Cad Bane makes an appearance in a Darth Maul comic set before Phantom Menace. Because of said appearance, I’d imagine Duros have longer lifespans than humans.
R.I.P. To the 2 best gamorrean guards in star wars, they were very loyal and useful and im upset that boba fett didn't say or mention anything about their deaths. To the 2 gamorrean guards who actually did there job
Aaron: "They killed the gamorreans Eric!" Eric: "If they were fatter they could have done something" Aaron: "What? BOUNCE?" This is why I love these guys
RIP those Gamorrean bros! They stuck around for the whole series! That’s loyalty there! I actually felt kinda sad when they died but my dad literally went “Nah screw them!”
Same! I was really hoping those two somehow survived! Granted I admit after the first episode (when they recuse Boba and Fenix), they didn't do much than guards stuff but still!
I feel like Grogu is so young that if he stayed with the Mando until he died of old age or was killed, he would still be young enough to begin his Jedi training. Assuming someone is available to train him.
Boba and Cad having their confrontation makes it even more special to me since they are treating those unfinished Clone Wars season 6 episodes (in which Boba and Cad had their shoot-out and Cad gave Boba's helmet the dent) having happened.
Yea true but I don’t think bane is dead as the Kent’s a camera on him with his chest thing beeping so he could come back he has survived a head shot from boba so u never know
"I'm not a kid anymore.... and you're an old man." When Boba brought that up...and Bane brought up his "final lesson"...I knew it was the end of Bane. He was supposed to have died after teaching Boba that final lesson in the Clone Wars... 25 years ago. So at this point Bane is like 80+ years old... and on his way out. He's a relic of a bygone era in Boba AND Jango's life....and Boba needed to put him in the past.
@@TheLoreSeeker Probably more because of the whole "You can only get so far without a tribe"-thing. Plus... he's probably the least criminal crime-lord ever. And i kinda have to agree, at least to an extent. They tried to make too much of a noble, honorable hero out of him. And not a particularly competent one for the majority of the show, too.
@@shadowcat1606 He's clearly aiming more for "feudal lord" than "crimelord'. Like he wants to control the region and run the place.... but he also wants to do it in a way that will help the community thrive instead of under an oppressive boot like all the ones that failed in the past. Plus... the whole "stronger in numbers" theme makes sense... and he DID beat Bane and his "only care about yourself" ideology. Didn't really work out for Bane in the long run there.
@@shadowcat1606 They actually gave him some kind of character instead of Mr. Standalot in the OT, and gave him limits instead of him being super OP and perfect like everyone wants him to be. And people forgot how that Sarlac Pit and Tuskens pretty much changed his outlook on things, and him lacking competence still makes sense as he is no politician or whatever, just a guy trying to run things better than before.
I took Boba saying "I don't know if I am cut out for this" to mean "I'm uncomfortable with being smiled at, respected and appreciated". He may have wanted to rule by respecting others, but i don't think he was emotionally prepared to to deal with the weight of being respected BACK by every civilian he passes.
He actually said they are not cut out for this and it's a teaser to letting Cobb run things while he and fennec do other things which sets up season 2 that hopefully we get because cad bane is not dead and could be the lurking force in it.
Once my Dad pointed out that the rancor entrance was like Godzilla. He couldn’t help but think of it as an epic Kaju style fight with that droid. He said it gave him Godzilla vs Mecha Godzilla vibes. My Dad is a fan of giant monsters movies so seeing his face of pure joy was magical to me. And when we reached the credits he said “Yep this is a Robert Rodriguez episode alright.” Edit: Also could I forget the rancor climbing up that tower King Kong style.
That moment when Boba and Mando shot a guy off a roof and continued to shoot him like 8 times on the way down. i said "such a Robert Rodriguez moment!"
I saw this on twitter about Cad Bane’s death. “I’ve killed so many Clones over the years. Once you know them, the rest are easy” is what Bane said to Hunter in Bad Batch. Having a clone be the one to kill him, and it being Boba no less, makes it seem all the more poetic in the end. EDIT: People in the replies are mentioning the beeping on his little chest module thing which we don’t really know for sure what it means. Beacon? Malfunction? Attempts at keeping him alive? We don’t know. But for now, I take this as a “Dead until proven otherwise” scenario.
