Hey guys. Please comment. Look like. And thank you so much for continuing to support me and Sam on her first time watching this. It’s been a lot of fun doing this with you guys.
You ought to show her the trailers sometime before you watch them. That way she can experience all of the anticipation and joy that came along with them!
Kristian, I know it’s a lot to ask, but are you going to introduce Sam to the OG Daredevil ‘cuz you know she would love those 1shot hallway scenes? And of course, Charlie and Vinnie are so good!!!
You guys plan on doing any of the Marvel shows on your journey or just sticking to the movies? Gained a new subscriber, you guys are awesome. Enjoying your quick movie reviews as well.
This is honestly my favourite Marvel movie. The way it sets up both Cap's and Tony's psyches to explain why they make the choices they do and how they overlooked the things they did - masterful. Excited to watch!
It's always emotional for me to see Chadwick as Black Panther. He was my favorite Marvel character growing up and to see played with such respect and faith to the character hit hard, even before Chadwick's untimely passing
This movie isn't brought up nearly enough in the conversation of best comic book movie ever made. It's a bonafide masterpiece in my book. Everything it needs to do, it does perfectly.
i think it’s bcuz ppl still have various problems with it but they all seem like nitpicks to me, like one I’ve seen lately is that the sokovia accords plot kinda gets forgotten as the movie goes on, or one I’ve seen since it came out is that they make Tony too much of an asshole in this or something like that.
I still remember going to go see Captain America civil war at the movie theater and geeking out the whole entire time. One of my favorite MCU movies of all time
I will always remember this for how excited Schnepp was over the airport fight, and his appearance on Movie Talk where he kept shouting out, "Airport!" every few minutes.
After everything Cap had just gone through in the Winter Soldier with SHIELD and Hydra you could see why he didn't have faith in governments and agendas certainly do change.
"Let's give the government full control over every super powered individual. What could go wrong! Governments never use their power to abuse their own citizens." - Tony Stark probably
01:01:25 if you remember in Age of Ultron, Tony said he doesn't trust anyone without a dark side, and Steve said that's because you haven't seen it yet. It was at this moment Tony finally saw Steve's dark side, only for a brief moment.
It wasnt his dark side though. Steve was still completely in control, unlike Tony. What Steve did by going after the helmet was a tactic, a feint. He wanted Tony to think he was going for the head while he could give him the physical version of the order Power Down!! He wanted the reactor so he couldnt pursue, and they could make their escape. If he really was in the dark side and wanted him dead, he would have finished him off while he didnt have any power left.
@@davidmacy411If I were Tony Stark, I would say "Go ahead! Do it hero! You think I'm scared to die? Huh? Tell me! Are you gonna lie my friends as well like you lie to me about my family's death right now? Tell me! What kind of hero would love to keep a secret without telling them the truth? You know what Cap? You're not afraid of anyone. Truth is your greatest fear! Now, do it! Finish me! I'm right here! In my face! Do it!"
@@davidmacy411Steve selfishly, and knowingly, kept the secret of his parents from him. To me, that’s the dark side of Steve. He preaches truth, liberty, and judged those who believed in “partial truths” aka “lies” (I.e. nick fury and widow in WS). Just to go around and do the same when it served his agenda. “I thought I was sparing you, but I was sparing myself”. Selfish motives all the way around for cap.
The beauty of the movie is that i can literally empathize with every single character on all sides of this conflict. I can’t blame tony for freaking out about his parents, black panther for his dad’s death, zimo for his family’s deaths, cap for his loyalty and love for his best friend and bucky who just got highjacked and was forced to do horrible things AND REMEMBER THEM. The trauma for every character is palpable and understandable. I hate that all our good guys are fighting amongst themselves but they all have legitimate reasons to feel this way.
My opinion... the only incident causing casualties that can truly be blamed on the Avengers is Sakovia (Ultron), and that's specifically on Tony and Bruce. Everything else was them acting to save as many as possible due to events they did not cause.
Civil War is TOP 5 MCU movies. Will always love how grounded it is, all the conflicts are so well balanced. It is a serious, morally complex movie and I wish we had more Marvel films like this. Loving these reactions ♥️
I usually don't like watching reactions when someone involved has already seen it. But Kristian, you do a tremendous job of holding back, adding some insight for her at appropriate times, and hilarious comments. This is by far my favorite MCU reaction channel. I'm so happy she's having a great time, and in turn , so am I. Love you guys!
