Reedy Fen - Part five - Carp fishing

- August is upon us and the weather has been hot!
Yet again close attention to the weather gives me the slots in the week to be by the lake to maximise my time by the water. Conditions are favorable but the water temperatures are still high so feeding periods are short and erratic. Perhaps it's time to also get the bivvy out and play the waiting game?
Reedy fen is a farm reservoir with a good stock of carp. Around 5-6 acres, the margins have extensive reed beds with a thick layer of silk-weed growing down the margin slopes. The deepest part of the lake is 28 feet with 14 feet just a few rod lengths out.

😂 yep, since I'm only doing days and travelling light the cooking has slipped. I promise though that if I get the bivvy out I will make a huge effort to do some cooking.
How about scallops and oyster mushrooms in a white wine and cream reduction with creamy salt and pepper mash and gridled asparagus?

How do you find the Allers pellets regarding breakdown Steve…..do they desolve or remain solid (ish)?
@@weeman2727 it really depends on the water temperature but they break down well. Putting some in the margin where you can see them dissolve gives you a guide of when to feed again.