@@thebortthe that and i just noticed in this reaction that the spike on bobas gaffi stick was bent after he stabbed him, which implies to me some type of armor that boba didnt even get thru. you can see it if you pause at 19:18
I think of Grogu as a walking, living archive of Force knowledge, which explains why so many Jedi masters taught him, and why Sith lords want to capture him so badly to extract the knowledge from him and not just the M-count. Grogu seems to know a lot of Force-related techniques and as his memories become un-suppressed, as he overcomes the trauma of Order 66, he uses them with more confidence and initiative. Take for example his intervention in that Spider Droid. He displayed good timing to intervene (and to rescue Mando, of course). He displayed the mantra of "size doesn't matter" by only needing to take out one part of the Spider Droid. He displayed the knowledge of balance by taking out a key component of the Spider Droid which caused it to fall over. He displayed discretionary action or inaction where he bought time for the Rancor Beast to appear as if he knew that Boba Fett needed to make the kill in front of the population to establish his respect as the Daimyo of Tatooine. In the case of the taming and resting of Rancor Beast using the Force, Grogu understood Boba Fett's relationship with the Rancor Beast so putting it to nap is better than any other means like Force chokes or Force throws. Grogu also understood the distress of the beast. The Rancor Beast went through one hell of its first major public battle with at least two full volleys of Spider Droid blasts, several of the Spider Droid's leg scratches, three douses of flames in this face or mouth, and numerous blaster shots from everyone so Grogu knew the Rancor Beast needed the rest, not more violence. Grogu could be the new living carrier of Force knowledge into new directions. I think Grogu chose to be with Mando because he understood that a travelling life is more conducive to the growth of Force knowledge because there is more exposure to understanding attachments among and between species and their goals, more exposure to test old and new Force techniques, and more exposure to using the Force to reshape important things or paths in people's lives than to meditate in the depths of a jungle as a "Padawan" for years and years on end.
“We need reinforcements” stuck a chord from my childhood. A classic Battlefront voice line brought into this episode. Such a great finale, and season as a whole. I hope we can get more from Tem and the others in the future…but now it’s time for K E N O B I!!!🔥🔥🔥
13:31 It's so funny as soon as I saw those droids I swear I recognised them from somewhere and immediately pulled out my New Essential Guide To Droids book which just happened to be right next to me, and sure enough I found their entry.
I had the exact same reaction. I remembered the Annihilator Droids from all the times I would spend reading Wookieepedia instead of studying. Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau are truly the Gatekeepers of Star Wars.
Let’s not forget the line from Luke that Grogu already knows a lot about the force, almost as much as him. Grogu might not remember or had his memory blocked/erased by someone, but once he remembers, that will be something to see!
I don’t think Luke was training him at all. The school looked more like therapy/rehab rather than a school. Luke was just trying to restore Grogu’s mind so he knows who he is. The choice between the Lightsaber and the Chainmail was literally Luke asking Grogu whether he would like to be trained as a Jedi or not since Grogu can’t speak.
Yeh I agree.. my theory is that he knows a fair bit and he just blocks it out due to having bad experiences in the past, 66 and what not. Sorta like cere from jedi fallen order.. sad he didn’t take the lightsaber however, I think Grogu could wield the darksaber at some point, thrawn wins it from mando and then grogu takes it back from thrawn. That would be super cool imo!
@@zalacy_ Personally I don't think Thrawn will appear in The Mandalorian. What I can see happening is Moff Gideon somehow taking it back from Mando, and then Grogu defeating Gideon, thus claiming the darksaber as his own. Although...it would be a little big for him.
@@billystokes3917 yeah sorry I forgot to mention I think thrawn will be the main villain in ahsoka and all the series we have seen will all kind of link together. But that’s very true and something I didn’t think of was how big the darksaber is compared to grogu..
This being Bane's live action debut works so well with him being old. It can explain his slightly different appearance, his slightly different voice, and it's a good explanation for him not to be jumping off buildings with his jet boots and all that. Because he's old, and that works so well with the fact that live action can be a little more limiting
@@Changingtesting that got me thinking about something kinda conflicting. This fight would've been so cool in animation because I feel they would've had the freedom to have some cleaner movements, the draw would've looked lightning fast, and they could've put in a few extra moves that might be harder to do in live action. Plus seeing animated Bane die would've really hit home. But that said, I have nothing wrong with how it turned out.
