Makes a Mercedes look like crap! The new Mercedes are the worst cars to buy, since their maintenance is so high and very costly. I love the older ones. I love the old Volvos... very good cars.

Tony, all postwar Rolls-Royce saloons, until the BMW era, have bodies made by Pressed Steel in Cowley, Oxford. Only the coachbuilt cars had body panels beaten into shape by hand. Facts matter.

One must spend a lot of time doing their homework pre-purchasing a used RR/B marque . You must see maintenance history as to what has been done to car . No records,no buy ! Case in point: I looked at an '89 Rolls for $ 24,400.00 . Price was descent , but car sat in a museum for 12 years ! To put car on road safely and properly , was $ 25,000.00 ! I walked .

The truth is that if you buy this car you will never be able to sell to anyone. Parts are difficult to find, no mechanic will work on it and an experience mechanic will rape in parts and labor costs at $155,00 and hour. They pray on people who want to drive a show off car and they repair one item and jury rig another part to fail shortly after you leave the shop. The going price on these cars in 2017 is $6500.00 even if they are beautiful and clean. Unless you can repair these cars yourself stay away and admire someone else's Rolls. Nothing like a new car with full warranty,

It's the prestige. Doesn't matter how old it is. It will make anybody's head turn and trust me, if the average Jane or Joe were shown a brand new Mercedes & a 12-25 yr old Rolls-Royce and told they could spend an hour being driven around in only 1... I can guarantee you that the one they would all choose is the RR!😇

LIES, LIES, LIES! Conman at work, right here. Countless luxury cars (Land Rover, BMW, Audi, Mercedes, etc) start out expensive and rapidly lose their value, just like this car.
This car is NOT at all a collector car by any stretch of the imagination. There IS a such thing as an $8,000.00 Rolls Royce. Look around and you will see.

If they were free most people could not afford them. Maintenence and repairs and be astronomical! And British cars are VERY prone to breaking down. Alwasys have been and still are. Even today Range Rovers are the most unreliable brand on earth I have heard.

One thing that got missed, it might of been noticed by others, were the coach lines running along the side of the car, hand painted freestyle by one man, who went to Dubai on one occasion as a customer wanted them on his car, all his friends had them on their own cars but he didn't, so the man from Rolls went on a flight in one seat and his brushes were on the other seat.

+internetkilledthemediastar That's all I ever hear from mechanics or shop employees about these cars. They never stop bitching about how much they hate them or resent working on them. If you hate it that much, don't buy one. Or quit your job and don't work on them. These are fabulous cars that thousands of collective hours of work and dedication go into to create. Rolls Royce is a staple to the automotive industry as one of the finest brands out there with very VERY rich history. It totally blows me away how someone who works on or around cars for a living cant respect a automobile with such rich heritage and priceless contributions to automotive history. I seriously never hear an end to the bitching and complaining by mechanics about these cars. It's a 30 year old Rolls... What do you expect??
I do, however have a lot of respect for the folks that work on these cars. but jeez, if you're not passionate about it... maybe choose another line of work!

Some of the larger ones would have been good in the past for a lifetime investment. As far as this one in the video that is just enormous waste. A Cadillac escalade Suv is just as good as that car and GM beat that 380 engine design way back in 1964 with its cadillac 429 and later 472 and 500 and 425 V8 line and rolls was using GMs 400 turbo automatic through the seventies and 80s and that is the same transmission used in oldsmobiles and cadillacs. This is jut a joke on people that waste all of that money

I really like RR cars, but i have to agree, RR never made the car, it was Vickers, who used GM USA parts, why do you think the front looks like a bench seat with just 2 seats in it, it was a Cadillac copy with hand made parts.
The later 1990's are better (way better engine from BMW), however you then had the 750iL which had the same engine and way better sound system and better seat controls....
I think its a real shame over all, that said, you cant beat driving a car that has RR on it...
