    Tarps, heavy duty and large tarps to cover areas and find the rock and get areas cleared so you can maintain them efficiently. Gotta cover guava piles too, or they regrown where they are laying down. Tarps are crucial to land development in puna. Mexican sunflower is actually going to be bad for your trees long term used as a chop and drop, so it’s less than ideal.

      How is sunflower bad for trees?

    • @punaforager
      @punaforager 10 місяців тому

      @@danielnaberhaus5337 hi I think the red Mexican sunflower is more reasonable and less of a hassle long term, the yellow takes over and when you have a lot of trees and other things to chop and drop it gets to be pretty intense. I have a few friends who got involved with it and I think in hindsight they wished they had planted comfrey instead.

    Which side of the island is that? Would love to know if there are any properties available in the neighborhood for those who want to do likewise.

    Iwould dig a shallow swale across the accessway so water gets tipped off either end into vegetation so that would stop run off

    What is cinder?

    • @Offgrid_Neighbors808
      @Offgrid_Neighbors808  8 місяців тому +1

      Cinder is a very porous volcanic rock.
      At least to my knowledge

    Where are they moving and why are they selling?

    • @flyboykfpr
      @flyboykfpr 8 місяців тому

      They are moving down the mountain where the soil is better for coconut trees. They are selling to buy the land down the mountain.
