100% agree with this. I have added FPV to everything. The quads started it. The planes all got iNav and cameras. I *Just* finished a truck with an articulating FPV Stig head. It's a hobby ( _not an addiction_ ) The dog is next, if I can't find something else to strap a VTx to!
How did it affect the flight time and the models flying characteristics? I have the same plane and I’m thinking about converting it to an fpv. Also what parts did you use?
@@achimastosjohn6521 Just a random all-in-one FPV mini FPV cam like Whoops use, with it's own tiny lipo battery. Didn't noticeably affect flight time or characteristics.
There are analog setups now under 2g the eachine tx06 I think is the lightest you can literally FPV all but, the smallest of indoor flyers it's so cool to a micro head like myself. Those machine gun noises had me crackin up
Very nice I think I get one of those. Haven't flown yet but I have just bought my first fpv set planned for a much larger plane. This could be a good training set to start with.
I don't have a Mustang but I do have the similar T28 from the same series and, I agree, they're great fun. I have mine bound to my Horus with a multiprotocol module in the JR housing. You don't mention which stabilisation level you used. I find the Intermediate OK, even in a breeze, but the 'Expert' mode (which has zero stabilisation) a bit of a challenge. The endurance is amazing - I usually fly for around 10 minutes but I've heard 20 minutes are possible. I find I need to use a lot of rudder in the turns to keep the model close enough for my old eyes to see and orientate it but I guess with fpv that's not an issue. Great experiment, and it revealed where the electronics are situated.
Great stuff! you could've saved a few grams in weight if you'd ditched the metal camera holder and the piece of plywood, and just double-sided taped down the camera, and then further secured it with a short piece of cable tie. That's how I secure these aio cams on my ultra-light models :-)
I still have the shitty cam and vtx from my tinyhawk freestyle sitting under the bench. Ive been thinking of this for a while, and you have provided the kick in the arse I needed haha. The tiny mustang is a great plane eh Thanks uncle Bruce. Happy flying mate
At 04:50 you can see he's soldered his camera wires to two points on the flight controller. It's nice to see that the stock hardware already has the capacity for this! :)
Awesome! You might be able to mount the camera on a 4g servo and parallel it with rudder to get some pan action. Think it might be cool to see a wing in view as did a turn. Another option, is a 2mm carbon rod, and you could pair two of these together to make a formation flyer. (could even join 3x of these and be under 250g).
Hi Bruce Don't you know when great minds start thinking and BOOM. I had one of those back in the 90s. I think it was made by flighttest ? Something like that. They had the Zero and Corsair. The only difference between us is I'm using the Eachine TX2 25mw and the AKK FX-3 that's 200mw. One of my friends has a Timberwolf who has the TX2 , I also did my rc race car, and a horizon Rock rey, JATO and the TEMPER all have cameras. I just did a quick video with the rock rey. Anyway Thanks again for the video. Have fun and stay healthy for we can watch your RANTS.
Great video. This is my first time viewing your channel. I'm hoping to do some micro fpv stuff like this. Getting back into RC planes after a 30 year break. Things have changed a bit, for the better.
About to get a 400mm Mustang or Corsair and was wondering if they could handle an FPV camera. So thanks for this video. I'm just not keen on flying by watching it from the ground lol. I gotta be "in the cockpit" plus it'll just feel much cooler.
Typo there. The "Sonik" re-brand label of the OEM Volantex stuff available in the UK and elsewhere has nothing at all to do with the SonicModel/ZOHD gear. 🙂
@Sema Dragun If you're talking about the R0de mic I'm not sure of the range because I don't usually operate beyond 20m or so. If you're talking about the P51 it seems good for at least 150m with the Jumper TLite transmitter but I'll fly further to see when it failsafes.
Hey, you sound JUST like xJet, who always wins every contest on Botgrinder's streams! Haha jokes, but nice upgrade video, throwing FPV on that is a fun idea 😎
Hi Bruce - Another excellent review - love the energy you put into reviews! However I wouldn't touch Bangood with an electric cattle prod - TOO MANY disastrous purchase attempts (and following lies) in the past - and surprise, surprise "unable to ship to your country" both Aus and NZ.
G'day Bruce. Great video! I've ordered the plane today based on your video. Question about the T-Lite (I have a T-Lite and I love it). You mentioned that you bound it to the Jumper T-Lite; which protocol setting do you use on the T-Lite? Even better, if possible could you do a video on binding it to the T-Lite? Tim
The Jumper JP4in1 module will work great. You will need to update the QX7 firmware and should also update the module firmware at same time for all the latest features.
Hi Bruce. Hope you well v thanks again for all your input in our rc hobby. I would like to ask you some advice on buying a new transmitter. I love the radio master tx16 s max and now there is a eachine tx16s out now. Which one would you buy. Please help. Kind regards Johan from South Africa 😊
Would be awesome if they were making something like this, but running on a 14500 (AA, ~30grams) or 10440 (AAA, ~8grams) li-ion cell, so you can just plop a fresh one in without messing with these fiddly lipo connectors.
Love the idea! Just bought the Sky04L goggles to get into the FPV hobby but not sure how the stock antennas will do. Any suggestions on what to look for as upgrades?
Hey flyers, question! How do you know when to replace the transmitter 4xAA batteries? Will it give a warning beep or flash of some sort? The idea of losing the transmitter and having the plane disappear into the distance sounds disastrous but there's no mention of this in the manual. Thanks!
What's your opinion on the feel of this model to fly, compared to your more regular fixed wings? It's an incredibly fun plane, but it doesn't feel the same. to me Maybe it's the lack of risk, maybe it's because the plane is very 'squirrely' as the RC Saylors say, when you switch the gyro off (which is how I always fly). I don't know what it is, but there's something really goofy about the way this plane performs. My biggest gripe is how sensitive the wings are to changes in airspeed, you can't gain any speed without having to push forward on the stick and so I'm spending most of my time swooping. Already having a P-51D and not flying it as much as my homemade planes does make it hard to justify buying another... But not impossible - I've ordered the Spitfire. 😂 Here's hoping the elliptical wing makes it fly differently! Otherwise, I've essentially spent £80 on a skin haha!
@@ShutterSymphonies very much worth it! 😃 The Spit is nothing like P-51 in flight. It is much more agile, more capable and with that; less stable, so it adds a nice bit of challenge. I actually appreciate my P-51 even more now. I crash my Spitfire so much that even though I don't have to worry about breaking anything, walking halfway across the field to pick it up and throw it again can get annoying haha! The Spitfire and P-51 always come out together, so when I've finished flying the Spitfire, I fly the P-51 for a more leisurely flight.
What is a good first set up 2 get for fpv im very keen to get into it but i have a nitro truggy and wondering if the engine noise and vibrations will mess with the camera
hi: dear sir: Can I ask you? I say if I have a drill bit that punches 1/2 inch holes. (one of those hole maker bits) Can I drill holes all over the plane to take out the EPP foam? I can then cover the holes with either monokote or some light sticky tape. If the holes are placed in non-structural areas, I fathom the plane could be lighter. I have heard that these little things are heavier than one would expect. Could a person go into the weeds with lightening mods? thx. dude. Sweet!
Hi,i want to fpv my axn floater jet,i will use the same goggles but want to know what camera you would suggest to use ?i want something with good quality