Not necessarily@Azrael’s Shadow. Given how they framed things, Bane might not be completely dead. That device on his chest was still beeping til they cut away. There's a chance he might come back. And given his history, he's survived worst.
I just don't like the fact that he was left for the last part of the fight just to get "killed". He's such an important character... in bad batch he kicked some serious ass... he could've been used more.
20:04 Eric that’s EXACTLY what I said when I watched it. Man Rebels was such a big part of my childhood, I didn’t realize Ezra’s connection to animals until that happened and I said “Grogu’s gonna Ezra the Rancor” Edit: Guys I know other people have it, just let me talk about my experience lol
The fact Boba trained his Rancor to not instantly kill it's prey is amazing literally holds the droideka in a chokehold and only rips it's head off when Boba says "Do it"
I’m glad to see I wasn’t the only one sad about the two Gamorrean’s deaths. They were Boba’s first bodyguards besides Fennec and stayed loyal to both of their masters and to Boba til death. They should’ve lived to see the outcome. Tatooine is finally at peace after so many years and they deserved a peaceful rest of their career as guards. I understand it was necessary for someone on Boba’s side to die otherwise it would be unrealistic, but it’s still really sad to see.
I had the feeling that Luke knew Grogu would still be a kid for longer than the average human could live. That's why he made that comment to Grogu that his life is longer than many lifetimes of most others. He knew Grogu could still be trained later, after Mando passes away, as he'll be a youngling still.
I'm calling him Mod Vanth from now on, haha. Also, is Cad Bane actually dead? The tech on his chest was still beeping, and we've definitely seen characters seemingly die but survive in the end, like with Fennec, Vanth, and Boba himself in the OT...
Grogu doesn’t need a lightsaber, he’s destine to wield the Dark Saber a hundred years from now once he avenges whoever is responsible for killing Din and taking the saber
i loved how the "scorpenek annihilator droids" (legends) had the same movement sounds as ED-209 :D also, how can one join the Rancor Preservation Society? :)
Guys, thank you! Yours was the first reaction I was able to watch all the way through because your discussion didn't devolve into negative criticism of the show and the finale. I understand that you didn't think it was perfect, but you discussed it. You didn't bitch and criticize. I'm so tired of the negativity. You guys rock and you're the only star wars reaction channel that's keeping my subscription. The rest can f* off.
I mean as soon as bane “dies” a light on his chest goes on and we hear a beeping that we didn’t see or hear before maybe it acts as a temporary heart to keep him alive or it sent a message to someone to inform them he’s critically injured we got to remember bane survived a headshot and he prepares for anything as example by keeping his breathing tubes even though everyone belives the Jedi are dead Bane still won’t take the chance
I love how one unfinished clip from Clone Wars has made Boba the only person that feels qualified to be the one who kills Bane. If that clip didn't exist, I really don't think that any of this would have had as much impact as it did
The Cob Vanth reveal is layered into the episode. Boba Fett "We aren't cut out for this." Fenec "If not us - who?" This is their way to free Boba Fett to continue his honorable arc. Exploring his Mandalorian heritage. Hinted, again, in how he talks to Mando about the creed and how Mando makes the point to stand by him. Just like Boba stands by his friends. This is a remarkably well-laid plan here. Boba Fett isn't going anywhere.
I guess nobody remembers that for years the only lore with boba fett was the one from west end games. He was a journeyman protector. Like a type of marshall or lawman. I guess similar to jugde dredd. At the end of this series Boba kind of turns into that. Not a real crime lord but a feudal warlord/ protector.
A lot of folks forget to think like a screenwriter working for a franchise when trying to figure out plots. Takes some of the magic out of it, but fuckin’ of course he was going to pick Mando. lol
@@Scufflegrit Same with fans who think Mando is going to become some ruler living on Mandalor and not keep being a wandering gunman roaming the galaxy with his iconic look and showing up to rescue lesser shows. As long as Mando can randomly walk into other shows, he's one of their most valuable resources
Personally i was almost 100% certain that he was going to choose the chainmail, but i did think it would be some sort of test or something. Not to mention it feels kinda silly that he went to Luke if he was going to end back up with Mando in 2 episodes anyway
@@leynaripley5250 i heard that disney got most of their money from merchandise, i knew they got lots and lots of money from media, entertainment, movies, but it think selling merchandise is one of the huge income for disney
The end scene reminded me of a little something from Avengers: Cobb Vanth: Gets Modded Freetown Citizens: “You have a metal arm!? That is awesome dude!”
