thanks to all you awesome folks that were in the premiere chat, i seriously havent laughed that hard in a while....I guess we gotta work on a better way to do cool shit like that with you guys. We love doing those, and we love the instant feedback, but the chat was flying by so fast lol i was typing replies as fast as i could but my keyboard skills just aint up to snuff lol. My apologies to those that showed up to hang out and chat but ended up spending their own time and energy reading/replying to shitty horrible comments from a few attention starved fake accounts. For those that didnt get their legitimate questions answered in the chat, post them here. As usual i will hang around for a while and answer as many as i can......
Ps....Im always in here to checkout the feedback/suggestions and answer legitimate questions. But just so you know i dont post content putting down others, and i dont spread rumors/gossip about other men on the internet. The internet is already packed full of enough negativity and hate....no sense in adding to it lol. Thanks for watching everyone! As always im gonna hang around a while and try to answer as many as i can! The last video got 8000ish comments in a week, so needless to say i cant get to all of them, but im gonna try!!!
Pss..lol also we are working to start releasing two vids a week and we are hopeful that will happen in the next few weeks....fingers crossed!

Chief- I’ve been watching you since the show first came out, and I love what you do, and Jackie too. What I thank you for the most, is that my 13 year old son.. and I have our time where we watch the show- he loves watching (I of course hope that he doesn’t start doing it!) 🤣 I have a 99-SS Camaro- she’s garage kept and he always asks when he’s going to get to drive it. Luckily it’s a stick- so I think I have a little bit of time before I have to worry. But I just wanted to thank you again…. We will always be supporters!

Hi Chief: most people don't understand 18 degree heads have necked down studs so the ports can be widened out to the maximum size. That means for people who do not know the 7/16 thread s are then necked down to 3/8 making them weak. I had a big block with studs similar in the 90s done that way for angle milled heads and had several break after getting it hot one time. I would say o ring and receiver grove it. The small area between the center cylinders is going to be a constant problem if you don't do that. Pontiacs have more meat between the cylinders. Jeff

I think finding that broken head stud was the best thing that could happen. Now you know what you need to do to make the engine bullet proof. Instead of hoping it was a good engine. Now you will make sure its a good engine. Keep your head up Jackie..

    • @DodgyBrothersEngineering
      @DodgyBrothersEngineering 2 роки тому +4

Turned into a forced pull down which should have happened from the start. They REALLY got lucky on this one. That was a disaster waiting to happen. A torched head and block would have been only the start of the problems. Broken valve spring would have probably turned into dropped valve etc etc. A major head and block decking would have turned into new shorter pushrods, and that would probably turned into piston to valve clearance issues... They really dodged a bullet.

@@mcintyretyler89 I would expect no different from what they got. Often people sell things because they have issues, and the more modified something is the higher the risk of something being wrong. No way I would buy a modified engine and stick nitrous on it without knowing what is going on inside. If I was going to buy that kind of engine already assembled and I was serious about buying it, I would want to tear it down before I parted with any cash, or if I knew the person really well a guarantee that they would spring for the parts if anything was wrong or take it back. There are so many little tweaks in a motor like that the chances of finding something very sus are high.

It’s a good thing that happened because I have a feeling that head gasket wouldn’t have lasted more than a few passes with some nitrous. I used to run those same gaskets and they work okay but definitely won’t hold up to a ton of power especially between the Siamese exhaust valves. Getting it freshened up, O-ringed, is definitely the way to go.

I cannot believe how bonded you two seem in life. Jackie, you and Chief’s happiness makes me see a rare thing in life. Soul mates is it? Two people with a passion for each other and the biggest job/hobby? Super rare. I swear I’m touched emotionally. Even though I saw SO first, I didn’t comb to see what you’re doing outside of the show, but I came here to your channel from watching SIM. He’s about my son’s age, swam just like my son and I just thought the world of how he does his channel because of his good heart and true love for what he saw in Big Chief on TV. Watching you on TV brought me back to my youth when my mom and dad raced in the 70’s and 80’s. I know how hard it is to be close (as a family) and to be the best in your sport at the same time. Seeing you on “pink slips” racing and all the way to be point man on SO was good medicine. Hard work and knowing what you’re doing pays off. Thanks for being so nice to SIM and I just want to say I am not the least bit jealous of you being one of the best. All’s fair in love and war, right? I’m all over the place but I am just trying to say I am fascinated, thanks. 🙏

Guy’s my 10 years at FEL-PRO Performance Gaskets I learned how to do this correctly. The thing you don’t understand it the friction between the head and bottom on the nut plus any friction between threads stud and nut.
    To check breakaway torque.
#1 You have to mark the socket with white out and pull the line onto the cylinder head while by hand take up the slack of the socket fit to the nut.
#2 now with that done use a breaker bar to back off the nut until it starts to relax.
#3 Now with a Dial indicator style torque wrench try and make one smooth movement to match the white out line on the socket with king on the head.
#4 now you know the real retained torque.
Keep up the great work at 72 my muscles are used up now. Ha

I remember when I ran n2o I burned a hole between cylinders on the head on super Chevy Sunday , and still took home the money for stock class and didn't touch the nitrous all night.

Awesome video guys!! sux to see all that when u thought u had a ready to go “engine” lol just had similar problems with a car we bought for my wife. Water pump went out witch it’s timing chain driven (2012 Ford Taurus) took it apart an never seen so much sludge in an engine in my 10 year of working on cars! Took a full day just to get it all cleaned out where it would have oil pressure again bc it had the pick up tube stopped up from where I disturbed it. So just a lil advice to y’all in the comments do y’all’s oil changes it will make or break ur car down the road. If the water pump didn’t go out I would have never seen all of that an it would have starved the engine of oil an boom no more engine! Good luck guys keep killing it can’t wait to see more!

Those have got to be the biggest ports I've ever seen on a conventional small block, that thing must have all the flow for og small block, they look a hell of a lot bigger than these old double humps Im getting ready to use. Are those something you could hip a guy to what they are, or is top secret chicken bone specials, if so I get it, I'm sure there out of my budget right now anyway, and I already got my double humps ported out and ready to go, but I'm just curious they look pretty massive for a og small block head... Edit, ok I get it now there not much og about that small block now that I'm watching more of the vid, that's definitely a chicken bone special edition, that's gonna be a nice piece once you guys get her right

@@justinshearer3016yea, once I got further into the vid and started noticing some of the differences, then you explained some of the difference, I knew it was nothing that would work on a regular small block, all that stuff is above and beyond what I've ever messed with, I see now how they make so much power out of those, I'm just a car lot mechanic that been messing with factory blocks and heads for the most part, about the closest I've ever came to something of that caliber was one of those blueprint 427 conventional small blocks I put in a 79 Camaro for a guy last year, it had dyno sheets that claim 697 horsepower 600 something torque, but it was still all factory style stuff for the most part, that little chicken bone motor should be a beast for still being considered a small block, and by the way I used to work in a pawn shop years ago, and I agree Kennedy tool boxes are the💩
