Hi, i am now a step ahead!
No centered ailerons at the ground and no expert mode available …….
But i‘ve tried this bird today in calm wind conditions,- it fly or it die!!!!
1.) Plug in your lipo and hold the bird leveled to the ground in the other hand,- wait 3sec.
2.) Switch on your transmitter for binding.
3.)switch to beginner mode.
4.) Shake the Bird,- (notice: the ailerons are not yet centered!!!
5.) give 3/4throttle und throw it.
You will see this little crappy thing center the ailerons at the first second „in flight“.
I have removed the landing gear and the tail wheel, than the CG fits perfect too. The bf109 is a little bit heavier than the other 400mm Eachine Warbirds,- but without the gear, it goes in manual mode near vertical and flys as all the others of then.
Regards from Germany.
Yes!!!
Hy Brian,
my great grandfather flew a Messerschmitt Bf109 in World War II. When I was 15 years old, he always told me about it and showed me original film footage of the dogfight from his machine. Later until the end of his service he flew a Stuka.
WOW! That's very cool you got to see the videos!!!
This plane is a must buy.
I ordered this plane as soon as I was able to confirm it was part of the Eachine (volantex) 400mm Warbird series. I knew it would be good. It arrived today. I got the green camouflage one. It looks amazing.
Now I await the Japanese Zero.
Me too! I need that for the collection ;)
@@BrianPhillipsRC And don’t forget the Spitfire?
And then fifht agains the P-51
Happy Thanksgiving Brian & family .
Thanks for taken care of us coach dwellers .
You're welcome :)
Nice flying, as usual Brian, I do need to get one, if for no other reason than to sit on shelf next to the P51. It actually looks better. Happy thanks giving. Love the prop spitting exhibitions.
Thanks!
Love your work. Happy Thanksgiving. Keep them coming.
Thanks Claude!
Happy Thanksgiving, thank you guys.
You too G Bro! Thanks ;)
Happy thanksgiving Brian and Camera crew I love this plane I did not think it flies better then the Eachine P51 I don’t even like the Eachine P51 because it does not even take of smoothly and the Proop is not even good like the Eachine Mini BF 109 RTF. But love this plane I was thinking this plane is worst but it’s not I know it’s little bit smaller then the Eachine P51. But this plane takes off very smoothly and flies so good I can’t Believe. I’m glad that you are enjoying flying the Eachine BF 109. Well have a great thanksgiving day Brian. Keep it up 👍 I’m excited that you are enjoying.
Thanks!
finally a bf109! i’ve given up hope on a 500 or 750mm bf109 so this will do for now!
They won't do that for some time, in my opinion. The 500mm P-47 needed a ton of nose weight, but then I'm told it'll fly okay. The 750mm P-51 flew pretty bad too...stalled at 115 mph (JK....slight exaggeration)
Brian Phillips and family God bless you I've been flying for about 30 years on and off started when I was 16 I'm 66 now people still think I'm 50 I'm a go-getter and I've got four of the E machine claims P 51 Blue, P 40 Warhawk Zero 109 Messesmith
Awesome Gary! Glad you're enjoying the hobby. We GOTTA get you into a couple 1.2m warbirds - you would be so hooked, you'd never experience another "pesky" "off-again" period in your rc flying ;)
I have a whole fleet of these things, and I bought a Jumper T-Lite radio to use instead of the toy radios they come with. Fantastic upgrade, and the radio was only $100!
Yep, these OpenTX transmitters can really wake up some of these models. I wish I could talk these guys (Eachine, Yu Xaing, Wl Toys, Gool RC, etc) into making a REAL competitor for the UMX lineup, since these EPO models are nice, but just need better, heavier servos, and more robust air frames to be "hobby grade", and not that they don't have a place in the hobby, but they're still admittedly "Toy Grade". That being said, my sons fly them with impunity, crashing them about 50-75% of the time, basically screwing around for fun, since they CAN make decisions with these warbirds that we would NEVER make with a more expensive, way more fragile, but also better flying UMX.
Anyway, hope this makes sense. I love the SUPER SMALL, but still hobby grade offerings...which are so limited, and pretty expensive still.
