I have learned more from your videos than I have from all the other LR UA-camr's combined. I have owned (and currently own) an LR3, two LR4's and a Range Rover Supercharged. With the cost of a good LR technician approaching $150/hour, your channel has been a godsend to me. Thank you so much an keep up your excellent and, dare I say, inspiring work!
having made a bunch of videos on our LR3 build I can appreciate your approach to clear concise execution as well as taking the time to get proper camera angles and all. I'm too lazy to do all that and it still takes me a long time to make a video. Kudos to all your info. So helpful to the Land Rover community.
Oh and what I've learned is your average person who really cares is better than most "mechanics". Even if they don't know something initially, it's their vehicle and they invest the time to do things right; and life is all about learning new things anyway.
Great video and excellent quality production as always. I did this on mine last year but had to resort to changing the heater matrix as it was still blocked. Found it a really easy job in the end 😁
Wow!!! I found your video just in time. My LR 3 has very low heat coming out. Now I’m going to flush the core and probably change the heater hoses. Thank you!
I've fought with brittle coolant plastic on a 2008 Nissan Pathfinder and, to a lesser extent, a 2013 Infiniti G37. The problem on the Pathfinder was pretty server, with a large component having to be replaced. It crumbled in 2013 and again in 2022. At that point, I found an aftermarket, all metal solution that cost the same as the Fischer-Price Plastic part from Nissan. I'm in process of repairing an LR4, so I hope to find durable options when stuff like this happens. Looks like you decided the OEM/LR part was the best option, so maybe I'll be stuck with those, too.
Now I feel like doing that as well on my LR4 but since it ain't broken... BTW you sound amazing on the bucket mike! And you got my "like" right at the Bulletboy reference ;o) Cheers!
When do you think the second part will be posted? I am in the same boat and just hooked up the gap tool to see if the blend motors where adjusting correctly. They look like they are adjusting correctly so I was headed to the next part either replacing or flushing the heater core. Thanks for all you do.
Great video, watching from New Zealand. Love ur work, which pipe is the inlet or outlet as want to reverse flush to start wth to try reverse any potential particles that could be there.?
Hi Great video, i drive a lr3 (discovery ) for a couple of years how, i have the same problem with my heating. But i have low coolant levels pops up .when i look need top up about a quarter of it .
Thanks for the excellent video. I can only get one of those pushfit connectors off. Any advice for loosening a stubborn one? Brute force doesn't seem to be working for me!
In episode two I use a vacuum kit to refill the coolant system. This method greatly reduces the possibility of air bubbles in the system. Nonetheless, there should be an air bleed valve at the top of the engine that looks like this: amzn.to/3MyF2qf
Hi Mike. Love the grille on your Lr3. Does it clip in like the original or do you have to drill and bolt it on ? Also where did you get it? Thanks …Steve
Hi Steven. It came with the vehicle so I have no information on it. It clips in on top but the bottom is loose as I demonstrated in episode one. When I fix it, I will try to find the manufacturer and post a video.
Sorry to say but I had same issue no heat after I flush my system but I did replace all my holes trust me they are brittle you won't know it until you touch or disturb them , the one I haven't replaced is the one with the metal cap by throttle body , I'm waiting for someone maybe you show how to replace it 😁, my plan is to replace my heater core only and leave the tubes in fire wall undisturbed due having mine break off also , but the quickest what is keeping tubes in place off of heater core undo tubes from core pull out and stick new core in same location extremely rare that tubes off heater core bad , but on a lr3 I am not sure what in the way of getting to it , but I may. Just do a flush I got no heat and Ac issues too I live in Texas it get very hot like naveda you can only drink so much ice cold beer 😀
Hey what’s up brother! So my heater isn’t working and my HSE is overheating, I changed out water pump, Radiator and thermostat housing still overheating but doesn’t do it til after 45 mins

It definitely takes four times as long to complete a task so thank you for noticing.
Land Rovers - Turning drivers into mechanics for several decades!
Haha so true!!
Whoa, that’s like a colonic for your car! Sorry for that mental image. You are doing great work! Thanks so much for the video!
You are very welcome, Jerry.
Cooling system is definitely overlook by most people until something happens! Can't wait for the results in the next video!
I’m very interested to see if this fixes the issue.
looking forward to the results in part 2. great series!
Me too!! Thank you for the kind compliment.

I hope it doesn’t come to that but we’ll find out soon enough. Thank you for your kind compliments.
I have been watching your UA-cam channel all week, love the channel content. I have a 06 lr3 so watching your channel was helpful
Willie thank you so much!!

really well made video, thanks mate. Got same issue, feel very confident with your totally clear and in depth instructions, great job!
Thank you so much!!
This was so satisfying to watch, can't wait to do it. Thank you!

I trust Atlantic British to sell good quality parts.
You are awesome brod . Thank you thank you millions of thanks brod.

Thank you Nicolas!! Nothing like a plastic bucket for some reverb!!

Looks like the replacement hoses will arrive on February 20th so perhaps the video will be ready by the 26th.
@@wafflesquare Cool thanks!
You’re welcome.

I don’t know which way is reverse but that is a great idea.
Hi Great video, i drive a lr3 (discovery ) for a couple of years how, i have the same problem with my heating. But i have low coolant levels pops up .when i look need top up about a quarter of it .
Be sure to bleed the system of air with the bleeder valve located on top of the engine (connected to a small hose).
Thanks for the excellent video. I can only get one of those pushfit connectors off. Any advice for loosening a stubborn one? Brute force doesn't seem to be working for me!
I would try PB Blaster and let it soak for a bit. If that didn’t work I would also try CLR.
@@wafflesquare I'll give it a go! Thanks. 👍
You are very welcome.
Hey Mike,
I noticed you got the engine cover on. I'm looking for the cam bolts as well. I don't suppose you have a link or source for those bolts? TIA
I got mine used on eBay.
Did it again 👏👏👏
Thank you, Jonathan!
Hi. Did you make the follow up video with the final results? Did it work?
Yes. Episode 9 is the follow up.
So... Did it fix the original temperature difference problem?
Yes. Please watch episode nine to see the difference.
Do you have the bleed procedure for this vehicle?
In episode two I use a vacuum kit to refill the coolant system. This method greatly reduces the possibility of air bubbles in the system. Nonetheless, there should be an air bleed valve at the top of the engine that looks like this: amzn.to/3MyF2qf

@@wafflesquare thanks Mike. Your effort is much appreciated 😃
You are very welcome.
Quick question, is it possible to just replace the plastic that connects to the hoses?
Probably. This was so easy however.

Very true.
"...I flush my system but I did replace all my holes..." ouch!
How did you connect the hoses to the pump??
I bought barbed garden hose fittings at the hardware store.
@@wafflesquare And those screwed onto the pump? My pump has a hose fitting and you screw the hose to it.
Yes
Did this actually help the heat issue?
Yes it did. Please watch episode 9 to see the outcome.

You should meet my X
Did the flush some your unbalanced heating
Please watch the conclusion of the video for that answer.
Hey what’s up brother! So my heater isn’t working and my HSE is overheating, I changed out water pump, Radiator and thermostat housing still overheating but doesn’t do it til after 45 mins
Be sure to bleed the system of any air bubbles. On the very top of the engine there should be a bleeder valve on a small rubber hose.
