The Z790 Edge WiFi is part of MSI's MPG series that combines performance with stylish looks. The attention to detail on this board is unbelievable and it's packed with a strong power delivery system, lots of drive connectors, and plenty of fan and RGB headers. Just bought the ITX version of this for my Mini ITX build...
Also have to newer version of this for my most current build, a i9-14900KF...
Did you have any difficulty installing a normal cpu cooler? I feel like the normal mounts on my AS500 cooler aren’t enough.
HEADS UP IF YOURE PUTTING THIS IN A FRESH BUILD WITH WINDOWS 11
For whatever reason this boards Lan port doesn’t play nice with windows 11 until you get the drivers installed, and it doesn’t give you the driver install prompt until you connect to the internet.
The workaround is to use an Ethernet to usb adapter and run your Ethernet into a usb port until you can get the drivers installed.
It took me hours to figure this out.
Can you you connect to Wi-Fi wireless?
Just got my ddr5 board and it came with a usb that has a lab driver setup on it

I'm about to finally upgrade my pc again after another 5-6 year cycle, and this is exactly what I am researching and aiming for, i5 13600K and this msi Z790 edge.
Do I need to flash BIOS first for 13th Gen or am I good to go out of the box?
@@Lishkabro wait for the intel 14th gen first. I don't think this board can support it. They said it will be released this year, so I'd wait a couple of months if I were you

I am also wondering where the wifi card is because my pc is NOT detecting it.
I've had one of these for 3 weeks now and it's great BUT, there;s a lot of coil whine which, had i known, I would have opted for a different board. Other than that it's pretty solid running a 14900K with ease.... As long as the latest BIOS is in there.
Just like yours, mine DID NOT come with a manual. Made me pretty sad that they don't offer it with the $300-400 product.

So I know this board has an HDMi and Display ports but they aren't allowing me to connect a monitor to them, does the mothboard come with integrated graphics because I couldn't find them in the Bios.
Motherboard don’t contain integrated graphics. Make sure to buy a cpu that has integrated graphics to display visual. Otherwise you need to buy a graphics card.
Igpu is a feature of cpu. Be sure to buy a cpu that has one, enable it in the bios, then you're good to go.
So you have to overclock to get those speeds like 7000mhz? I’m kinda confused.

My motherboard z790 ddr5 don’t have lighting on my motherboard anyone help
When the Raid is active, on this motherboard no hard disk is recognized from Bios, this means that software like Acronis with USB Boot does not recognize any disk drive and therefore it is not possible to CLONE the startup disk. I have an open ticket with MSI where they tell me it's normal ! 😵💫
Do anyone recommend buying something else other than this?
Question. If I have my graphics card in the PCI Gen 5 slot and my M.2 card in the Gen 5 slot ..that means both the graphics card and m.2 are sharing lanes to the cpu? So I'm only getting half the performance for both?

@andrewpetrilli5701 yea so there's 24 lanes. Graphics card in gen5 slot will take 16 lanes and the m.2 in 5th Gen slot will take 4 lanes. So it's all good. No issues.

@brydenkelsey3257 so far it's great although I'm only able to overclock the RAM to 5200MHz even tho my DDR5 RAM is rated for 5600MHz. It still runs awesome. No problem editing/exporting videos super fast with DaVinci Resolve and butter smooth framerates on maxed out gaming settings.
@Dymindntheruff does it matter if the nvme is gen 4 or gen 5? Im using a gen 4 in the slot M1 and was wondering if im doing it right
Does anyone else have problems with getting MSI center to work. I can’t control the RGB on the board because I can’t get MSI center to let me download anything. Also I’m having audio issues and I’ve check that my audio drivers are update. Has anyone found a fix for any of this?

I have this board and trying to instal it in an o11 dynamic case. Do I have to take the I/o shield off to install because it’s not lining up with my standoffs

@novatoopni yeah asus claim to be the "be all, end all" but half of it is that ROG logo 😂 my opinion... but after having msi mobos and gpus for a while now and no complaints I recommend msi.. still buy rog/asus hardware but if msi has the same option and is cheaper (which it always is) then I'm buying msi...

When you want to install your SSD you need to put the SSD that has the windows or Linux, whatever you prefer for operating system in the first slot.
I think MSI sound card is not better than ASUS ROG SupremeFX one, isn't it ?

Yeah, the ROG Tuf motherboard is an 8 layer, and is $299 at Bestbuy. Pretty crazy.