Happy Thanksgiving Brian and Family!
Same to you!
Happy Thanksgiving... Brian ,Camera Crew, Family and all Subscribers. 🦃
You too Paul, and Thanks!
Cool! Happy T.G.!
Thanks & Happy Thanksgiving to you too!
Finally! An Axis Eachine. Thanks Brian.
yes
This one does fly well, I maidened mine yesterday, hope to edit my video soon.
Sure does!
Turkey for. You. Turkey for. Me. !!!!!
Happy Thanksgiving Phillips Family!!!!
Truth - thanks & Happy Thanksgiving!
Whish HH made one of these as UMX in a 50cm to 70cm. It would be so cool to place an FPV cam in such a plane.
already did it! so have others, its alright. weight the common issue
Yes, add-on with fpv gear would be great.
I guess amount the Eachine Mini series, probably the slightly larger P-47 500mm is a better choice, as that's the only one in these Eachine Mini being a extreme tailed heavy plane, add-on a fpv camera on its would be great to help balance it's CG and with it's extra large wing load should be good enough to carry the extra weight
I too wish HH would re-release the P-51 UMX and P-47 UMX - they were pretty dang good ;)
Sweeeeeeeeeeet! Eachine has killed it with this warbird line. Guess what?? They just released a Spitfire 400mm!
yep ;)
yea looks great and its cheaper
My Spit just arrived….without a tail wheel 🙄
I can get inspired to write a German war march just watching that plane fly. ;-)
I have the Spit and I just don't recognise it as a toy, it has four channels and will do aerobatics. Only the controller is less than hobby grade but still is sufficient quality for the job. I love the Spit, do a low pass and it looks breathtaking in it's camo paint job 👍
To all their own. I think it's one of the best "toy grade" planes out there, but I still do qualify it as a toy grade due to it's somewhat serviceable nature. That being said, I don't mean for that to take anything away from the amazing little thing it really is! These 400mm Warbirds are great! Not UMX plane great, but they're smaller too ;)
There's not a lot of time anymore when it get off work ,it almost dark. I'm gonna put a light kit on my 230 helicopter to fly after dark but it hasn't arrived yet..but that thing looks fun ..I like the smaller plans myself for the storage problem I have...I will have to look into that one
For sure! Night flying is so much less satisfying than during daytime...in my experience...but I want to make a way to fly at night that's good.
@@BrianPhillipsRC Im sure with some lights you would be able to very easily
Great video Brian, thanks for all you do for us. Quick question, are you ever going to be doing a build video on the FMS P-47 1500mm?
It's not on our short list, but we would do it for sure!
@@BrianPhillipsRC Awesome thanks for getting back to me Brian. Thank you for all you do for the thousands of us in the community. I'm new but I'm glad I'm part of it. I wouldn't be where I am today without you and your awesome instructional videos.
In “expert” mode mine immediately becomes uncontrollable.
yep, this is pretty common. If you can get the CG to come out a bit more nose heavy then tail heavy, you'll have better luck in "Expert" mode, but if you can't, it will always fly that way in "Expert" - this has been a "fatal flaw" for these little planes from almost every mfg we've covered...with some way worse than others.
Sorry to have to report this, but if you watch our many, MANY other 400(ish)mm warbird reviews, you'll see that as a commonality.
It flies good for a little plane.
sure does!
Just say the joke brian! don't hold back and the subs start coming
LOL - I can't even remember what nonsense I was going to let out ;)
fun lil toy
exactly!
Gooble gobble to all pilots ( and the camera crew ) !!!!!
Thanks - Happy Thanksgiving to you too Griffon!
Spitfire Time!!!
YEAH!!!
Amazing how much fun one can have for just a little over $100.
A lot!
flies great brian, but then your a great pilot.im gonna wait to see if you do a review on the new spitfire first , if you do one. and a merry xmas to you megan and the kids from spain
Thanks! We have it coming ASAP ;) We will for sure review it as soon as we get it.
Wow! An obscure Aerosmith song reference! Nice!
