- iPhone 6 power button not working? Replace the power button flex by yourself and the problem will be solved.

Tips:
1. Don’t mix up screws. They are different in length.
2. Clean camera lens before installing rear camera.
3. There is a wired screw securing the motherboard which is marked by blue circle in video. You can undo it by a 2.0mm flathead screwdriver.

I noticed some errors
2:26 - there is no need to remove the right screw, it can remain on motherboard
3:46 - the left tab of this bracket should be under the motherboard
4:03 - the bracket is placed the wrong way round
Also 4:03, it is a lot easier to fix 1 bracket at a time, than all at once

Hello, I changed screen to iPhone 6 plus, but home button and power button work to lock the screen but not to unlock screen. Is there maybe an issue with specific cable I ve put wrongly? 🤔

very clear visuals, this is not easy for the inexperienced, make sure you buy flex WITH brackets attatched, keep screws organized where it is clear what they are and cannot be knocked on floor, use MAGNETIC screwdriver, only use tweezers for plates as again screws easily flip away, take your time good luck
Update: turns out you're right, I managed to fix it by unsticking and reinstalling the power flex and this time it clicked easily! Thanks for your Tip!

I literally don't know what happened to my power button, i just woke up and tried to watch the hour and then noticed it was pushed in. I think it might have been the bumper but i doubt it. do you think is temporary? or i have to buy a whole new replacement and do all this process
i went to 4 different iphone repair shops and NO ONE wanted to do this for me. so i'm gonna try to replace teh button myself. my ribbon cable is fine, just my button seems stuck. so i'm gonna try and open it and replace the button itself.
i have a couple of questions. do i HAVE to put the sticky stuff on the battery again when reinstalling? what is the consequence of not button those stickers on the battery when installing it again?
any tips on how to keep track of all of the different screw lengths? thanks

My volume button is pushed in after I dropped it. The phone is fine and the button still works fine, I was just wondering if there was anyway I could find a way to pop the button back out.

Great video! I followed your instructions (slowly) and was successful. I do not recommend replacing your flex cable on your own unless you are patient. This is not a quick-fix for a beginner. Thanks for the tutorial!
how long did it take you? I've never repaired an iPhone before but need to replace my flex cable, any tips that you can share? I hear that all of the screws are different sizes, did you sort them all out, or just pick ones that fit when you put it back together? cheers!
Ian Mcstruthers As I took out each part and their associated screws, i put them in their own bowl. I kept the bowls in order, so that when I followed the video to put them back in, I knew which parts went where. It seemed like overkill, but I would recommend it because they are many different sizes.
The only other thing I would mention, is my replacement flex cable did not come with the tiny metal stick that the power button touches when pressed. I had to peel the flex cable off my existing tiny metal stick (great terminology) and reuse it. I was surprised it worked.
Oh and it took me about an hour. But most of that was fighting with this tiny side of the phone screw I couldn't get in. This is Duff2348 btw
Awesome thank you!! Yeah I heard about the "metal stick" problem from others, I checked the comments on the flex cable I bought off amazon and people said there that it actually came with it so I'm crossing my fingers that that's true.

I would like to know if by replacing the power putting flex cable, seeing as it had the flash module on it and such, if it will fit the issue with my cameras and flashlight not working. If someone can help me figure this out before I go ordering anything, I would be greatful.

when I installed the new cable to the metal frame the button can't be pressed at all.. I have tried pushing the little button on the cable and it clicks normally but the external case button cannot be pressed when I put the screws. Any ideas on how to fix this??
+alderham434 when you assemble the power power button flex, you need to make adjustment before fasten to screw tightly.
+Wit Rigs Basically what I did was when I sticked the power button flex to the metal plate I thought that I have to fold the rest of the cable so that the whole other part of the cable (Flash, microphone, etc.) would be in correct position. Maybe I didn't stick the small button to the metal plate correctly, so I will try adjusting it a little and will see if it works. Thanks for your reply and the time for posting this video. No, all screws in red are different size, you have to pay attention when take it off. you need to take off bracket from old power button flex and install it one new flex.

Mine fell and got smashed in. Now I don't know if it's the button itself or the metal frame bent slightly and it can't pop back out. 😔

Easier and uncomplicated way is get and eyebrow brush or “clean” tooth brush put some alcohol into them or water even works brush it for around 10sec. You can do this if you don’t want to risk your phone like me I have the 8 so no worries 😉 if your phone’s lock screen button keeps getting stuck it’s mostly cause of dust and it gets stuck when you take screenshots I now am used to it and just use my nail to move it
My I phone 6 power button is pushed in but I have not opened my phone yet due to the fact that I don't know what the problem may be what do you think it can be?

Never connect battery until you connect flex cables. It's going to be working on 6 ,but still can cause DFU. If that was 6s models you will see smoke coming out from logic board.

You put the plate for the speaker and power button cables on the wrong way. You should at least address this since most people watching this wont rewind the video to see its proper orientation.

guys you have to unplug the battery first you can fry your whole iphone. bad video that they didnt show this. If your phone doesnt work you can try and unplug the battery and plug it back in
