How to make an atlas stone step by step. This will be a molded and custom-made 200lb stone. Can be used for middle weight, heavy weight practice, or beginner stone lifting (Strongman competition Atlas stone).

Thanks so much for sharing your ingenious idea! So cool! I would like to make a fountain. Would it work if I made the cement thinner just to make sure it gets in every where and then allow a longer drying time? Awesome video 😉😊
Thank you! Yes, thinner cemen is ok, but it will be a bit more brittle so not "too" thinned out. Also, more mortar mix, less stones will give it a smoother finish, as well as using a smooth mortar stone right as it dried, to smooth it out...

Great video, how did you finish the stones so they don't pick up dust?
Thanks man. Made sure to let it dry (in the sun!) so it really baked. Also, occasionally ran hands across it to smooth off all the granules. But honestly letting it bake in the sun for almost a week really heled that... I'll create another video showing it now, looks as good as new!

How long did you wait to remove the mold?
Thank you. We waited about 3 hours to be sure. And then, make sure the stone dries fully for 2 full days in the sun.

There are a nunber of online sites that sell them, but expensive. So this one we created with a plastic buoy from a marina, and made soem hardware with sheet metal from a hardware store... Tricky to make, but WAY cheaper.
No instructions. Where do you get this stuff and what is it?
Which "stuff" are you referring to? And the video is only a rough guide on how we created these stones.

@@christineribone9351 Gotcha... used a massage foam roller from walmart to take up some space, thin wood dowels to hold it in place, and the plastic shells actually buoys from a boat yard, cut in 2, and added my own metal rind from a hardwars store. You can also get the stone kits online, which provide the shell, ring... Insert is optional depending on the weight you want...
@@fatherandsons126 thank you, that was very nice of you to give me all the details. I live in the desert so there's not much boat stuff around here. I'll probably use a ball or yoga ball for larger size ball.
I know I should start with a small size before diving in a jumbo, but they look so awesome!!
@@christineribone9351 YES, start small... and be very careful. They make great exercise for strongman/woman competitors, and can be great strength builders, but not worth blowing your back out over so be very careful... I actually have one in the garden as a zen stone! Multiple uses... stay cool out there!
concrete doesnt "dry", it "sets" by a chemical reaction.
Thats what normal people call dry but technicaly yeah.
