In today's video I go through the quick and easy steps to help you rent and set up a server for the Game Ark: Survival Evolved. I am using the GPortal Platform because I find it to be very intuitive and easy to use.

Thank you, that definately helped. I intend to rent a server and will definately check them out. I was hoping I could use both PVP and PVE. Im not much of a fighter, lol, but wish to make sure my game is secure. And if anyone ever creates a train mod to go with my Steampunk mod, I will build an entire world there lol
Awesome video! Such a time-saver! I wonder tho, is it possible to just transfer to a new map after say finishing aberration without having to have two servers running side by side?

I could not find the link to use for your settings. I have used your single player setting, but on g-portal it does not listed the same. Can you show g-portal settings. I went right out after this video and got a g-portal server, but can't figure out the setting. Thank you.

hello i opened a pve server with gportal on ark.. i have a problem dinosaurs are high level but their health is very low like torpor.. do you know how i can fix this? I also have other things to ask you but I don't think this is the right place here..
I have just used a second PC and ran a free program which at this time I dont remember the name of it, worked great may do it again I always forget the commands lol
Re finding your steam ID - have they made it easier now? I go to my name in Steam in top right hand side where it shows my wallet balance, click down to my account details, and the steam ID is listed right below my name? Can copy right from there.
Can you edit the .ini files directly with G-portal?

Hi Phlinger, I have a server through GPortal for Aberration. It runs ok, but glowbugs leave their little clouds behind until it covers the whole map. Reset was only a temporary fix… any suggestions?

I'm a bit confused about slots and maps. My kid and I want to play Ark together on clustered servers. We'd like to be able to explore about 6 of the maps, only 2 maps would be active at any time (because there are just the 2 of us). How do we get the best value for money from GPortal servers?
You could have 20 slots, 10 for each server and then have a Base Server where you keep all of your tames and main base and the other one as a rotating server that can be swapped for other maps. Just remember that swapping maps deletes the previous save, so just swap when you are done with the previous one.
@@Phlinger I'm an admin on my 3 man playthrough. I do all the admin/server stuff but my buddy's son pays for the playthrough. I noticed that I can change the slots on GPortal so I changed our 10 slot server to 4 slots leaving 6 unused slots, but does my friend have to be "the one" to make another server/world with the left over slots? I looked for an option but could not. I am heavily into decoration/architecture and would love to save our current map as our "Main Ark". This is possible current?

How do you change ownership of the server? My brother was running 3 servers but can’t financially afford to do that anymore. However, I really want to keep all of my data and take over. Can you please help me?
Should be as easy as changing the direct debit and swapping the password with him.
you didn't actually show how to buy a cluster of survers. only the option to allow player transfer. how to you change 20 slots into 2 10 slots?
What are slots for? Is that for the amount of player slots?
So say you buy 10 slots. If Ark is your game of choice you can keep it as a default 10 slot single server. Or you can make a 4 slot "Server/World" then make another "Server/World" that is also 4 slots. If you give both of these "Servers" the same "Host" Location you can then give them both the same "Cluster ID". This will enable you to travel between the 2 worlds/servers with the same character without losing any progression. I am in the process of setting this up myself actually for my 3 man group

@Phlinger I'm getting mixed messages on how to use this on ps4, my friend introduced me to ark yesterday and I was wanting to own a server so we didn't have to deal with host barriers, if I rent a server will there still be host barriers ?