Imagine yourself back in 1983 watching Return of the Jedi. Your friend turns to you, "What if Boba Fett rode a rancor into battle?!". "Dude wtf have you been smoking?"
There aren't many channels or shows I listen to when it comes to Star Wars, its a short list. These guys are at the top of it. Always a great time watching these dudes.
I’m fine with the decision of killing Cad Bane, but they should have introduced him earlier in the season. Introducing him in the second to last episode and then killing him in the finale without really fleshing out his character or his relationship with Boba is just wasted potential.
I think keeping Bane’s relationship with Boba vague was intentional. Clearly Favreau wanted to give the impression that Boba was once a student to Bane’s, particularly to those who have no prior knowledge of Cad Bane. But because they don’t have any established connection outside of an arc from TCW that wasn’t even released besides a couple clips, there’s plenty of room to explore that in future material. Personally, I didn’t mind that Bane’s appearance in this show was quite minimal. It kept him mysterious and threatening
@@josephwantock1993 That's fair, but I 100% disagree. If they had introduced him earlier in the season and built up that rivalry, his death would have been more impactful. I'm kinda tired of these disney plus shows bringing in the bad guys late in the season only to defeat them by the finale. When you have an entire season to tell your story I think it's not an excuse.
you guys have the best reactions to these shows! everything you guys said was pretty much what i was thinking and feeling the whole episode. what a time to be nerd! 🤣😍
When I first saw the post-credits, I thought the dude in the bacta tank was Palpatine at first because of the black robes and the way they framed the profile, the hair looked similar (until I rewatched it and realized it is Vanth). So it got me thinking, we have shows after ROTJ about Mandalorians, Crime Lords, and Ahsoka, but one of the most fascinating things set after ROTJ is Operation Cinder and the Fall of the Empire and I feel like a series based around the Imps in this time would be awesome
I kinda want Timothy to get his own show. Maybe make him the lead of that Rangers of the New Republic show since Gina Carano is gone. It would be Deadwood/Justified in space.
No. Stop. Even with the stacked cast, Book of Boba Fett was extremely weak. The star wars fan trope of seeing a decent character and saying, "wow they definitely need their own show that's just like _____ but with Star Wars!" is soooo tired at this point
Something on Cad Bane’s chest was blinking…his suit is made for life support after all😭So I’m holding out hope that he’s alive. Maybe its a beacon for Todo to come and rescue him😂
Can't wait for someone when all these series are done, who's gunna try make one massive supercut film with each scene put in chronological order like they did with revenge of the sith and cw season 7
Man I really didn’t want Cad to die, but like Eric said, if it was gonna be anyone, I’m glad it was Boba. And I’m glad Bane got to do some cool things before going out. This was probably somehow the worst episode for me, but I didn’t dislike it. Just had some weird editing and pacing for me. I am thoroughly satisfied with this show. Can’t wait to see what else we have coming our way. I hope we get more live action Cad Bane in stuff that takes place before this.
I feel like he may have survived, mainly cause right after he gets stabbed something on his chest starts beeping, Maybe a beacon for his droid to get him or a life support kicking in.
@@yoRyann27 Ya, they spent a lot of time letting you see that light and hear the beeping from the suit, so I feel confident they can bring him back if needed
I agree, probably my least favorite of the season, but glad they wrapped it up. I would have liked BDH and DF to direct the season-closing episode, they just bring a better plot line and emotion.
It’s really weird that the whole Tuscan desert power thing did get dropped, everyone was saying oh the women Tuscan didn’t die and they’ll come back stronger, it was just one tribe etc but nope they literally weren’t in it post ep 3 and had no impact in the battle for mos espa lol
@@mostlyimpulsive3462 yeah like you said I think they figured that the affect the Tuskans had on Boba was enough of a factor in the finale for the Tuskans, But I also agree, personally it was so unsatisfactory to not bring some Tuskans back, especially since they specifically did NOT show that specific badass Tuskan's body or staff, suggesting she survived... Whilst I had some problems, still enjoyed having new star wars tho haha
@@seekeroftruth9200 oh yeah I have no doubt they'll show up at some point again, would've liked to have seen the pay off in the finale tho, but yes either way I'll be excited to see what's next ha
Yeah, I was hoping that the Mos Pelgo folks would bring their friendly neighbourhood tusken clan along with them and that there'd be refugees from Boba's clan among them.
