When the wife and I are both home and I’m handling the kids while she is texting.
I feel it’s a big boundary but with your advice I believe I can tell her “I feel overwhelmed and I would like you to assist me with them.”
Thank you for the advice and video. I don’t want to feel bad for looking out for myself sometimes.

When it comes to being a caregiver or helping a loved one, how do you set boundaries with them? The last 5 years I've been helping my grandmom out, but she has been trying to force me to be her caregiver, that's not something I want to do. I just want to be a granddaughter and help her out, but not the other stuff that comes with it. My grandmom lives on her own, and I do help her out a lot with running errands and keeping her company. But I feel more like a servant when I'm at her house. I am 31 and these last few years I feel like she has been controlling me, even when I'm home it's like I have no life of my own because she constantly just wants to run me around. When I try to say no, she guilt trips me and manipulates me and that is something she does a lot. I am not saying I want to stop helping her, but I am saying that she shouldn't make me feel bad for wanting to live my life and she shouldn't guilt trip me or manipulate me when she can't get her way. And it's not just me that she does this to either, it's other people. But the difference is they know how to be assertive when telling her no when she's running them dry, me, not so much. I'm trying to come up with the words to tell her how I feel without coming off as mean.
