Amazing tutorial Paul. You're such an inspiring tutor and there is so much to learn in all your videos. I really love this one and I really want to thank you for your generosity in providing us with downloadable drawings. Without them I just wouldn't be able to tackle a lot of the work you show us so it is really important and a kindness that is rarely, if ever, shown by other tutors.

I absolutely love this picture. My husband and I have watched it several time. I started working in oils first before trying watercolour while traveling on the Queen Mary 2 for a retirement trip to England in 2019. I was able to take virtual watercolour classes during Covid and have developed a love for watercolour. I found your UA-cam site in the last few weeks and have learned alot from the various videos. This picture is definitely one that I want to try painting for my next project. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us.

@@ArtbyPaulClark Hi Paul, I am a total novice to watercolour painting and have been painting trees, people and the odd landscape to varying degrees of success. I was a technical engineer throughout my working life so everything was controlled to the thousandth of an inch and trying to let go of that has become somewhat a hindrance (I think I’m trying to be too precise). Again your tutorials are explained very, very well. Thanks

Dear Paul! Gosh, this gave me more cold sweat and (almost) nervous breakdowns than I care to admit. It looks so simple and innocent, but somehow I made more mistakes than ever before. But I also worked through them and learned a lot! As an example: phtalo turquoise and opera rose mix a wonderful lavender purple. All my other reds and blues, really don't. Saunders & Waterford paper really benefits from letting the water sink into it before painting (also makes the colour control way easier - first attempt had no visible space between the purple whatsoever). Scratching with a scalpel? Looks easy, needs practise! And so on and so forth. Now, this wasn't my first Paul Clarke Tutorial, I think I followed 8 of yours previously, but none had me as frustrated and doubting myself, like this one. However, thank you Paul, for challenging us! For making us want to improve! For your humour and kind heart! And all of your wonderful tutorials.
Ps: if I could add: I struggle with your tiny details and added on bits. I add details and it looks cartooney. I added stems to the lavender and they made no sense. Do the details and knowledge, what to add when, come with time?

Warm greetings, Paul, from the country where two inches of snow ARE just dusting and holding a snow shovel is more familiar than holding a paint brush😂❄️💙 So nice to follow you warning lavenders tips and dream of the summer! Thank you so much! I’m thinking of painting close up sunlit snowdrops peeking out of melting snow. Thanks again and waiting for your next tutorial.