After Grogu calmed that Rancor down, I whispered to myself: "And now he's gonna eat it!" I recently looked up what Luke's order was like in Legends and I gotta say, I prefer that. Currently Luke's Order seems to be the same as the old order, ideology wise. So I hope that Filoni goes in the direction of declaring the sequels as some sort of "What if?" scenario, so that the creators have more creative freedom with coming Star Wars content.
You should read the Zahn trilogy if you haven't and also Jedi Academy series. It is so much like what you would imagine happened in the post-RoTJ galaxy.
Yeah, the stuff he does with the academy in legends seems much more true to his character. It's ashame all of this has to lead into the sequels honestly. There were so many better directions they could have gone
@@binaldoshi495 i have or well listened to them ( bc low vision sw fan) as well as the comic adaptations, currently looking for the rest of them in audiobook format on an app i have, once i get them all and listen to them, im excited to see what’s in store tbh. :D
Because there was nothing wrong with the old order ideology wise. Luke is a Jedi "like my father before me", and Anakin rejoins Yoda and Obi-Wan after dying because *he* was the problem, not the Jedi.
Also, why does Cobb need any modifications? He was just shot in the shoulder, and he is *already* healing in the bacta tank. My man is about to wake up with some robo-arm, and vespa up his ass...
So I only watch you after I watch the episode myself and I have to say pretty much all of your major "f yeah' moments I had the same exact reaction in almost the same exact way.
I find it cool that Filoni and Favreau gave Luke some flaws in this show. Fits the fact that hes still a young man. Luke gave Grogu quite a ridiculous ultimatum. Making a baby choose his path of life (which is many hundred years). Essentialy making the same mistakes as the jedi order regarding Anakin. He sent Grogu alone through the galaxy to return him to Mando. The galaxy is a very dangerous place and this was a clear blunder from Luke putting Grogu in danger. I hope he will get confronted with these choices in the future. Perhaps from a force ghost?
I hope we never see Luke again. The fact that everything about him, even the voice, was fake, is so ridiculous. Recast him with a younger actor, or let him stay away. All this deep fake crap is an insult
Yes to Disney and Mandoverse Luke is as good as dead and will not be seen again. I read something on a Star Wars site the Kennedy want to remove Luke from everything but Ep 4 5 and 6.
I don't know why people keep calling Grogu a baby. He's twice Luke's age. Yes, he looks like a baby, he often acts like a baby, but he's not _actually_ a baby.
I hope they end up doing “Rangers of the New Republic”. They could always follow Paul Sun-Hyung Lee’s character Captain Carson Teva as he patrols the Outer Rim while training young pilots.
there was a good point that one of the youtubers brought up to be one of the bigger issues with this episode: when Boba Fett flew away to get the rancor: 1. how did they get here so fast? 2. why didnt he bring his ship instead? he could have dealt with the droids and the rest of the pykes more easily.
Grogu should’ve trained with Luke for years, instead they created this anti attachment bullshit with Luke when he knows attachment isn’t wrong and let a toddler with the potential of yoda make his own decision knowing that one day he will watch Din die possibly making him lose his sanity with insane force potential. This writing was ridiculous
Grogu was trained for a long time possibly a couple of decades. Luke said that he already knows a lot he just doesn’t remember, yet! He could have been trained by multiple Jedi masters, far more than Luke. Luke was trained by by Obi Wan and Yoda for just a little while, he was later trained by force ghosts and old books!
@@gutsssz Grogu probably trained with Luke longer than Luke trained with Yoda. And both Luke and Grogu chose their attachments over training to be a jedi
The scene where Shaddac took out the leaders reminded me a bit of the scene in Le Professionnel where he takes out all the body guards and then shows up impossibly behind the leader.
When the giant droids came out I went back to the "Terminator" shot from Mandalore and this seemed like a second coming of wiping the Mandalorians out.
I'm glad we have that super emotional goodbye with Grogu at the end of Mando 2 just so that he could come back a few months later in a totally different show with the new and astounding ability of... jumping.
I wished we got a show that centered around Fennac being an assassin and she gets caught in the crosshairs of Boba Fett(who is tracking her) and a cat and mouse game on a galaxy scale between the legendary bounty hunter and the master assassin ensures.
