It is only heavily implied that he is dead, but it very well could be that he was captured and taken for a covenant outpost to be interrogated but has never broke or lost hope to escape. Sure it is a cop out but it's better than what they did to Black Team.

Say what you want about the importance of reaches theme, this game is dying hard and fast. At this point I’m so used to being disappointed by present day devs, I honestly would enjoy the fan service of noble 6 being alive. There are plenty of ways to make it more than just service as well. Perhaps this 6 could be a more evolved, traumatized and humanoid version of John. One that made the sacrifice but never got to leave his own burial grounds, basically becoming an alternate doom guy.

It's a pretty exciting idea really. They are rebooting the story without destroying the franchise, bringing back one of the most intimidating villains in Halo(I think Atriox is alive) thus opening the possibility to see Spirit of Fire, and giving us the chance to explore the story without having to recap the mistakes of Halo 4 & 5 we get to recap the AI war while finding the other Halo characters. Also instead of a love story I think we'll see a father and daughter bonding throughout the show, this would make it more touching to me. The daughter of Cortana and Chief.

Those elites wouldnt just let him go and reach wouldnt be habitable until July 7 2589 (which is the end date of halo lore, if you ignore the halo 3 trailers). *If* he ever comes back that would be the final nail in the coffin. It would be hard proof that 343 was right to seek a broader audience. I already have more than enough reasons to not consider anything that happens after the halo 4 campaign as canon.
I’ll just add that Johnson made his way home, and there was no realistic way he could have. Noble 6 was far, far more capable than Johnson. He’s one only two Spartans to ever be classified Hyper Lethal, and that Elites also wanted off that planet. He could easily have evaded the covenant and used one of the many jump capable ships that were still around.
It's a common trope in writing to have a character killed off-screen or not show it so that there's always the opportunity to bring them back. Six's death was one such event. Realistically he's dead. Personally I don't believe for a second he actually is, but I also don't think the current team has the tact or skill to do a "Surprise I'm not actually dead" to the degree Six deserves.
Noble 6’s helmet recorded him being stabbed by an energy sword lol. which Emile didn’t live real long after taking just one of those. And supposedly 6 had been holding that army off for hours by himself so he he probably wasn’t in peak condition to live through a stabbing along with all the other wounds lol.

How would they really manage that? We watched 6 go down fighting through his helmet cam. Sure, he's one of the best, if not the best because Chief has that whole "luck" thing. Bringing him back however, as a miracle of some kind, and if he was still combat capable, he'd be unpredictable..

Yes 343, we don't need good game play or original armor design, we don't even need to stand out from any other scifi shooter(which halo has always done) we need TOKEN characters to represent us!!
To be fair, she's been in the game since launch. This isn't her first appearance. That aside, I kinda had the same reaction. I'm fine with introducing new characters, but why not someone like Palmer (she was THE Spartan-IV until this game), or Locke (I know the campaign possibly killed him, but if he'd had another purpose in the game maybe they wouldn't have)? Or, hell, Kelly? Linda? Fred? Vale? Tanaka? Basically any of Halo 5's many characters that went sorely underutilized? It's a common trope in writing to have a character killed off-screen or not show it so that there's always the opportunity to bring them back.
Six's death was one such event. Realistically he's dead. Personally I don't believe for a second he actually is, but I also don't think the current team has the tact or skill to do a "Surprise I'm not actually dead" to the degree Six deserves.

Noble 6’s helmet recorded him being stabbed by an energy sword lol. which Emile didn’t live real long after taking just one of those. And supposedly 6 had been holding that army off for hours by himself so he he probably wasn’t in peak condition to live through a stabbing along with all the other wounds lol.

How would they really manage that? We watched 6 go down fighting through his helmet cam. Sure, he's one of the best, if not the best because Chief has that whole "luck" thing. Bringing him back however, as a miracle of some kind, and if he was still combat capable, he'd be unpredictable..

Like tai and the locust. Plus if I remember correct didn’t it say missing in action also his body was shown next the the helmet. So its very possible that he survived

Think that was just cinematic flare to cut it off right before he gets stabbed. It’s pretty clear that the intent of Reach’s ending is he died.
I wish people's fascination with characters miraculously coming back to life or surviving would cease. Noble 6 I'd dead, very dead if we are being honest because we literally watched it happen. He was shot many times than stabbed by a hod damn energy sword. If that's not dead I don't know what dead is I guess.

They really gain almost nothing from capturing a spartan like Noble 6 and I'm pretty sure they don't capture Spartans anyway. Also if they did I doubt he would break, he'd probably find a way to escape or commit suicide.

Everyone always talks about how Reach is a masterpiece, yeah the story was great but the gameplay was literally just a quality of life update from H3.
And sometimes that's all you need. The story and music make up the rest. Elden Ring is currently considered a masterpiece too, despite for the most part just being more Dark Souls (I love ER btw). If the gameplay is already good, don't try to fix it. Take that time instead to craft a better narrative and visual direction.

Yes 343, we don't need good game play or original armor design, we don't even need to stand out from any other scifi shooter(which halo has always done) we need TOKEN characters to represent us!!
To be fair, she's been in the game since launch. This isn't her first appearance.
That aside, I kinda had the same reaction. I'm fine with introducing new characters, but why not someone like Palmer (she was THE Spartan-IV until this game), or Locke (I know the campaign possibly killed him, but if he'd had another purpose in the game maybe they wouldn't have)? Or, hell, Kelly? Linda? Fred? Vale? Tanaka? Basically any of Halo 5's many characters that went sorely underutilized?
When you have that many characters that just kind of aren't doing anything and would fit the role well enough, yet aren't being used... yeah, you kinda start to ask why.
