in most cases a lot of multiple workloads are favored in intel cuz they got the separates cores to run multiple softwares with ease. intel extreme boards with lots of m.2 slots and back connect features are good for it. in amd boards theres no extreme cuz I think in workstation units such as 3d modelling are favored in amd. pretty much 3x m.2 slots and 2x pcie 5.0 x16 are enough and everything else is pretty much a bonus
So, this mobo, same as all others for Z890, can only run 1 Gen5 SSD (but with several Gen4 too); without impacting a GPU using all 16 lanes of PCIe5.0? This is an architecture limitation, am I right?
I don't think anyone uses those anymore. I haven't seen PLX for PCIe 5.0, and if it exists, it's probably ridiculously expensive. That would probably push the price of this to $1200 or more.
Hmm... I would like to have this board in white and for the AMD platform. That would the dream combo, id say. For this price range, they should offer watercooling for the vrms like they did for the Glacier series.
@@GGFEvents I think that would be the best example of a flagship motherboard, regardless of the price, people want the best. A lot of rich people would love a refresh of the Glacier series, but for AMD. A waterblock that covers the CPU and VRAMs, screen on the M.2, Q-Release, etc.

Investing in the ROG Z890 motherboard seems like a significant mistake right now. The latest Intel CPUs have proven to be not only unstable but also slower in performance compared to AMD’s offerings. Given these issues, it’s unlikely that many people will opt for this board, as Intel’s recent CPU lineup has been a letdown for most gamers. What we really need are high-quality motherboards like this for the AMD 9000X3D series. AMD CPUs are currently a much better option for motherboard manufacturers to support, and I would definitely consider purchasing a premium board like this-if it were compatible with AMD instead. As it stands, the ROG Z890 feels like a waste of potential, tied to an underwhelming CPU lineup. Anyone else think so?
Yes but they are limited run meaning they aren't the flagship they would fall into the Halo category. Halo being generally reserved for limited run, feature prototype, R&D PoC designs, and first of its kind tech. For instance each time AsRock does an Aqua Board that's a Halo product.
These Extreme boards should also be on the AMD platform.

I've heard Intel pays motherboard brands to make ugly boards for AMD
Asus said they have no plans for an Extreme for X870E
💯💯💯
X670E Extreme
Wow, what a great mainboard !
You can build a high-end gaming system with the new 265K !
Overclocker's dream motherboard for sure. Beautiful motherboard.
msi meg z890 godlike better
Apex is for overclockers. Higher memory speeds with 2-DIMM boards vs 4-DIMM boards.

It’s because of the cpu limits
Is there a AMD version?
Nice, I still have the x570 extreme. wouldn't mind this one.
If they will have this for AMD I'm sold...
Bring on the Amd version Asus....
Will not be as good. Never is.
@mahmahmahmahmah6699 I have the x670e extreme it's good enough 😂
They should make a white version. I will buy it instead of the Taichi AQUA one.
Stu got Q jokes today 🤣

Buy this and then next year Intel announce new socket 💀💀💀
legit whow ill be buying those mobos if people are not even intrested in the cpus

@GGFEvents it normally is. If it isn't this year that's on me. Chock it up to life being busy.
@IDirtyMangoI definitely not this year. It came out at launch and is purely an overlcockers board with 2 dimm.

Such an amazing motherboard paired with such poor CPUs… Intel's new generation isn't selling well, so how can this succeed?

AMD's Zen architecture had the exact same issues on launch. Its going to take a few bios updates for the performance to be improved for games.