Rc crawlers are great to FPV as well! 😊
@Sema Dragun Not really. Crawlers have a fantastic suspension and they run pretty slowly. 😊
My dog shook too much (been there ;-) ).
It's the likes of you spreading the rumours that RC should be fun!
"Not even a choking hazard!" Brilliant. &: LONG LIVE THE RED-TAILS!
Did someone say redtail
Excellent review, great to see a reviewer enjoy the hobby and give practical and proven review.
Surprisingly good! Also great camera choice. The CCD makes the prop look like a prop and not a wiggly mess~~
I did the same with their little pusher jet. Same view, no prop, way fast. So fun regardless.
I FPV'd my Volantex Sport Cub 500. Lots of fun on 1S!
Cool dude! I put floats on the mini mustang p51d, and now it lands on water, video is live.
It can't takeoff, but it's great fun practicing landings
A whole lot of fun with a small plane, good for practice. I like the sound of FOV dog fight 👍🏻
There are analog setups now under 2g the eachine tx06 I think is the lightest you can literally FPV all but, the smallest of indoor flyers it's so cool to a micro head like myself.

Hi Bruce. Fun and enjoyment is what its all about. 👍
Agreed have like 7 of these little guys absolutely love the pusher prop jet planes they make too.
Very nice I think I get one of those. Haven't flown yet but I have just bought my first fpv set planned for a much larger plane. This could be a good training set to start with.
Absolutely, you can crash this tiny plane as much as you want without having to worry.

The max I’ve got out of my Eachine corcair was 25 minutes
Nice FPV flight. Flying those Micro Planes via FPV is a lot of fun. See you in the Air!

Always enjoy watching your videos. Stay Blessed!
I think he got something there😉 GREAT JOB ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
been wanting to do this to my mini p51 these planes are great just got the f4u also me and my daughter fly them all the time
Micro rc fpv?..Genius 🤓👍
That's like me in 2015 with my UMX Radian and a tiny little custom FPV setup. Great fun!
ua-cam.com/video/uB7UTKsVAOc/v-deo.html
it reminds me of the little foam P51 I used to have from Hobbyzone when I was a teen
I did this with my Corsair. So much fun!
OK, so next. Outlaw part 2 build
BRILLIANT!! Another GR8 Vid from you!!!! Straight to the point!!!
Any imperfections will be perfect
Hi Bruce it was Eflight and Spektrum that made it. Thanks again for the video and repeat.
What a superb plane, and interesting with the FPV. Great recommendation.
Absolutely amazing Bruce. I have one of these and an very tempted to do surgery!! Great video, as always. Thanks and cheers from Oz.
how did you wire the camera to the power...???? you skipped that bit....
I still have the shitty cam and vtx from my tinyhawk freestyle sitting under the bench. Ive been thinking of this for a while, and you have provided the kick in the arse I needed haha. The tiny mustang is a great plane eh
Thanks uncle Bruce. Happy flying mate
Wish you all the best! No vids for such a long time means no good in whatever aspect
Nice! I love that little foamy - looks even better with FPV! Great video.
Bruce thank you for what you do. I enjoy your videos!!!!
Sweet, I have one that I rigged up a camera and vtx on and haven't flown it yet. Looking forward to it though.
Mounted my camera on the bottom.
I have never gotten into fpv flying in this video really makes me want to do it.
Would be interesting to see how you connected the power supply for the FPV camera. Love those little warbirds!
At 04:50 you can see he's soldered his camera wires to two points on the flight controller. It's nice to see that the stock hardware already has the capacity for this! :)
i love this guy. he sounds exactly like taggart from eureka ha ha ha and thats a compliment !

