Is it true that a hat or fascinator with a veil is not for evening ? I remember reading somewhere that veils are only for day time, however it is confusing because some cocktail hats made out of evening fabrics have veils . Thanks

Hi! Thank you for your question. It is completely acceptable to wear veiled hats or fascinators in the day or evening. Modern-day, fashionable headpiece wearing has a new set of rules, and the old etiquette standards do not apply. I would let color (is it pink? black?) and style (larger brim? smaller cocktail hat?) more dictate whether a hat is worn in the day or night, and what looks better with your evening attire. I've worn veiled hats night and day...
