I do believe is important, IMO it doesn't have to be too deep to make sense of a lot of languages, I study geography, and language geography/geolinguistics is one of my main lines of investigation, and when you study dialects, knowing a little bit of linguistics makes everything easier
As student of Spanish language and Literature at the University, here in Southern Brazil, my answer is Yes. Linguistics should be studied, I have linguistics classes and it helps me a lot on learning languages. And I'm doing Spanish, English, Italian, French, German,Latin and Russian during an week classes.
Just watched your why I won`t learn esperanto, and I compliment you an excellent argument. However I find your style of presentation just much too Intense, forced and superficially self assured. So, been there, done that, goodbye and good luck !!!
Currently in the process of switching my master, so your video title looked like an epiphany 😂 I totally agree with your opinion on linguistics! It helped me a lot with german and french. Now I guess I'll go back to browsing through university programs, and stop looking for quick fixes on UA-cam
For albanians it is not even nedeed in our language we can make every sound possible even on united letters.If we are talking about letters who can be spelled like D.h or D.j we can crate those using multiple letters of ours.So if you have a good knowlegde of our alphabet i am sure it will help

As a german leaner I can tell you, the cases are a bitch