The entire time Chadwick was filming for this movie and beyond he was dealing with cancer. He was quietly suffering and it definitely brings you to tears.
I really cannot put into words the hype i had for Civil War in 2016. I remember being at school and seeing the Phase 3 reveal and having my mind absolutely blown when not Only Black Panther was announced to have his own film but announcing his first appearance for this film was such an amazing moment to experience. Chadwick Boseman will always be associated with my teenage years and the absolute Golden Age of the MCU on film.
I always talk about mouth drop and/or WOW moments in movies, so watching Sam with her eyes wide open and mouth on the floor throughout this reaction was priceless. Again, enjoying these reactions way more than I would have expected. Great content, guys!
Every time I watch Civil War it reminds me how great the MCU was. The action, the humor (w/o being silly), the friendship, the love…it was perfection. I hope they can get back on track.
I still think the premise of this movie where both Tony and Steve are both right and wrong is what makes it work. Also obviously the action is extremely well done and the stunt guys deserve all the love for this one.
Great watch! Sam's emotions and reasonings were all the same we had when we were in theaters.; all the ebbs and flows, turmoil... great stuff! Ant-Man becoming Giant-Man and Spiderman appearing were some of my favorite highlights of the film. Top tier MCU. Can't wait for Sam to see Dr. Strange and Black Panther.
Kristian you are seriously a genius for believing in Sam, creating these shifts in your channel. With the move to New York and doing these different things. Great stuff man
Sam get ready for the first ten minutes of wakanda forever and the middle of that film and the ending of that film... wow ermotions thank you for showing love to chadwick boseman... He sowed seeds on this earth. Many people like me you and sam and anyone reading this and countless others will grow from it. EPIC MOVIE! Sam, some facts. When Evans held the helicopter, he messed up his shoulder, which still bugs him. In the scene they show the other Winter Soldiers, the female soldier is actually Scar Jo's stunt double!
Best film in the MCU. One of the best action films ever. That final scene is like the culmination of everything in phase 1 and 2. “I don’t care, he killed my mom” is such a heartbreaking moment.
She nailed her rankings. Love watching each of these. Seeing someone like Sam react to watching these for the first time knowing nothing coming in is gold. I can’t wait to see her reactions to Infinity War and End Game.
It's so nice to watch someone who wasn't a super fan before and ruined by spoilers/knows everything from forums to comics to youtube deep dives. Sam watches with fresh eyes and reacts to movies the way a lot of people do! It's been fun!
Best part about this earlier MCU stuff is that comic book stuff aside, it was always shown that Tony would've ended up this way. Alone without his Avengers. We forget due to RDJ being such a great personality but Tony is incredibly stuck up and self-centered. Signing the accords isn't about helping more people to Tony its about keeping everyone on a leash. Which is funny since it directly contrast the quote Spidey told him about not helping people when you have the power to do so. So many moments in the film Tony is given a chance to change and he doesn't. The perfect two examples are when Rhodey gets downed and in the final fight when Cap deals the final blow. He blamed Falcon for Rhodey getting hit despite it being a fight he started and Vision dealing the hit. Then with Cap despite how much he claims to be a "friend" he actually thought that Steve of all people would kill him with the shield, when from the start of the film Steve's goal was for nobody to get hurt. Another detail people forget is that War Machine isn't a "hero" in the same sense that Cap, Hawkeye, or AntMan are. He's a soldier of the government. So everytime Tony confides in him about the accords its incredibly biased. Even going back to the Iron Man movies he stole the suit for the government to retrofit and use. Absolutely love this movie every time I rewatch. Great vid as usual Kristian!
Looking back..Wanda was always villain, Tony was narcissist , Natasha was always shady , Clint was in compitant and Cap should have died long back in WW2.
One of my favorite moments for the final fight is that Bucky goes out of his way to NOT kill Tony. He's a hardened and built assassin designed for death. But now that he can see through the fog, he doesn't. Even with Tony going all out to disintegrate him, Bucky is just trying to stop him. Trying to disable the suit by damaging the power core in his chest. He doesn't want him dead because that's not who he really is.
