    The fan should have been equipped as a charger so you could stow and charge the battery simultaneously.

    Ryobi has come a long way since the old Nicad stuff....they weren't bad back then overall, just the batteries didn't last very long....I used to install garage doors and it would require 2-3 batteries to get the job done....then you'd have to find power in order to charge them before being able to move on to the next job. The battery technology has gotten a lot better with many different options out there, Ryobi is still a great DIYer and home owner platform and some light duty commercial use too.

    Is the multihead screwdriver kit available yet.
    Since I watched a video, I've been looking one, but can't find it online at all.

    I have some of the ryobi tools. Was wondering,I have the circular cordless saw,DO THEY make an attachment I can convert it into a table saw.?

    • @Protoolreviews
      @Protoolreviews  2 місяці тому

      No such attachment exists, and we'd definitely err on the side of caution if trying to put together something like that 😅

    That multihead screwdriver is a great idea! Getting multihead options without having to buy a $150 + multihead drill. The 3/8 drill just seems pointless. They already have cheapo drills. Why did they need to make a new version with even less features??

      You dont need multihead, just change the bit!!!!😂

    Ryobi has really upped there game. I ended up going with DeWalt a couple years ago (after watching many reviews). Not because of the quality of Ryobi - although their circuit saw at the time were not the best, but because I didn’t want to have only one outlet, Home Depot to get them.
    Another factor is why does Ryobi insist on keeping the old-style stem battery design? It just makes the batteries less compact, heavier and the drill handles thicker. Yes I know they say it is because they want their tools to be backwards compatible, but that is nonsense because you is still using Nicad batteries in new tools? Thye instead should just make an adapter so older tools could use the newer batteries.

    • @Protoolreviews
      @Protoolreviews  3 місяці тому +3

      Ryobi makes great tools! If their performance fits the power levels you need, we've always recommended them as a top budget pick.
      You hit the nail on the head with the stem pack, it's more about the new batteries being compatible with existing tools, and given that Ryobi prides themselves on having an extensive ecosystem, we wouldn't expect them to abandon the stem pack any time soon.

      Where do you see NiCd batteries? All of them that I get are lithium, just like everyone else.

      My original set was Dewalt, and I spent a lot of money for it too! Than they switched batteries so I couldn't add other tools that used same battery. So switched to Ryobi, because of same batteries fitting multiple tools. It was the best decision I could have made. There products work great for me.

    • @FunAtDisney
      @FunAtDisney 2 місяці тому

      @@chrismurray3390 Dewalt has made a 18v battery adaptor with a stem for years that your can slide on the current battery style. Yes, the 20v Max tools do need the lithium slide-on batteries, but they are so much better than the older style. more compact, longer lasting and perform in unison with the tool technology.

      Ryobi kept me as a customer when I bought a One+ string trimmer and realized I could convert my NiCd drill and 5.5" saw to Li-ion. I recently gave that drill and a couple of Li-ion batteries to my son-in-law-law when I bought one of the newer, smaller drills. Now I miss it. It has better speed control than the newer compact (not impact) models.

    Have they come up with a drill chuck that actually holds the bit yet?

    • @wildbill23c
      @wildbill23c 19 днів тому

      My Bauer and Hercules drills hold bits very well, sometimes you gotta fight with the chuck to get the bit back out LOL. My Dewalt drills had the same problem with not holding bits, I finally just replaced the chucks with generic Jacobs 1/2" chucks and that seemed to fix the issue with my Dewalt....pretty bad when an over-price supposedly "professional" tool needs to have parts replaced immediately to be usable....its one of several reasons I got rid of my Dewalt stuff.

    Until you need to replace a battery 😂 then you realize the battery is half the price of the brand new tool

    • @wildbill23c
      @wildbill23c 19 днів тому +1

      That's the case with any cordless tool platform, and so far I think Dewalt is the worst maybe Milwaukee being a close 2nd in terms of battery replacement costs....one of a few reasons I ditched Dewalt is because of their ridiculous battery prices which oftentimes cost more than the damn tool....and their tool prices have become outrageous too and quality has gone way down, plus other platforms have much better tool selections, Dewalt has fallen way behind when it comes to new tool releases, but they keep raising the prices on their already expensive batteries and tools and their performance isn't very good for the price either....when tools that cost half as much have better performance, and better battery prices there's no reason to stick to an under-performing tool company anymore. Since Dewalt has gone under the Black and Decker company they've gone way downhill in performance, but their prices have shot up drastically.
