    How dare her pitiful defense team interrupt the victim impact statements! As someone who has made one in the past, it’s unimaginable they would disrespect these people in their most vulnerable, brave and horrific moments. Nothing these victims could say will make any material change in sentencing. Her defense team knows this. But they continue to object. Makes me sick to my stomach. Presenting an impact statement at a trial is a huge part of healing, acceptance and moving forward. Disgusting behavior.

      I agree with you completely. It won't make a difference in the sentencing and what is important is to express the impact the crime has had on the person and family. I'm sorry you've had to make an victim impact statement. Sending good thoughts to you.

      I was wondering if Idaho has this strict of legislation re Victim Impact Statements; it is quite harsh.
      On the other hand; were there motions filed by defense regarding sentencing ?
      The average layperson isn’t aware of what should be in a victim impact statement, even with appropriate guidance, it is a wretched, painful, emotional and mentally draining process for all involved. To have these objections, I know they’re defenders of the U.S.Constitution, and State of Idaho Constitution, needed to be done with professional dignity. Not these barks of interruption.

    • @katego370
      @katego370 Рік тому +4

      There's a special moral code among criminals: you don't harm innocent children. Thus, she will always be a hated inmate, and in prison, that means watching your back because someone might very well try to harm you. They'll house her in solitary and then with other child killers under heightened security risk. Out of all the prison lifestyle options, it's not a nicer option, and she'll have to live it every second of every day. She'll get her basic appeal and that will be it. I'm actually glad she's not facing the DP; she won't get to spend 15+ years wasting tax money on appeals, she won't get court hearing after hearing, she won't get 15+ years of intermittent media attention, she has nobody left to visit her, she won't get to have any hope at all because this is it, there's nothing to look forward to and nothing to live for for her. No hope is what really breaks people inside and that's what she deserves.

    @AuntDo Рік тому +18

    Defense attorney -- "What do we have to lose by allowing a woman in her 70's go before a parole board?" What???? She took 3 lives (and probably 2 more). Did those 3-5 victims get a "second chance?" Do they get to come back to life in 20 years? She's not "all about love." She's all about lust and greed. She quoted Scripture about "you without sin cast the first stone." But, as most people who try to justify their sins do, she didn't tell the rest of the story. Jesus went on to say, "Go and sin no more." Lori continued to kill, steal, commit adultery, lie, cover up, etc. Not the same thing. She shows no remorse. She blamed the victims. The ONLY way for the victim's family to heal and have peace and move on is for Lori Vallow to never get out of prison. That's not hate. That's justice.

    I'm a Christian and I have a problem with people invoking the name of Jesus in situations like this. It's absolutely true that Jesus will forgive...but it's forgiveness for those who confess their sins and genuinely repent. (1 Jn 1:9) That's a mercy and forgiveness we all want and need. HOWEVER...there's no reference in Scripture that says invoking the name of Jesus will result in the absence of consequences for the sins we commit or the hurt that our sins cause to others. LV - as far as I've seen - hasn't admitted her guilt, expressed sorrow for her actions, or asked for forgiveness for the death and destruction she's committed. Even if she did, she's still required to pay her debt to society for the crimes she's committed. Jesus isn't a 'get out of jail free card'. I pray the victims families will be able to forgive her some day, for their own internal peace of mind and healing, but LV, in spite of the good things she's done in her life, went on to commit some of the most heinous crimes imaginable. So please, don't invoke the name of Jesus to try for a softer sentence, that's demeaning and little more than spiritual manipulation. I hope she genuinely repents, and I pray for full healing for the victims families, but LV needs to spend every single day of the rest of her life behind bars never to be released...until she breathes her last breath.

    Hahahaha. I’m dying at the defense’s sentencing speech. It’s so ridiculous. I was waiting for him to sing Give Peace A Chance. She killed her kids. All her lawyer should’ve said was, “Your Honor, we give up. Just go with the States recommendation.”
    4:09:00 I swear the judge gives a side eye when the defense lawyer says how great she was to her kids…..the ones she murdered.
    Also, she’s not even sitting straight in her chair. Legs crossed like she’s at a bar.

    The defense attorney is all like “if we give her a lighter sentence she will have incentive to help other inmates and become a better person”. Well she should be able to do that with life in prison without parole. Is someone REALLY a better person if they have to be incentivized to do so??? Makes absolutely no sense. A good person doesn’t need a reason to be good.

    Did anyone notice how Lori DID NOT reference Charles, Joe Ryan and Alex, as to coming to her as “ angelic beings/spirits? How she only referenced the 3 she was standing trial for? I am in shock actually about her statement, it shows without a doubt what a sick and twisted, vile woman she is, not to mention the fact that she talked about Tammy being her friend, it’s just all sick and twisted in my mind. Defense talking about how she's this witty and loving person.... Hey defense attorney, why don't you let her watch your children and see what a great mother she is. You say she might be the most hated woman in the world.... That's the only thing you said that was right. She is no mother, she is not filled with love and joy and forgiveness.... she's pure EVIL!!!

    Accidental deaths happen;
    Suicides happen;
    Fatal side effects from medication happen;
    Did someone in this case get dismembered accidentally?
    Or have a bag placed over their head duct taped accidentally? Or be asphyxiated accidentally? Accidentally buried in a Pet Cemetery. Accidentally thrown away like trash. But her attorney wants her to have hope of freedom. Why should she have hope but her children, Tammy and even Charles didnt have a chance at hope.
