The doctors say I’ll probably never ride again but I am only 20 years old so hopefully I’ll recover enough to eventually ride the old Honda again. Love what you guys are doing! Keep the 2 strokes coming!!

There’s also a possibility that that this surgery won’t work so I’ll have to get wrist fusion which would limit my range of motion to less than half. I have at least another two or three months of recovery left but I need to stay positive!
@@FirstNameLastName-ul5mj you'll be good. Just stay positive and do what the physio says is key to getting as much movement back as possible. I have a titanium rod through my left leg with screws just above the anxle and screws at the other end below the knee. It's fine that was 20 years ago used to give a few probs in winter but it's coming even better now than ever. I also put a foot peg through my knee after tumbling in a bad landing on a jump that went wrong on my kdx200 around 20 years ago too and it's good as gold now too, Along with many other injuries that don't bother or affect me in riding at all. You still have your right hand to twist the throttle mate and not a biggy if your left didn't get full range of motion again, just keep doing what the physio tells you though. Just keep it pinned and go hard 🤙 you'll be good.
This biggest step in power up was 92. Them things were explosive. In fact they spent the next few years trying to smooth. The KX motor was also a monster.
Great Job, Devin. This CR is gorgeous. Love the two tone color seatcover. Also love the factory GasGas two tone Red and Blue Seatcover. Might have to eventually get one from y'all for my bike, and save the stock one.

Had one when I was 15 and had to find another at 25.
The last newer bike I rode was a 01. Cr125 . Paid 3800 used like new .best handing , soft seat . Sold it to another older gentleman to race local .perfect bike .
Best and becoming the most unobtanium as far as parts are becoming, still sick about letting my ‘01 go…this is one of my favorite bikes I’ve seen on the channel 👍🏻🇺🇸

Nice job Kap,I have the same model but an 03.its built.the engine went to Pro Circuit completely done up.the suspension went to Factory Conn.used to race it back in the day.its a Rocket super crisp and a blast to rip!😁

A lot of people say this last Cylinder reed 2 stroke Honda is the best ever, I personally find that if you put the Vforce 3 reeds and the 38mm pwk striker carb (Keihin) on the 02 - 05 Case reed Motor (that everyone seems to hate) that is the best Honda motor to me. When I started looking around, I found people that were selling this 2001 seemed to mark the price way up, which makes sense considering everyone raves about it being the last cylinder reed motor and the "best honda 2 stroke 250" but you can find 2002 - 2005 for a lot less money and they seem to be less beat up. The guy I got mine from, he had it all stock it was 17 years old when I bought it and still had the stock tires on it, because the guy said that the bike was "scary" and after riding it that way for a while I realized what he meant, that stock mikuni carburetor is so touchy, if the DA (density altitude) changes just a bit its like you are on a different bike, so you ride it all day one day, and you think you are used to it and the next day suddenly the thing feels like it has 10 more horse power or visa versa. If I were a pro racer with a team of mechanics to dial in that carb every day, It would be great, but for the every day rider, swapping to keihin its just a much more predictable / ridable bike. The other thing people complain about on the case reed bike is the power valve is actuated by cable, and requires adjustment here and there, but really once the cables are broke in, you get them adjusted and you won't have to touch it again until the next time you rebuild the top end. Anyway, if you are riding motocross style yeah, maybe the 2001 cylinder reed, but if you want a 2 stroke enduro for the woods, the case reed motor with the alterations mentioned above is the way to go. (in my opinion)
This was my favorite dirt scooter I've ever owned. I happily rode mine for a couple years with stock exhaust. I should have have never sold it 😢 for several reasons. Regrets

But this time I have a genuinely legit question. .....If there are indeed "best years" of bikes, I need to know them ALL! Ill be looking forward to a Kaplan series starting with 2 smokes. There are best years of each brand of bikes and then of course standouts in that Arena such as the 500s like the CR500 has always been a perennial favorite pretty much any year after 89 but if you get a 97 or newer you get the latest suspension

12 screws and 2 plates in my right arm for 15 years now. They never took them out

I bought one for me and a 125 for the kid the same day in 2001 Set it up for the woods Central Illinois. It did what it was suppose 2!
I loved mine. Bought it new, rode and raced it for 13 years.

Bought a 1999 new. Still have it! I know the frame was stiff compared to this gen frame. I love mine. It never let me down.

I was a pro mechanic, sx, MX, on 96-2002. The hardest running was the aluminum frame. It's so stiff, no flex.

Throw that Gnarly pipe in the trash, you are doing it a diservice. It needs the fatty or SST. Unless you have the stock pipe. Keep up the great work!

Never understood the hype behind the 01. I've owned one, and it wasn't anything spectacular to me. My 1991 and 94 were much faster to me...