YES ;)
I know this is an old video, but I hope you see this comment. I just found out that you can fly these micro warbirds with the Jumper transmitter. The protocol is “V761”. A 3 position switch on channel 5 controls the 3 flight modes by going from 100%, 0%, and -100%. The stunt mode is controlled from channel 7 by going from 100% to 0%. Once you set up the model on the transmitter you can apparently fly any of the micro warbirds or micro planes with the same receiver board off of the same transmitter model. I haven’t tried setting this up yet, but I plan to bind my sport cub 500 to my jumper soon.
I've tried and failed on enough that I lost interest. That being said, thank you for the comment, because I have gotten it to work a few times, and when I do, the Jumper is WAAAAYY better than the stock tx ;)
@@BrianPhillipsRC I did successfully bind my Sport Cub 500. The only thing you lose is the stunt button since the jumper only has 5 channels for that protocol which is weird, but you can do better loops and rolls than that button anyway.
Nice flying bird....see they've released a spitfire now so period correct dogfight here we come!
Coming ASAP ;)
Hi Brian,
I have been flying these beautiful mini warplanes for some time now and would like to know your opinion on what would be the next step up to a larger easy to fly war birds to advance too. I have been out of the Rc game for a while but its like riding a bike, trike, quad, lol, mmm.
would love hear back from you.
Cheers
Anthony Smithson
Love the work you and your wife do. Very informative, and entertaining.
If you want the best experience, I'd suggest getting any of the EFlite 1.2m planes. They're a lot more money, and of course, bigger, but also would require the Transmitter.
bprc.me/F4U_Corsair
bprc.me/Fw190
Xk just came out with there mini bf 109 but its in cartoon type style thats short and stubby . You will have to check it out ! So cool
Eachine and XK are so similar...usually same molds, if you weren't already aware. They do use different Tx usually.
If I remember correctly, you were the one who initiated the reverse condition of the P51 Mustang's control surfaces, then consequently couldn't fly it because of this mode you locked it into. I own both planes and I can assure you both fly extremely well and I have never had any issues with either. The P51 Mustang is the best micro RC plane in terms of performance and control I own, I must have at least 20 micros. If you put the Eachine bf109 next to the Eachine P51 Mustang and compare them, you will see they are almost identical.
I have the volantex corsair,p51,& trojan..all fly well until a few rough landings then the electronics start acting up
This is a great plane, as was the P-51. Not sure if I am missing your point
What's up Brian! I love these planes! I have nine out of the 10 Warbirds, and this black/grey Bf109 is the only one I'm missing. If you or anyone seeing this has this Bf109 in good flying condition with no body damage and is willing to part with it, name your price and let's talk! Peace!
Hi great review.
Btw, it seems that this plane need to maintain at higher air speed comparing against other mini warbirds in this Eachine Mini series.
I think that might have been the conditions you were seeing....
On your review, I bought one. It flew great, but I had a “fly away”. I took my eyes off it for a second, then couldn’t find it. I dropped the throttle, put it in expert mode and put it into a dive. It went into a lot with lots of bushes. It’s in there somewhere. But damned if I can find it.
UPDATE: I looked more and found it undamaged. Yay!
Just curious, if it is a fly away, that mean you lose connection already! so how is trying to dropp throttle or put in down going to help when it is not responding to input?
Hi can I ask in your opinion is this the better plane throughout the 400mm warbird collection
Hello hope all is well happy holidays I was wondering which is the best I have a transmitter dx8gen2 but I'm thinking about getting the nx8 can you tell me if that's a good choice
Very good choice. We have only had ONE plane so far where it would have been nice to have ONE additional channel.
NX8 bit.ly/3mbVuNB
Don't bother with NX6 (even though it's on sale)...it's going to leave you wanting, and price difference is minimal.
Thx for the video, it was missing 🤣
What did you recommend, the BF 109 or the bigger eachine P-47D? Ok not realy the same 😇. I want to fly with some tricks, like rolls or looping. I think the P-47 is a little bit to slow. What did you think?