I think there's a chance Cad might still be alive. The small red light on the box on his chest was still blinking and never stopped before cutting to the next scene. If that box monitors his health then there's a chance that he's still alive. At least I think 😅
I wanted to take a moment to thank you for your channel on UA-cam. When I began watching these Star Wars series I came across these reaction videos, particularly yours. Part of the joy for me in addition to watching the show is seeing your reaction to it after it airs. It’s become part of the excitement and has been a tremendous pleasure. Thank you again for all your hard work and time that you put in for your channel. My overall thoughts on both series: STAR WARS IS BACK! I choose not to nit-pick details because of this fact. Favreau and Filoni have demonstrated their genius by making these characters weave in and out of all their series and there is more to come. I believe the Book of Boba Fett is written and done. Not to say that we won’t see these characters again. In fact, I’ll put money on the fact that we will. It was summed up beautifully by one of you - “That was fun!” It was, and we’ll continue to have more of it. Thank you again for this channel and I’m a happy subscriber!
the demise of cad bane at the hands of boba fett parallels mauls’ demise by the hands of obi wan imo. both cad bane and maul were clinging to the past to justify their grievances with their “enemy”, while both boba and obi wan had grown and matured substantially since their last meetings; their “foes” were slain for closure and not revenge
Grogu jumping in Mando's arms. - Literally the entire Star Wars fanbase: "My heart!" 🥲 Edit: The Star Wars fanbase when seeing Boba ride the Rancor: *"I CRAVE VIOLENCE!"*
Boba used his rocket on the Scorpenek Annihilators but then had his rocket again when he fought Cad Bane. His chance to reload was when he picked up his pet Rancor.... So good... Phenomenal series and a true crescendo for the finale!
After serving 2 crime bosses and Boba those Gamorreans deserved a happy life in retirement with Tatooine now at peace. *R.I.P. they were loyal til death.*

@@jonascommero6361 but then again we see he still has the breathing tubes and stuff that he has specifically for when he fights Jedi, even though there everyone thinks they’re all gone. He probably did have a contingency in case he did get got.
First 30 minutes were amazing, so so good. But I think the droids threw off the pacing and it all got really messy. Didn't want Cad to die either, especially after hardly being in it. I think if he was the main antagonist throughout and had killed the Tuskens for the Pykes then it would have been much better. Didn't understand the mods and that weird spin one of them did. Don't know why they all went behind the broken tank instead of flanking or taking higher positions. Direction from Robert Rodriguez seemed all over the place, really disappointing after an insane first 30 minutes of building tension. I don't think Grogu should have appeared on the X-Wing until the end credits as he took away a lot from Boba defending his city. Loved the show and really defended its criticism for not showing Boba lately, but I am disappointed in this ending after such a good start to the episode.
I completely agree I feel disappointed, especially since I’ve been defending this show but the droids felt so badly paced and it screwed with me and pulled me out of the story
Yep 100% agree. I LOVE boba, and have also been defending this show. But this final fight with the two droids, just drug on forever. Didn’t enjoy it at all. At the end of the day, regardless of how old he is, I wanted to see boba the cold blooded killer. And I think we only see that once with cod bane. Wish we saw it more
This episode was beautiful! With Boba refusing to do any criminal work(Sell Spice, have people fear under rule, kill aimlessly) is because deeply he doesn’t care for it. He only wanted to revenge the Tuskens and as he grew closer to the town and had seen all the struggles of the citizens under the crime bosses, that’s when he decided to take full “control” and rid of the crime from Tatooine. Evidence: He brutalized the biker gang at the Toche Station after witnessing them robbing people of water and causing trouble. Took down the Pyke train for attacking Tuskens. Finally, he no longer cared about the other crime bosses being “Offed”. Bane is correct, Boba is a killer, but as shown he is unlike Bane or Fennec. He’s Vengeance
To add on: Boba as a child only wanted to kill Mace. He hated harming the innocent and struggled killing the clones. Bane, criminals and bounty hunters always took advantage of him promising to help in his vendetta.
