      Good engine builders do NOT "need a UA-cam channel" and least of all.to "talk to" people with no clue NO real pro is "humble" about what he or she does "for a living". They don't have time, energy or patience for people that would rather talk than do.

      The very last times I watched any Street Outlaws TV was the NPK season 4 final episode and I've only seen episode 1 of America's List 2 without BIG Chief!
      Besides UA-cam, I personally never had any nor do I currently own even a single social media account of any kind! So after I watched Street Outlaws on TV for the very last time I've basically cut em ALL off for good and now ONLY support Mr. BIG Chief & Miss. Jackie and all of their adventures 💯
      As soon as I've seen how the TV producers, the production crew, all America's List racers, especially the whole OKC crew handled Chief's departure, and how they all considered against Chief to gang up on him just to kick him to the curb in order to take over his leadership role made it ALL clear to me ☝
      I knew right there and then that the Street Outlaws franchise as a whole, was nothing more then a dead man walking who's just barely running on fumes and that it's only a matter of time till it ALL went up in smoke across the board 💯
      MIDWEST STREETCARS for the WIN 💯

      Idk it’s less headache sometimes if you have a motor built but someone that knows what they are doing as well as the kinda abuse you’re gonna put the engine through. Unless you yourself are that good 😂 I know I’ve built 2 motors I still hate to this day and gave up on both of them. But I learnt from them and no have gotten way better and have a pretty nasty nitrous and boosted motors both sbf probably reason behind my first 2 struggles but I’m my around here I was the first little 8.2 deck sbf’s into the 4’s locally with them . Turbo car i street drive and no one in town can touch it! Never had a full dyno session with it but from 1/8 times it’s around 1800hp as it sets on the street now my fast n/t car I had that motor built and knock on wood haven’t had a problem yet with it in 2 seasons and I have it refreshed after each season and everything has always been great.

    Just a note. We have built many Chevy engines for circle track. That oiling problem you had is one that we fixed by drilling a hole with a #10 or #12 fitting in the front where an original small blocked off or possibly just a flat spot is there. This feeds the main oil gallery for the mains FROM THE FRONT. We blocked off the passage from the filter housing area that feeds the rear of the motor first. Then put a filter adapter plate with a#10 or #12 fitting out to a remote filter with an in/out to the new fitting in the front of the motor. This feeds all the mains evenly. We also put in .060 restrictors from the mains feeding the cam bearings. This keeps more oil to the mains feeding the rods because the cam bearings don't need that much oil. Hope this helps you out....

      Yea I agree within the next 10 years you'll have to go to either commercial sized shops with 15-20 or more people always working or you'll have to go to big named shops and you'll never get the one on one personal experience and you'll have to adopt out a kid or pimp out your wife in order to afford just the machine work on your engine and I don't know if it's by choice or what but Bill and Billy from SRC and Old Man's Garage go to a machine shop that is out in the country where nobody else is around him but he has a small shop and only has a few employees and they get the personal one on one experience but that's not saying much considering it looks like they live out in the country themselves except for when they go somewhere then it looks like their not too far away from the city and it doesn't look like they are too far away from downtown Cincinnati and they have been using the same machine shop for as long as I can remember so I think it's by choice

      I'd like to see those nicks in the cylinder he said the rings would just slide right over. I just did a blown head gasket that sit for about 5 yrs and a couple cylinders were pitted and I was tempted to send it but I grabbed another block which was pitted a little also, with ring in the block barely could see flash light leaking under the ring, but it was vertical and long enough to pass under all the rings, so finally the 3rd block was good. I've took a pry bar to the flywheel on several engines that was stuck back in the day and they ran fine, no smoke, but I wonder how bad the cylinders really were. Might could have ran those pitted blocks with no ill effects but a vertical pitted area the length of the piston, I just felt like it would torch the piston and rings.

    Hello Justin and Jackie. I know that Justin's knowledge is very great. He said that this problem has happened before so I think the problem is maybe with the block or the crank shaft that the return oil channels restrict the oil flow back to those journals.

    BAM! Clogged oil passage. Taking the point again, thank you very much. And without even seing the mains/crank. It's funny how much information you can get from a crappy audio. :D Throwing in a hot tip: smaller crank and longer steel rod. to bring the geometry closer to optimal. And again, even with the risk of losing the heart, I'd advise Jackie to be a bit less aggressive on the burnout. It doesn't matter on a turbo car, due to low compression ratio and beefier rolling assembly, but on N/A deal, everything is different and a LOT more fragile, simply due to the different way they make power.

    This is great content. Free machinist time is golden. For the record - I was never blaming Jackie for being on the limiter.. People - if the engine is built right and a reasonable red line is chosen it will not hurt the engine to be there all day. What I was saying is that the engine sounded wrong on the 2 step / limitter. I was curious if it was ignition cut or fuel or both.

      Chief- put your oil pressure switch as far from the oil pump and as high as possible. Did that engine have coated bearings? Check the cam bearings if it has history of tearing up the mains. Check for proper clocking amd bearing sizes etc (cam bearings) follow the oils journey to the mains. I would look in to deleting the oil filter adapter and running AN lines/fittings to a remote filter housing. Kill a few birds with 1 stone. Add a pressure fitting at the remote housing also.

    • @philipmazzuca2269
      @philipmazzuca2269 Рік тому +1

      If that thing is sucking the pan dry in the burnout what’s it doing in the big end under Gs ? You need a new pan so how’s the time to map out amd engineer what that engine needs. Check the pump volume/pressure and dial it down if need be.

      Just from what I've heard from more experienced folks I've learned knife edged cranks ain't all they're cracked up to be, especially if you run a vacuum pump. I couldn't say personally. I've ran both but it would probably take a high dollar oem type Dyno to actually show results.

      @@jakemalone7892 I honestly don't know, I use to think that but hearing things from more knowledgeable people in the industry I have more doubt. I recently seen something from some of the crank manufacturers saying a bull nosed counterweight was better than a knife edge. I would probably just run a vacuum pump, kinda interested in what turbo John is doing atm with his.
