Thanks for the review; just discovered you channel and subbed after checking out your great content! Would be interesting if you could do a comparison video between the Corolla Cross and the Crosstrek, which are probably the most popular compact SUVs.
I really like a lot about it, go Toyota for making power liftgate an option. Word on the curb is that this'll have a Hybrid variant available to us in the States sooner than later.
Nice review. Some complain about engine noise under acceleration. This is partly due to the dual fuel injectors (Port and Direct) that Toyota uses. There's a full technical explanation by a Toyota Master Technician on Y/T at ua-cam.com/video/KAFx9n_LP94/v-deo.html .
Thank you for the comment, John. The noise under acceleration didn’t stand out for me as much different than other SUVs in this class, but I definitely appreciate you providing a link to the video.
We ordered our car July '21 from N. Shore Toyota in North Vancouver, but that car got sold to someone else.. Told were #1 on the waiting list. Then we were somehow #3. Told we'd get it in the new year, Jan. or Feb. Then we were told it would arrive Mid Feb. to March 1st. Now we're told the end of March. Can feel our leg being jerked around from home. Hardly worth the wait when there's so many other cars available, especially since the car's described as sluggish and noisy.
Toyota does sell FWD versions of the Corolla Cross, at least that's true in the U.S. Additionally, they made a point to say that it runs as an FWD small SUV unless drive from the rear axle is needed. I hope that helps.
@@viewsonvehicles Helps a lot. I've grown fond of our Mitsubishi RVR and having the ability with the AWC to be in fwd only has been great. Decent fuel milage plus less maintenance on rear diff and transfer case plus tire wear is better. Next car we get will probably be it for a while and Toyota seems like a no brainer.
I tell you what I DON'T like about it. We've had ours for just a bit less than a month. Toyota skimped out on the paint job inside the doors & the rear hatch. No clear coat! Just flat paint. That's bullshit! I wish I would have noticed it earlier. Was too excited about having gotten rid of our old Chevy Traverse. I plan on complaining about it later. It's not what i would expect from Toyota. Other than this, it runs good for a 4 banger engine, a helluva lot better quality than our old Chevy Traverse.
The C HR failed because it was FWD not AWD like the H RV from Honda. I know Toyota had C HR AWD version in Europe why they didn't bring it here to the U.,S is stupid. Now as far as the C HR in the curves it's not a RDX AWD with torque vectoring.. That Corolla Cross is perfect for NYC and I mean City. Parking and getting around in traffic and gas mileage. Toyota Corolla has a great reliability rating. Now as far a feature I think they should have made a Limited version with more features. I heard it also struggles on very hilly terrain.
That is freaking AWSOME OMG!!!! GLAD I WAITED TO BUY AN SUV
A Very Nice overall video. We have Just got our New Corolla Cross yesterday. So far, we Love It. Thanks Harold.
Appreciate that, thank you! And that’s great news.
How long did it take for it to arrive?

Really appreciate your comment, SammyT. And thank you for subscribing! And that's a good suggestion about the comparison.
cant wait to get mines toyotas for life!
Love it plan on ordering a 2023 xle awd

I agree, very likely to be a hybrid soon.
how does it compare to the subaru in performance
thank you very much for the demo

Great looking SUV!📸📸📸📸🎬
Like It…..Good review👌🏼
Thank you!
Any markups?
Excellent review from a new subscriber
Thank you so much, David! And I appreciate you taking the time to comment, thank you!
Great Review! I am personally waiting for the Hybrid version. I hope they follow the UK version with 5th generation Hybrid and 2 liter engine.
Thank you for the compliment! I look forward to getting the chance to review a hybrid version soon as well.
Do all three trims come with full front LED headlights or are only the DRL LED? Also can all three Trims have remote start ?
All trims have LED headlights for low/high beams. Don't know about remote start.
I think only LE and XLE uses the remote start.
It's nice to see a new Toyota Matrix, ooops I mean Corolla Cross ... lol
Or maybe the second gen Scion xB?
If it had the option to turn off awd and go to only fwd the Cross would be very tempting to me.

can the engine auto start/stop function be disabled?
Not that I recall, no. There's no obvious button at least.
@@viewsonvehicles thanks. i actually meant a permanent disable of the function.
Does the L model have heated seats?!
No heated seats in the L
Nice, but I’m not feeling the cabin noise. I’ll get Nissan Rouge instead.
ua-cam.com/video/_Hb1tWO2kv4/v-deo.html
Not the same class in size etc. Also Nissan transmissions are less than desirable...they don't last.
@@richardtaylor7485 Very good point. Nissan Rogue is in the same class as a RAV4, this is more Nissan Kicks territory.
Ordered an XLE on Dec. 23. Still waiting.... Dealer tells me they got a build date of May 5th. 🙄 ...maybe
I hope they stay on schedule for you, John

Hrv does have Awd. Chr is adequate for what it is with snow tires.
@@moeanthony9308 maybe for you it is not for me.
@@midiman5045 maybe bro. I generally don't climb mountains.
@@moeanthony9308 I don't either but I do go up quite a few step hills on snowy roads that FWD will not do.
@@moeanthony9308 I know the h rv has awd this was that the C HR is only FWD.
✌️👌👍👏🇨🇦
An SUV that requires more than 10 seconds to go from 0 to 60 mph. Think about that for a second.
Toyota! What an ugly exhaust you provided!
FYI to all you shoppers base Camry is a better car than this.