Who else heard the Acklay sound when the Gamorrean died. Like, I know an Ackley sound was made by taking pigs and dolphin noises, but I found it distracting lol. It would be like the Wilhelm scream. On that note, when everyone cheers in the city with the pykes dead (just efore the droids show" it's that old audience cheer sound effect lol
@@peytone5387 Omg! I didnt realize til you said about Rotj. But then the Acklay had its pitch raised. It's like in Mandoloriam, the child makes kid sounds that are used in everything, but I tolerate it. The crowd cheer though took me out of it XD
If you watch the rancor action again, you can see it has a metal plate hanging in front of its chest. That's why it doesn't take more damage. At one point it's knocked off, but it picks up the plate and uses it as a shield for a couple of attacks. Pretty cool.

I feel like Grogu is so young that if he stayed with the Mando until he died of old age or was killed, he would still be young enough to begin his Jedi training. Assuming someone is available to train him.
I mean srsly, that dude can outlive mando in ten lifetimes
Absolutely
Hmmm... I wonder if there is someone ~25 years after this that is starting a new Order and learning from the mistakes of Jedi past.
As a Mandalorian he could always get the darksaber.
As much as people will whine about it, Rey is probably the answer
Boba and Cad having their confrontation makes it even more special to me since they are treating those unfinished Clone Wars season 6 episodes (in which Boba and Cad had their shoot-out and Cad gave Boba's helmet the dent) having happened.

@@jneumy566 yes indeed.

When Boba brought that up...and Bane brought up his "final lesson"...I knew it was the end of Bane.
He was supposed to have died after teaching Boba that final lesson in the Clone Wars... 25 years ago. So at this point Bane is like 80+ years old... and on his way out. He's a relic of a bygone era in Boba AND Jango's life....and Boba needed to put him in the past.
That is so dumb Cad bane was right ,Boba went SOFT , Fennec at least has some balls, i hope a red saber cuts Boba Fett down one day

Your logic is.... questionable.
I think you are trying to put a spin on what is in reality just a bad show with a bad ending
Grogu hit the Rancor with the "Hey big guy, the twin suns are getting real low..."
Nice, I did get Hulk vibes from that rancor a couple times. lol
And when we reached the credits he said “Yep this is a Robert Rodriguez episode alright.”
Edit: Also could I forget the rancor climbing up that tower King Kong style.
Yeah my first thought was king Kong too lol
I didn’t mind the execution: the conceptual choice was just more Grogu feeding, fodder for little buddy to do cool stuff that Danny Trejo coulda done
That moment when Boba and Mando shot a guy off a roof and continued to shoot him like 8 times on the way down. i said "such a Robert Rodriguez moment!"
@@strider390 "Looked like he had a blast." - my Dad.
Actually those first seconds of the rancor came from the kraken coming out of the sea in 1981' s clash of the titans.

Well said . It occurred to me that he’s getting more practice using his abilities with Din than sitting in the jungle .
Oh this is such a great comment, I hope I gets more recognition 👏🏻

I had the exact same reaction. I remembered the Annihilator Droids from all the times I would spend reading Wookieepedia instead of studying. Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau are truly the Gatekeepers of Star Wars.
It reminded me of the Umbaran spider tanks from the Clone Wars
@@zalacy_ OMG... Grogu. With the Darksaber. Holy shit.
@@zalacy_ Personally I don't think Thrawn will appear in The Mandalorian. What I can see happening is Moff Gideon somehow taking it back from Mando, and then Grogu defeating Gideon, thus claiming the darksaber as his own. Although...it would be a little big for him.

This being Bane's live action debut works so well with him being old. It can explain his slightly different appearance, his slightly different voice, and it's a good explanation for him not to be jumping off buildings with his jet boots and all that. Because he's old, and that works so well with the fact that live action can be a little more limiting
Yea I was wondering why he didn’t just rocket boot away from boba when boba was standing over him
@@Changingtesting that got me thinking about something kinda conflicting.

Tatooine is finally at peace after so many years and they deserved a peaceful rest of their career as guards. I understand it was necessary for someone on Boba’s side to die otherwise it would be unrealistic, but it’s still really sad to see.
Unfortunately they were the least famous of the core protagonists 😐 Because they weren't gonna kill Santo, Fennec, or the 2 lead bikers
I had the feeling that Luke knew Grogu would still be a kid for longer than the average human could live. I love how one unfinished clip from Clone Wars has made Boba the only person that feels qualified to be the one who kills Bane. If that clip didn't exist, I really don't think that any of this would have had as much impact as it did
It has put Cad Bane on the same level as Darth Maul, really bad ass characters that's destined to be killed by equally bad ass characters
The Cob Vanth reveal is layered into the episode.
