  • This week, we’re bringing you the latest video from a series that we call Home Espresso Brewing with April. We are back in Copenhagen, visiting local home brewers to see their approach to dialing in a mystery coffee.
We believe that innovation in coffee brewing starts at home, and that some of the most special and meaningful interactions with coffee can take place within your own kitchen.
As we are frequently travelling visiting our international partners, we decided to introduce this format as a way to interact with you on a different level whilst maintaining the frequency of our videos.
In this video, Jens dials in the mystery coffee using his home espresso set up consisting of a DF64 grinder with multipurpose burrs and the slow grind attachment, scales from Sopresta and Sense, a Profitech Pro 500 PID Espresso Machine, a Normcore Tamper and an assortment of small tools of which some were homemade.

@@coffeewithapril my Ditting Lab Sweet 807. It would be nice to have burrs that were specific tailored to your coffees. Preferably espresso.

Hi, i have a df 64 grinder with the stock burrs and for me they are not inaf for make good coffee, they are ok but i would need more clarity in the coffees, im thincking about to change into a sculptor 78s, but i dont know if should be better than simply change to an other burrs in the df64.

The grinder is good but I don't think you'll get more flavour clarity from it.
Which stock burrs in your df64?

@@jorgetobc2383 Sounds like the newer version with DLC coating then? Those I haven't tried but they're supposed to be pretty good, if you're wanting more clarity try slow feeding the coffee into the burrs. Also high extracting basket might help. If you want higher clarity you're probably better off upgrading to the SSP MP burrs rather than swapping to the 078s grinder, it was more of a balanced profile on that... not bad clarity but I would suspect DF64 with those burrs wouldn't be too far off from the 078s.
