After watching about 6 videos about using a crank removal tool, your video was the best. After watching your video, I went out and removed the crank in less than 5 minutes. Thanks.
Eureka. I thought my Park tool was the wrong one. Now I know it’s not. Thank you so much Tony. Having a tough day but it looks like I got something right👍
Those sram nx cranks are nice! A steal for 20 bucks. I just ordered a rock shox judy silver tk air fork to replace my xct fork on my giant talon. I cant wait. Great video!
2:00 hey there! thank you for the tip but can you also demonstrate how should one fix the crank if its not going in fully!! been trying for a long time but couldnt find any videos
There are several reasons why your cranks stripped out, none of then related to turning it in hand tight. 1. The threads on your crank were already damaged. 2. The extractor you used was machined slightly undersized (it happens). 3. The cranks were seized onto the spindle, ( soak it for a while in penetrating oil and apply gentle heat from a hot air gun). Tightening the the extractor onto the crank with a spanner will put unnecessary stress on the threads in the crank. As long as the extractor is fully screwed in by hand that is all that’s needed.

thanks, you are the first one to explain the CWP-7
Extremely clear and helpful instructions. Thanks for posting.
Lifesaver!! All the tutorials I could find were for good bikes and this one is applicable to my junk
😂 that’s awesome! Cheap bikes need love too ❤️

You saved me! Switching the doo-dads was not even in my mind. Thanks man!
If you added UK Amazon ref links, I would've used them. Your tutorial is great.

I am assuming you are replying to the guy that stripped his threads and I totally agree 👍
@@TonyHob yes thanks! It's just simple engineering.
Nicely explained
Great Video.. Excellent job.
Do I need to grease the crank extractor? LBS said I should, even that vaseline was ok as a grease.
I've never greased it. You can put a drop of oil on the threads as basic maintenance and to reduce friction if you want.
Great information like a fool been using to big of puller.
Very common mistake. I know this and still ruined a crank arm once 😓
well...thanks for the stripped crank threads "I just turn it in hand tight never had a problem..." glad it worked out for you bro...
if you did not do this 5:24 and 6:34 that's why you stripped them. Not because it was hand tight. in over 40 years I have never stripped crank threads
@@TonyHobI’m sure the 24” pipe wrench had nothing to do with it either! Lol
And….we have a new type of pedal strike…😜…where park tool crank extractor starts bossing over non metallic pedals…🤩
😂
tks a lot !