So much fun watching Sam’s reaction to this for her first time, and Kristian’s reaction after seeing it for many times, but now through her eyes anew. And these two have been friends for so much of their lives, that it makes this special. Thanks for this reaction. Still one of my top two or three favorites in the MCU.
Sam is easily one of the best reactors ever, her jokes paired with her emotional reactions. When she's invested emotionally you see it, nothing fake about her reactions at all. So glad to be able to take this journey with y'all!
We’ve only seen Black Widow scared twice. When Winter Solider was hunting her down in the street. And when she was trapped with Banner as he turned into the Hulk
The previous movies set up their opposing views perfectly. Tony feels guilty about Ultron and the damage he caused that way, so he is pro controlling authority. Steve just went through Hydra infiltrating Shield, so doesn't trust an authority that could be manipulated to support the wrong agenda. In this case, I'm Team Cap (well, I'm always Bucky, so that kind of implies Cap anyway)
I think what makes these reaction videos so special is that we get to relive the excitement of these movies again through the eyes of someone who has never seen them before. Especially these earlier films in the MCU that meant so much to us. ❤
What Sam doesn't know, is the comic version of Civil war was not a 5 on 5 fight, but the whole MARVEL universe. And.... the scene where Cap and Tony have the beam hitting Cap's shield is an ICONIC comic cover!
the last 2 captain america movie was goated. even for now, my #1 still captain america winter soldier. great to see her reaction, and i can't believe i was waiting for this series to keep goin on.
I was on Tony's side when I originally watched it. Captain America: Civil War is still a better movie than Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice (both cuts). No one has a mom named Martha in this one lol.
I'm ALWAYS with Cap on this one.. Governments can NEVER be trusted and Tony created Ultron which accumulated in Sokovia. Washington was literally Hydra trying to wipe them and including Ross and millions around the world out. New York was down to Shield tampering with powers they could scarcely imagine.. And Cap fights for the lil guy, like Spider-Man.. That's why Tony had that look on his face when Peter was explaining. He reminded him of Cap and we should've got a LOT more scenes and conversations with Cap and Spidey
Been binging the rewatches the past couple of days in anticipation of THIS one… and it didn’t disappoint. Re-living the MCU thru Sam has made me realize how much I miss loving the MCU. Let’s hope 2025 is the MCU’s comeback we’ve been waiting for ❤ Great work Kristian!
I'm catching up with reaction videos, but I love that Sam is enjoying the journey. It's great getting to see someone new fall in love with the characters and stories. If you're looking for other movies, I would highly recommend a little Netflix animation called 'Next Gen' I know not a lot of people have not seen it, but I think both of you would love it.
Sam's reaction watching the truth come out about Starks parents and Bucky was both heartbreaking and amazing to watch. You really cracked the code here Kristian, best reaction videos I've ever watched Sam is the best! Keep em coming!
58:48 Friendly reminder that, as of Iron Man 3, the Arc Reactor isn't in Tony's chest anymore. He had the shrapnel surgically removed so the arc reactor is just the power source of the suit now.
Seeing Sam's emotions towards the end is why I love watching these reactions. Kristian, you better prepare her tissues for Avengers 3 & 4. Thanks for the videos!
I really enjoyed the reaction, but I do wish we got to hear Sam freely yap about the movie a bit more at the end. I hope this doesn’t come off the wrong way, but it felt like Kris jumped in a bit too quickly with questions about each character/scene which made things feel a little interview-y. Would’ve loved to hear more of her unfiltered thoughts or a longer discussion session after the movie! That said, holy shit. Watching Sam react to Tony watching his parents' murder.. I instantly teared up too. Probably my favorite MCU reaction on UA-cam right now!
I live for these reactions!!… watching Sam go through these for the first time brings so many memories of us watching them for the first time… i remember being blown away by this movie… its still in my top 5 MCU along with The Winter Soldier.
Another banger of a reaction! Looking back at what the Russo Brothers did with this and winter solider and of course the avengers, it’s crazy how people are doubting them for the next 2 avengers movies coming up!
