I love the noir layout. However the fact that swapping the buttons required additional effort to swap them to crowns (also my preferred button type) makes the stick less desirable. I have an obsidian and while I don't mind the door, I wish the cable compartment was larger, like the Hori compartment on my SCVI stick. I don't understand why Qanba sticks with that design. Does it have all the same lighting effects as the obsidian? It isn't a big feature but the lighting for rumble is kind of nice on the obsidian.
Noire button layout for the win. I myself play on PC so I just use a MC Soul Calibur V X360 stick. It's nice "regular" folks got (essentially) an 0bsidian with Noir setup, cause previously I only saw special editions given to pro players (UYU Tekken players, to be speciffic.)

Hi jonyfraze, I see you opened up the case and had to mod a screw in button to fit. Did you notice if the joystick area had the 4 extra countersunk mounting holes for the Seimitsu LS-32 found in most Qanba cases ? I could not find any info about this online. Take care
Damn even with Noir layout screw buttons still are a pain, I use the gamer fingers screw in on the Viewlix layout Obsidian, and they was a hard fit,somehow i got them in.
This has me curious to get a Noir panel for my Obsidian. I briefly had a Hori Fighting Edge that broke after a week (I'm assuming I was unlucky) and I never felt I had enough time to get used to the Noir layout. I still have a MadCatz TE2 if I want to go back to Vewlix anyway...
I wish I could buy the Qanba Obsidian with a Noir layout directly instead of having to buy a base Obsidian and then buy the Arcade Shock conversion for more money.. I wish they made a Qanba Obsidian Noir.. the Noir layout is just superior all the way around.. I don't know one fightstick player that prefers Vewlix over Noir while owning both..

Makes no sense to switch from an Obsidian to a pearl, since the only real difference is the layout. Rather just go to arcadeshock and get one of their replacement panels.
i know this is a long shot to get an answer but do you have to cut the screw rings for the triangle button? because i had an issue installing gamerfinger buttons

I was just about to buy this stick as my first fight stick. Does anyone know if changing the ball top is just as simple as unscrew and then rescrew? I'd really like a silver balltop
Remove bottom cover, flat head screw driver so hold the shaft in place, unscrew old one. Just be mindful of the wires connecting the headset input on the bottom cover, it’s easier to unplug them.

Yeah the lighting effects is still intact.

My only concern is the number of USB-A & USB-C ports on the PS5. If the only USB-A port is charging-only, this could be a problem for existing sticks.

Possible, but same issue as the crown buttons with the 2P buttons screw touching the PCB

both a solid choice, just depends on which aesthetics you like better. Also the Pearl can be modded with artwork down the line via a plexi swap.

Stock pearl is square gate. Mine is modded with a “Rounded Square” gate - Otto DIY V5 mod. Octo gates are trash IMO.