Boba Fett "We aren't cut out for this."
Fenec "If not us - who?"
This is their way to free Boba Fett to continue his honorable arc.

Perhaps from a force ghost?

there was a good point that one of the youtubers brought up to be one of the bigger issues with this episode: when Boba Fett flew away to get the rancor: 1. how did they get here so fast? 2. why didnt he bring his ship instead? he could have dealt with the droids and the rest of the pykes more easily.
Cobb Vanth doing work around Freetown and Mos Pelago Territories, like a Star Wars version of 'Justified'?
I wish Grougu and Mando reunited later in season 3. I'm happy they're together but it would of had way more impact if they waited
@@gutsssz And they is one swoop erased the ending of Season two of Mando it now never happed Luke just saved them and then left.
@@more-reasons6655 and yet Luke now finds an issue with attachments…
The scene where Shaddac took out the leaders reminded me a bit of the scene in Le Professionnel where he takes out all the body guards and then shows up impossibly behind the leader.
Hoping that beeping is an indication Cad Bane isn’t dead. Felt like we barely got any of him and he would make for a great antagonist in the long run.
If he is dead, star wars is dead to me. Boba was the least interesting aspect of this series.
@@Majorblack Well he's dead, so bye. 🤣
But he did, in the animated series. Dude was old and it was time Boba ended him.
Dude he’s already at like peak life expectancy for his species even if he loves he’s gonna die soon
@@Majorblack bye Felicia
If BD came to say hello to Grogu while he was eating, it would have been the definition of cuteness overload
14:36 reunite
16:38 grogu force
18:35 draw
19:37 ball
20:06 calm beast
21:31 wanna go fast
When the giant droids came out I went back to the "Terminator" shot from Mandalore and this seemed like a second coming of wiping the Mandalorians out.
Genuinely think when Mando did that downward stab on the droid they were referencing lego star wars with how you break the droideka's shield.
Yesss as always been waiting for this since watching the chapter myself
I'm glad we have that super emotional goodbye with Grogu at the end of Mando 2 just so that he could come back a few months later in a totally different show with the new and astounding ability of... jumping.
I do wish Grogu return had happened later. As things are now I feel like Grogu shouldn’t have left in season 2 finale at all.
The storytelling in these shows is clunky (understatement) as hell but I'll take what I can get at this point.
The cool shot at 09:48 is a reference to the opening scene of Sergio Leone’s Once Upon a Time in the West.
Grogu jumping in Mando's arms. - Literally the entire Star Wars fanbase: "My heart!" 🥲
Edit: The Star Wars fanbase when seeing Boba ride the Rancor: *"I CRAVE VIOLENCE!"*
*R.I.P. they were loyal til death.*
was a fun series to watch and enjoy the reactions of, i gotta double check that i watched ahsoka and mando 3, im pretty sure i did. but i also thought i had watched these week to week. thanks for the entertainment guys!~
Is amazing to see a scorpenek in live action for the first time
14:52 Clan Mudhorn is whole again 🥺🤗.
Is Cad really dead though? The red light on his chest was still beeping and you could actually hear it. They must've done that for a reason.
As far as we know I don’t think Bane had any life support systems. It could’ve just been a piece of tech on his vest like Boba has.
@@jonascommero6361 but then again we see he still has the breathing tubes and stuff that he has specifically for when he fights Jedi, even though there everyone thinks they’re all gone. He probably did have a contingency in case he did get got.
Probably my favourite episode!
Wish we saw it more
@@clintsummers3578 100% agree, I’ve spent ages defending the show throughout its duration but that really ruined parts of it for me.
It firstly was the sound the gamorrean makes before being eaten in ROTJ. Those same pig sounds were also used for the Acklay
@@peytone5387 Omg! I didnt realize til you said about Rotj. But then the Acklay had its pitch raised. It's like in Mandoloriam, the child makes kid sounds that are used in everything, but I tolerate it. The crowd cheer though took me out of it XD
There's definitely a Wilhelm scream in here - when one of the Pykes get's thrown by the Rancor.
If you watch the rancor action again, you can see it has a metal plate hanging in front of its chest. That's why it doesn't take more damage. At one point it's knocked off, but it picks up the plate and uses it as a shield for a couple of attacks. Pretty cool.