I remember rolling my eyes at Tony losing that double team fight at the end bcuz it felt like they made Cap win just bcuz it’s his movie but looking back on it… Tony definitely won that fight against both of them lmao
I dont wanna be that nerdy guy, but in the comics Tony actually wins and i believe he kills steve with the same move steve uses in the movie to power down tonys suit
@@TheRealNECROTICIn the Civil War comics Tony records/pre-programs all Cap’s moves into his suit, sneak attacks Cap from behind, and almost kills him. That’s where the “analyze his fight pattern” comes from, though the movie cheats it quite a bit making it into something that can be done on the fly. Then they fight again and Cap decides to play dirty, too. Cap has Vision disable Tony’s suit and almost beats Tony to death before realizing it’s all gone too far. Then he stops and surrenders. That’s where the ending scene of Cap mounting Tony and beating his helmet off is pulled from. Crossbones ends up shooting Steve and he’s believed dead, but later on is revealed to just being a coma type situation due to Steve’s regenerative healing.
Kristian, you hit the jackpot with Sam and these reactions. I love being able to relive these movies with you guys reacting. Saves me time and brightens my day.
Tony's side on the fight. Ross authorized the use of deadly force against Steve & Bucky. Tony was trying to bring them in alive. If they had gone with Tony instead of fighting, he would've found out the truth without all of the trauma.
Glad that she enjoyed it as much as I thought she would. This was such an emotional Rollercoaster, I'd read the comic before hand and even knowing the high points of it it was so emotional.
This movie is why the MCU works. Tension built up between characters we’ve seen 4+ times. In Phase 4/5 has anyone appeared 3 times yet? Kang? He’s gone! How are you supposed to invest in an overall story if there’s no main characters to attach yourself to like we did with Cap or Tony

Sam’s emotional reaction to the reveal about Tony’s parents is spot on
What Sam doesn't know, is the comic version of Civil war was not a 5 on 5 fight, but the whole MARVEL universe. And.... the scene where Cap and Tony have the beam hitting Cap's shield is an ICONIC comic cover!
Watching Sam experience these for the first time really brings back the feelings we all had. So much fun!
the last 2 captain america movie was goated. even for now, my #1 still captain america winter soldier. great to see her reaction, and i can't believe i was waiting for this series to keep goin on.
Kristian I look forward to these😆 to reexperience these with Sam, is so much fun. Keep posting!!
Will do!
Seeing Sam hyped and your big ol’ grin knowing what’s in store is perfect lol
Haha thanks!
Peak MCU! I'll be amazed if they ever get back to this level of storytelling, but I hope they do!
I was on Tony's side when I originally watched it. Captain America: Civil War is still a better movie than Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice (both cuts). No one has a mom named Martha in this one lol.
Though different from the comic book story, I think this one hit all the right notes. Though Zemo is underutilized; he's a great villain.
Omg, seeing Sam’s face when Tony’s parents death scene was playing I wanted to give her a hug. You guys are awesome ❤️
The Tony Stank,Joke never fails to crack me up.😂😂😂
When Paul Rudd said “Igot something kind of big better run like hell” it looked like Kristian was thinking that’s what she said haha
i friggen love Sam! it's so much fun to see someone react to the mcu for the first time!
I love how invested Sam is. ❤❤❤
You really cracked the code here Kristian, best reaction videos I've ever watched
Sam is the best! Keep em coming!
Sam yelling “Dont do it” to Bucky trying to rip out the arc reactor was so great
58:48 Friendly reminder that, as of Iron Man 3, the Arc Reactor isn't in Tony's chest anymore. He had the shrapnel surgically removed so the arc reactor is just the power source of the suit now.
Too many people forget that. Bucky and Cap weren’t trying to kill Stark, just shut down the suit.
I love this! Brings back all the feels from the first time watching
Seeing Sam's emotions towards the end is why I love watching these reactions. Kristian, you better prepare her tissues for Avengers 3 & 4. Thanks for the videos!
When you watch Dr. Strange pay attention to the phone call he received in the car. 😉
Haha
Love that you guys are doing these. Longtime fan of Kristian here!
Thank you and happy you are watching!
This was so fun! I was amazed how Sam's list changed so much as a result of this movie.
This was such an emotional Rollercoaster, I'd read the comic before hand and even knowing the high points of it it was so emotional.
much love for this. Sam is awesome, loved the excitement for Queens!
To this day my number 1 MCU. Watching it with Sam makes it even better.