Or maybe connect the cam to the rudder servo.. or rudder control arm?
Fixed wing FPV is really awsome! nice work sir!
The best fun is to do this in tight spaces like a small forest .. so much fun

Fantastic flying, Bruce! 😃
Beautiful little airplane! Great review!!!
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Great ,beautiful, stay safe...are you a Bot
Very impressive Bruce. I must get one. Awesome job mate. 👍
And of course are 200mW enough - *in an open field!*
;)
Nice review!
What kind of goggles are you using, and what type of helical?
Hey Bruce, your audio sounds AMAZING outdoors! What is your mic set up? I can see you're using a wireless LAV, what kind is it?
It's the R0de Wireless Go system. Had it for a couple of years now and it's been flawless.
@Sema Dragun If you're talking about the R0de mic I'm not sure of the range because I don't usually operate beyond 20m or so. If you're talking about the P51 it seems good for at least 150m with the Jumper TLite transmitter but I'll fly further to see when it failsafes.
Nice flight! Everyone i saw a video from about this plane says its awesome and everyone should have one, maybe ill buy it too someday 😄
Looking forward to an FPV Hindenberg style blimp.
Complete with hydrogen
Hey, you sound JUST like xJet, who always wins every contest on Botgrinder's streams!
Haha jokes, but nice upgrade video, throwing FPV on that is a fun idea 😎
7:54 Arnold duck 👏
This thing flying well fpv my eachine p51 are now with 25mw aio fpv is so stable
Bruuuhuuuuce.... were you shooting blades of grass again....?!?
=P :D
Unik and beautiful bro ..👍👍

Nicely done!!
What's your thoughts on putting a decent vtx and cam on a max thrust Ruckus Bruce, with cobra x goggles and menace rc antenna.
Hi Bruce, enjoyed that, where did you tap into to power the camera VTX please?
I now see it demonstrated just after you removed the canopy!
You've got cool stuff on your channel Sir I love it 😃👍
We can add a flat cell mobile battery more Lighter than that :D
Is there a multiprotocol module I can get for my qx7 Tarranis to fly this plane?
If the Jumper Tx works then the IRangeX multimodule should also work as they both use the same code.
The Jumper JP4in1 module will work great. You will need to update the QX7 firmware and should also update the module firmware at same time for all the latest features.
It's madness that in the UK this would need to be registered as it has a camera!
Only if you can be bothered to do so.. All 25 of my craft have cameras, fly responsibly and safely and you,ve nothing to worry about. Happy flying
maaaaannnnn ...... this is DOPE!!!

I wonder if you could put a tiny 2 cell in for longer flight time.
I totally did this with my mustang and the control link is crappier than the camera range and I lost the plane hahaha. Easy come easy go! XD
Makes me wanna finish my 30mm EDF Yak 23
Love the idea!
Just bought the Sky04L goggles to get into the FPV hobby but not sure how the stock antennas will do. Any suggestions on what to look for as upgrades?
thanks heisenberg!
Flyzone used to have that same 'fly off' prop. And owners were constantly losing props
Yep. Use a Texta to paint them a bright colour. They can be hard to spot in the grass/scrub if left plain black.
cheers! great video I just ordered both things from the links, i cant wait to give it a go!
Which camera is attached to the vtx?

Is the beginner mid and expert modes still available if using the Jumper T-Lite transmitter. Many thanks and great content.
I would like to know this too. I have the Volantex ranger 600 and I think it uses the same protocol.
I have the exact same plane and would like to bind it with my tx16s. Can you tell me what protocol it is using?
I wish they would sell the P51D without the transmitter so I could get another P51D... I already have a Transmitter from the 1st one I bought .

What is protocol jumper for bind that's plane.... thanks
Can you do a tutorial how to get the fpv camra on the plane and where i get the goggle
How slow can you fly it, in case you want to get a longer viewing time on objects not in the air with you???
I have eachine t28 trojan, how to find cg position, i also want to install fpv for t28 trojan like your video
cool video

What's link for cam too ur link only does controller for cam

do you know how do you know when the transmitter power (The original one.)is on low battery?
What would you recommend for an OSD and telemetry on this little plane? I'd like to get some more range out of it. Very nice review!
Glue it to your DJI quad. Then you will have all the OSD, telemetry and range that you want! 🙃😉

sir, is fpv rc plane easier to control then the rc plane without fpv? I have the same model as yours.
