The crystal switches are tactile keyboard switches, meaning they are linear for most of the travel distance and then require a small increase in force in order to bottom out and reach the actuation point. Tactile switches are a bit controversial among keyboard enthusiasts but I like them. It's good to see Haute putting new stuff in their products.
Mine doesn't have any scratches on the buttons at all. That box you had looked pretty beat to crap. I would say wherever you bought it from didn't treat it right. Those types of things shouldn't be mentioned in a review, since they are related to the shipment and treatment of the device, rather than an issue with the device itself. Still cool review bro. Peace!
Thank you for the feedback, however, these were sent by the company themselves, so I just show it how it is. I believe it is better to highlight these as potential issues so people know ahead of time. Most of their products have no issues though, and I’m sure customer service is great. Also, having these resources provided by the company to ensure good service, is in the end what matters most and is part of their reputation.
I unfortunately don’t have a Steam Deck to check, but I have a friend who has used their Haute42 controller on one. That should be good confirmation that they work since they run the same firmware and are just in different form factors. Glad the video helped too.
Not sure about which part of the video you’re referring to, since I’m not talking about console support at 2:30. But without an adapter it’ll disconnect from PS4 and PS5 after 8 minutes and you’ll have to unplug and replug it in. Also keep in mind PS5 support is only for games supporting legacy controllers which most fighting games will have like SF6 and Tekken 8.
@@ShadowletBetween the P12 and the S16, the extra buttons may help on the S16 if you play SF6. As for build quality the S16 is decently solid and allows for customization since you can put art in between the layers. They’re both light but the P12 felt really light to me but I haven’t done any measurements. So for those it’s personal preference and it’s pretty close in quality. Between the S16 and M16, the metal build quality is nicer so I would choose the M16.
@@kissrito I personally prefer the extra buttons since I can use them in SF6 for Drive Impact and Parry. I usually unbind the top two buttons and the far right two buttons, and just bind the bottom left one to DI and the bottom right one to Parry. The additional buttons are not necessary in any game, even SF6, they are just for added convenience. I do not know the control layout of KOF, but for Tekken 8 I see no benefit in the extra buttons.
When you plug in your controller, you need to hold the correct button for each console's input method. To swap back to Xinput hold the B Button as you plug in your controller. For other consoles: X is for PS3, Y for PS4/PS5 (with an adapter or you'll get 8 minute time out), and A is for the Switch input.
There’s not really a “best” adapter. If you want an adapter you can use for other controllers you already have, then the Wingman FGC is a good choice (the Wingman 2 is coming in November and allows for use on all PS5 games, unlike all of the current adapters). For all the other adapters that are meant to be plugged into the controller instead of the console, the Mayflash v1.1, Booter 5, and PXN N5 are all viable options. For those ones I would just aim for the smallest one so it doesn’t stick out as much like the Booter 5 and Mayflash v1.1
Hey there! I'm using a Mayflash Ultimate adapter and the Haute42 P12 but I am still getting the 8-minute timeout on my PS5. Any idea how I can bypass this?
Without an adapter, it will work for 8 minutes before disconnecting due to the PS5 authentication checks. If you want to avoid the 8 minute time out an adapter is required.
It has anti-slip padding on the bottom to help with lap play, but it is pretty light. You should have a decent enough experience, but I think it's more suited for desk use. I haven't tried the SnackBox Micro but I think that it would have more weight than the P12, and so it's more of a viable lap play controller. For PS5 support, you will need an adapter with the cheapest being the MayFlash V1.1 ($34) or the Haute42 Booter 5 ($35). I have a video for setting the Haute42 controllers up for PS5 if you're interested in the process.
Is this good for tournaments and lap play? I remember people complaining that s13/16 was too small to use in lap. How about this one, it's a bit bigger right?
I’d say lap play is a bit unstable given the weight and size. You may have a better experience than with the S-Series because of the rubber pads at the bottom, but personally I would look for something bigger for that.
Yes, just make sure that you’ve updated the controller and in the web configurator, you set a button to set it to Xbox mode. For example, when you hold the Y button when you plug it in it goes to the PS4/5 mode, but you need to add a button for Xbox connectivity. It should say Xbox One if I remember correctly, but that will also work on Xbox Series X and S.
Without an adapter it will disconnect after 8 minutes on the PS4 and you just need to unplug it and replug it. You can configure it to work on PS4 if you upload your DualShock 4 keys which can be a difficult task for most, and you can't ask others for their keys since it is copyrighted material.
Ive just vrought one of these along with the brook wingman fgc converter will i be able to plug it and play or will i need to go online and set it up? Its my first leverless so i have no idea sorry
Plug the adapter into the side USB-A slot, then plug in a USB-C cable to the USB-C slot and then plug that cable into the console. After doing that, press then home button and you should be good. No online setup is needed for the P12 to work once the adapter is plugged in.
Dude, how do you connect this thing to a PS4. Can you make a video or something haha. For the life of me I can't find ANYTHING on connecting this dam thing
The video I made for connecting these controllers to the PS5 also works for the PS4. But simply, without an adapter it will disconnect after 8 minutes due to the PS4’s security check. With or without an adapter though, press the Y button the entire time as you plug it in and you’ll see in the little screen it’ll say PS4 or PS5 then you press the home button, select a profile, and you should be good to go. You don’t need to hold Y every time as it will then be in that input mode.
I really need help. 1: will this work on xbox with the right adapter? im thinking either the mayflash magic ns or the mayflash magic boots for xbox one/series x. If it will, how do i set it on xbox/whatever its called mode? Also i need to update it? is that simple to do?
This is what I said to another commenter: I believe it should just be a matter of updating the controller then using an adapter like the Mayflash MagONE FPS or the Mayflash Magic-X adapter. Once you’ve got your controller updated and the adapter plugged in, hold the R1 button as you plug in your controller to put it in the Xbox One mode for Xbox One and Series S/X use. Let me know if that works. As an extra note, the Magic NS and Magic Boots adapters will NOT work for Xbox so make sure you do not purchase those adapters for Xbox consoles. And yes, updating is easy, check out my recent video for using these controllers on PS5 as the process is similar. Just make sure to buy one of the adapters I mentioned in this comment for Xbox, and hold R1 as you plug it in, not Y.
Yeah that’s possible using the web configurator. Check out my video on the M-Plus series to learn about the web configurator. You just need to change the pin for up to down and the pin for down to up.
It works natively on PC, Switch, and the PS3. For PS5 and PS4, you can use it but it will disconnect after 8 minutes. You will need an adapter to avoid the disconnections. If you want to learn how to set up your controller I have a short video on how to do so on my channel.
Haute has taken over the small hitbox controller market
Love your reviews, copped my M16 because of them and I've enjoyed the hell out of it. Keep up the great work!

Thanks for the clarification, and yeah I like the feedback you get from these. The subtly is nice compared to linear and clicky switches for me.
This one's a standard, linear switch, just transparent. Same as red ones.
nice review dude 👍, gonna be my first leverless stick

Around 2.29, I didn't understand if it works with the PS4/5 without the authenticator.

Hello sir. Can you finger slide on this one? My finger getting jammed on S-Series
P12 vs m16? Which is better
The M16 has a more premium feel and build quality since it is a metal design so if you are deciding between the two, I would go with the M16.

No, you will need an adapter. Even then, you are limited to fighting games.
Where can I buy it? When I go to their website and their Amazon store thing I can never find it
I believe the P12 is only available on their AliExpress store for now