P-47 500mm SHOULD have been better, but the CG is way off with provided battery, so YOU have to make it fly well. They should have worked this out, and then we would have been able to share just how amazing it was.
@@BrianPhillipsRC
Thx for the reply. Yes, about the cg problem I read something, but it's not clear where it is, 14mm from the nose or more. But the p47 is slower like the others, that is a little fact why I think about it.
Ciao capitano. Complimenti per i video e la casa veramente un bel posto. Mi puoi consigliare il migliore di questi mini aerei secondo te? Grazie 💪💪
The best one, is the one you love! They're all FUN, but the best flying ones seem to be the 400mm size class. We've been doing the 450mm sizes recently, and have had more issues with them so far...

Hi Brian, I have the P-51 version and absolutely love it but I'm considering getting an open TX transmitter just for flying that plane. If I wanted to go that route and not spend very much on a transmitter yet get a transmitter that definitely is a step up from the one that came with the plane, what would you recommend?
Check out the Radiomaster TX12.
@@js32257 Thank you!
@@baerster You're welcome. Flysky FS-i6X is also an option (cheaper) but it wasn't designed with OpenTX in mind. The interface might be more clunky and you'd have to flash OpenTX to it yourself but it is about half the price of the Radiomaster TX12 and will run OpenTX. I am not sure what protocols it would support. Maybe the same as the Radiomaster. You'd have to research a little.
"YouTub this is Brian Philips"....lol
That's me ;)
I was wondering if you have tried to fly that plane inverted. I have a corsair and a trojan about the same size and neither one will fly inverted very well but I have an XK rare bear the same size and it will fly inverted all day could you let me know if that plane flies inverted well thank you
The plane WILL fly upside-down in Experienced Mode if you're good with the STOCK Tx...which has less than desirable gymbles...a common issue on RTF Tx'es.
@@BrianPhillipsRC yes I agree. I can fly the XK rare bear inverted with the stock transmitter my eachine Corsair and Trojan fly downward inverted. They all have eachine aio cameras on them.
Wish I'd got a multiprotocol radio so I could use mine eachine toys with a decent radio. I think they use the volantex protocol.
Shame this has a three blade prop. Will have to add to the stash of spares!
I love the three bladed prop - looks better and better ground clearance!
P.S. These 3 blade props DO fit the T-28 ;)
@@BrianPhillipsRC I excellent news!!!!
The Bf109 looks unstable compared to P51, Corsair, or Trojan... Do you think that it is really worth the money? As you know, the price of it is almost two times that of P51. Anyway, thank you for your video. It is very helpful to decide whether to buy the BF109 or not.
I think the P-51 is a great choice, and if it's cheaper, and that's your criteria, then get what you like better ;) The prices are all over the map for these planes. I HATE that they change the price every other day, which is a big part of the reason we don't ever talk about price. We know how annoying it is to be watching a video about a $75 plane, only to go to the website and realize it's now $140 - so frustrating!

I'm sorry, I have no idea what you asked...bad translation???
@@BrianPhillipsRC the main cuestión is that I found this Airplane, which is the same and diferent box , and also under Aliexpress dealer, and is not Eachine brand, why, it's a good point

I haven't had this issue, but admittedly don't fly them many times.
What if i put an old umx electronic set, to make it hobylbygrade? Would it be better?
100%, would be, but since this plane is a bit smaller than the UMX planes, I doubt you could fit it all in the air frame ;( Sorry to report, but if you can prove me wrong, I'd be excited to hear about your success story!
@BrianPhillipsRC I will try! Eventually. I'll just order custom umx parts, likely umx p51 receiver, and regular linear micro servos. Which SUCK in quality, but kind of make up for it in performance... a lot of my linear servos jitter horrendously in wind and are worse to fly than these little warbirds in wind.
Side note, better yet, get the eachine p47, which was a failure, and since it's larger, install umx electronics into it.

Can someone tell me if this can be bound to a DX6e? I have a feeling that the RTF transmitter will be annoying :D
It cannot. These little ready-to-flies don't fly on DSMX protocol and won't work with a Spektrum transmitter... hence whey we have a million of these rtf transmitters sitting around.
