I've been a minimalist soon after i moved to California from France, i grew up with family member who is a depressed hoarder and her way to cope is to buy stuff to feel better but it last 3 days. It's much easier to move indeed when you are minimalist i've been there so kuddos to you with 3 more people and thank you for sharing with people who might consider it !! So many good tips here. Making sure your house is always clean is one I swear by, it saves so much time when you have to move. On our next move I will definitely use your packing clothes vertically hack. When we moved to China in 2019 I was so overwhelmed I just packed half our clothes and put the rest in a container unit. I wish I had decluttered our things back then since our next trip back I'll now have to tackle that container unit.
I’m moving cross country with my cat & this was really reassuring that I may be able to fit everything. Have a sedan, so only the trunk, passenger seat and some of the back seat😬 nerve racking getting rid of so much, but also really freeing!
Glad to be able to check one thing off because it doesn't apply to me - cleaning the current house! Because we sold our house we don't have to do this - it's the new owners problem to clean the house when they move in, same as it's our problem to clean our new home (which we are going to pay someone to do because we're moving to another town and won't have time to do it ourselves before our furniture turns up). Not having to deal with end of lease cleaning standards is so nice, but I do appreciate that is a lot of work because I've done many before!
Haha, I'm ready to make another move😂. Getting itchy feet! Hoping for another international move(will be our 2nd one) soon when Cv19 is finally under control.

Being third generation military, by the time I was 8, I lived in 9 different houses and went to 5 different schools. My retirement home is my 20th house. This doesn’t include my travels and overseas tours with the Canadian Airforce.
Wow ! I’m impressed !! Let’s see ... I have moved .... 39 xs since I was 16 ! So ... early on I had almost nothing. A trunk & suitcase worth. More over time ... & of course always purging with moves ( & inbetween) & then downsizing a few xs ! Still have more purging to go tho !

Just found your channel. I thought we moved a lot. My husband and I have been married for almost 21 years we have moved about 17 times, lol. Great tips, I have use all of them . I'm a minimalst as well and I havec2 kids. 20 and 15. My family isn't minimalst, but I do keep things minimal and tidy. Look forward to seeing more videos.

Unfortunately for me, my housemates are not of the same mind. Thanks for the tips but I'm not looking forward to our inevitable next move.

So I am watching this while packing and decluttering. I just got an apartment and I have three days to pack and one actual day to move. This will be stressfull. This is my third move and I am not a minimalist
The kitty hat was decluttered - it was old, from an anime I used to like but I never wore it IRL. 😂 I have a weird habit of putty stuff on while decluttering I guess. And thanks! 🙏
We're moving the end of the month when would you recommend taking apart the boys beds the boys are 5 and 4 they have bunk beds Should we get rid of the bunk bed or let them keep it Should we do the mattresses on the floor or different sleeping arrangements
