she taught me the German names for everything we saw! The Steinpilz was Sigrid's favorite mushroom, and your video makes me miss her! I just discovered your channel, and I'll be back! I love mushrooms, gardening and vanlife too! We're birds of a feather!
Oh, the little salamander is so cute! I love how you get excited EVERY time you find mushrooms, like it’s your first time. Your enthusiasm is contagious. From my own experience, the people from Germany and Austria are about the kindest people you would ever meet.
amazing!! I absolutely love mushroom picking. I used to go all the time as a kid and teenager when I lived in Poland. but even since I moved to UK over 12 years ago I haven't been since.. miss it a lot
This entire video warmed my heart. I'm trying to learn about foraging and it's amazing how so many people from the foraging world seem to have such warmth
What a wonderful family you befriended. Be cool if you visited them again and cooked for them or something. Love the vids.. and being able to travel vicariously through your lens.
I don't think I would ever watch something like this if I wasn't a fan of your style and attitude. Quite rare to find somebody humble and genuine on UA-cam!
I’ve lived in the road before, and I can’t think of a more beautiful and fulfilling day as this. Meeting kind and generous new people, mushroom foraging, fishing, cooking and eating, and drinking beer and various wines, and even getting a shower, having your laundry done and being given food to take on the road, including mushroom powder!! What a fantastic day! Thank you for that heart-warming story.
beautiful video, Alex. The cauliflower mushroom looked delicious! So glad you got to spend time with such a lovely family. Looking forward to your next adventure!
So happy for you on this journey and a reminder how there is so many good people who love to share their knowledge with you. Looking forward to seeing your next video. 😀
Hi Alex good to see your progress in camping outdoor world yes you are you got to do what you like it's your own life who cares others think of others 😀
What a beautiful video. Such a joy to wake up and relax with a coffee and this video. I saw a guy in UA-cam called adzventures and he had a magnetic shaving mirror that stuck to the outside of his caddy. Great for keeping bits out of the van. Have fun up the mountains mate.
This was so lovely to watch! I found some penny buns yesterday I was absolutely ecstatic whenever I spotted one. I can hear that amazement in your voice when you spotted them as well.
Never would I find myself watching these kind of videos however as I have followed you for on your journey with ya brother for many years I'm enjoying watching you vlog this new adventure you have taken on and it's great content. I really hope it's filling that empty spot you had! travel safe bro 👊🏻
Hey Alex 👋🏼 I must admit when you and Carl announced that you were going to UA-cam alone for a while and see where things take you both i was unsure how things were going to pan out, but seeing your journey so far I'm pleased it's going well and you do indeed look happier. Well done 👏🏼
It's true, finding an edible mushroom is as exciting as seeing a Rod top tip bent round, possibly more as it's so seasonal ... When I last went on a guided shroom tour, I opted to fixate one edible only, bay bolete. Stannge thing is, I can go back to the forest I first saw it, and see it everywhere, another place and I'm blind to it. Knowing the environment and surroundings is crucial to seeing more is all I've learnt, and I've not learnt enough to eat one I've picked alone 😂 Looking forward to more on this channel, I can see exciting things on the horizon.
Great watch mate I love how kind random people can be to you that was a nice thing to do for you I mean your a complete stranger really so yea 👍🏻to that family

What a sweet family! A wonderful mushroom harvest!
This is one of the most heart warming things I have ever watched. Learning how to harvest mushrooms is fully on the agenda now too. Well done you mate. 👍🏻
Bro had me making fried mushrooms since his last video. The best!
Be very careful harvesting mushrooms, can be VERY dangerous if you don't know exactly what you're looking at!

If you put cat litter in a jar or moisture absorbed from the dollar tree in van helps absorbs moisture in van especially when it rains or snows.
