Samples: "Sarabande No. 1" (Erick Satie) performed by Daniel Varsano (1992) "Heavy Duty Dub" performed by Harry Mudie and King Tubby (1976) "Royal: I've got six weeks to set things right with you and I aim to do it. Will you give me a chance? Chas: No. Royal: Do you speak for everyone? Chas: I speak for myself" and another dialogues from The Royal Tenenbaums (2001), even a Bark by Buckley the dog? is heard in certain times (probably a deep connection with Noah's father and his dog Derek)
So much of Panda's music reminds me of one of my favorite pastime activities... Smoking a ton of marijuana, sampling and then looping some odd sound, and vocalizing over it in as many obscure ways I possibly can for hours on end. :)
Why would anyone wanna do this? :( This is time stretching (changing tempo and not pitch), which can only be done to a certain extent before it starts to sound weird! It'd be a different thing if you changed tempo AND pitch, I think. Oh well to each their own

"I speak for myself" is from the Royal Tenebaums.

The song feels like heaven!
Panda Bear has sampled Satie twice now it would seem, Sarabande No. 3's opening chord is repeated in Scheherazade on his album Tomboy.
brilliant
This song has too much class.
@shonenjo The piano loop is "Sarabande No. 1" from erik satie.

The coolest part is I don't think you have to learn much. It's such expressive art that as much of a craft as it is it's deep in all of us
let it out. try it however :)
You have invented muzik
The piano loop is "Sarabande No. 1" from erik satie.

does anyone know where i can find the live version of this song? i remember its intensity...
A bit late but he plays it in the people party DVD show which you can find here on youtube
Why did they take this off spotify
Because spotify is a convenient useful frustrating disappointment
probably sample clearance issues?
I TRIPPED OUT TO THIS WHEN I WAS RIPPED
hooooooly shit I forgot how much of a jam this is
I think that the skriklicki sound in the background is in Untying the Knot and in Derek
Not positive, but I think the bassline might have been sampled from "Heavy Duty Dub" by Harry Mudie & King Tubby
@quadruplewide B-side to Take Pills to be specific. Great track.

@@Rainborn When he said speed it up, he meant: adjust the tempo and pitch. Everyone knows that, nobody wants to listen to chipmunks
@@FLUNTER no he is referring to the function here on youtube sadly

DUB!!!
erik satie sample for sure
He must have been hanging out with Ariel Pink a lot around this time. Listen to those "drums".
my thoughts exactly, even this track reminds me a lot of the ariel's early era which has a lot of vox with delay and those drums are so ariel
i want to see someone rap over this
can u remake the beat?
i find no meaning in those samples. i like the music though. i guess. needs moderation. panda bear is boss forsure though.
