It is too frustrating 😖 first Don giller and now letterman is doing the same thing this channel gives me this information
R.I.P our dearest MARIANNE FAITHFULL . You will never be forgotten. Thank you for what you have given us 💔😭🥺🙏🤍🕊
My goodness. That voice. Unique, by the literal definition of the word. RIP Marianne.
She was in" the R. Stones Rock n Roll Circus" movie. Such a beauty .
R I P 🌹
I brought her flowers and she hugged me..a LONNNG time ago RIP Marianne😢
A lovely memory for you. She suffered alot in life. Eternal now.
"I swear upon the road I'm on, I'll give you all I have, I'm strong.'
That's brought me to tears today, on the day Marianne's left us. What a long road you had, Marianne. May flights of angels sing thee to thy rest.
The original cool rock and roll chick. Beautiful woman, unique voice, never tried to be anyone other than herself. Completely mesmerizing. I loved her from As Tears Go By to Gypsy Faerie Queen. RIP, beautiful lady, you will be missed.
R.I.P Marianne, Beautiful Singer and a Beautiful Woman.❤
This is so lovely to see at the top when you search “Marianne Faithfull.” I’m worried that we Americans don’t have a proper context for how much she means historically, so to see her in the Ed Sullivan theatre is touching. And singing one of her best songs as well. RIP you fabulous woman, wherever I go I want you to know, how much you mean to me.
@WRA82 it pained m when I heard the news about her death because she is tied to a great era and history . RIP Marianne
She certainly lived a life. A true legend.❤️
Wow, how death has taken away another piece of my life with the disappearance of this great singer who was present in one of the most beloved and enjoyable parts of my life. It is felt a lot, people disappear that one remembers and places in excellent times already past! Today we see the tears pass by. RIP Marianne
You so right , death has taken away a truly beautiful and talented singer. I was part of the swinging sixties which was one of the happiest times of my life. RIP Marianne Faithfull❤
@joanmanuel469 I’m sad because Marianne is part of music and music history . Her time was magical. Still had a great voice
Thanks for posting this. RIP Marianne!
Her cover of "Its All Over Now Baby Blue" is powerful . . RIP Marianne
Broken English, I just listened to it yesterday, so I'm very sad to hear the news. So very talented and will be missed.
Wow. I heard the news and wondered if Dave ever interviewed her. I cant wait to get home after work and watch this. Thank you Dave and all! Her life for a while was like A Boulevard of Broken Dreams. Love her.
He interviewd her once, but she performed on david letterman twice. One for the kissing time album and the second and last time for the easy come easy go album.
@@jorgepacheco9845 Thank you.
RIP Dear Marianne. 😥😥😥
RIP Marianne Faithful Such a Legend, Fighter and Strong Woman. RIP
Marianne sings with angels. RIP 🌹
R.I.P. Marianne Faithfull. She and Anita Pallenberg helped her men transform from bluesmen to international rock stars.
Anita and Marianne were dazzling characters. I bet Mick is still jealous! The girls are in a beautiful place having so much fun✌️
@@timmyanne4931 - I seriously doubt that Mick is jealous of either Anita or Marianne. Let's get real.
what a beautiful lady with an amazing unique voice
Bon voyage you wonderful woman, you were a class act, and will be remembered, and rightly so.
Nobody like her anywhere, strength , class, talent, beauty , and as down to earth cool as any Rolling Stone . A true woman of substance❤❤😢
I loved her work with Mick, Keith and Metallica. May she rest in peace. 💔🙏
May Her Soul Rest In Heaven

- For better or worse we are at the life span end of when media became mass. We get to hear of every death but Marianne's is especially touching. Was watching the blue vid when she died.
Interestingly, Garth Hudson played on at least 2 of her records, both produced by Hal Wilner. My favorites.
I too am deeply saddened.
Thanks for this. Will miss you.
For the past few months now, I've been notified about celebrity deaths through this channel posting ominous former interviews of now-deceased celebrities. RIP.
So cool and so beautiful. In 1980, in high school, I had a noon radio show with another girl. We lost the show for playing Why'd Ya Do It. Still listening after all these years.
If you want to hear the voice of an angel, do yourself a favor and find her version of 'As tears go by'. RIP
Music was her life.
R I P Dear Marianne
Wow, I've never seen this before. She seems so light and happy in the interview and what a great version of "Wherever I Go" from Kissin Time. Which is a fantastic, varied album, featuring collaborations with Billy Corgan (like this song), Beck and Blur. I know her voice wasn't for everyone but it had such soul and character. It reminded me of Bette Davis's. I'll really miss her.
- Thx Dave and crew. 💗 You're among the best.
God bless you dear Marianne...Thank you for your art...!!!
Absolute legend. Rest well, Marianne❤
Perfect full circle moment of her performing at the Ed Sullivan theater, where she was never invited. RIP Marianne ❤🙏🌹🌟💎
Marianne We Love You💟Your music will live on💟Loved Your Voice💟Your Music 🎶🎵🎶Forever in Our Heart's💟
Another girl born rich who got to party with the “bad boys”. Had a pretty rough voice, but lived like the princess she always wanted to be.
She did a great version of John Lennon's Working Class Hero
She will truly be missed. Of course, her music will live on forever.
... and so will her soul.
@ivannovotny4552 True.
Such an amazing voice so unforgettable 💘
Rest In Peace Marianne, lovely Legend
"My riches can't buy everything
I want to hear the children sing
All I hear is the sound
Of rain falling on the ground
I sit and watch as tears go by".... thank you Marianne😢
She was shy and timid with her debut single on B&W TV. Stunning with no bling.
So many memories of this star, R.I.P. Marianne❤
Marianne Faithfull passes at 78
I didn't even know she was sick

I'm heartbroken. She moved me deeply...
RIP
Sleep well, Marianne. Hope you meet up with Aniita soon.
R.I.P. to a truly one-of-a-kind artist
R.I.P. Marianne Faithful!😢
So gracious ❤my icon ✨
God bless, Marianne.
I have come to learn that when I see that Dave has put up an old interview, I know that person has passed.
Legendary Marianne... Letterman seems smitten, and what man wouldn't be? 🥀
RIP in peace, Marianne
Rest in Peace. This interview must be around 2012 if her " baby" is now 36. I regret not seeing her. I've been o Irving Plaza in 1994 to see Diamanda Galas and John Paul Jones. So sad- my condolences
It's true. This bird could sing.
edit: If I were purely critical... Good tone throughout her career and her recordings, but her phrasing is not quite there. All of that is evident in both the old recordings and this performance. The repeated phrases, in particular, are a bit fatiguing. She's got the mechanics of singing down, but I feel she doesn't always know what to do with the text, and this is why her career didn't bring her as much fame as other singers. She was also charming tho.
Nah for real tho. She is nothing all that special. Lennon made her historically significant, but I think he was more interested in inventing or popularizing the diss track on vinyl @ Mick. Her involvement in this cannot be discounted, but it is what it is.
Thank you for posting this and allowing full context.
RIP Marianne Faithful
Classy Lady indeed!
Cigarettes are the worst drug.
^
Honestly : I don't think I've EVER heard a Girl with such cigarette stained & damaged lungs as Marianne’s, yet she still remained SO BEAUTIFUL , even as an older Lady & her good looks & sexy husky voice combined with such a beautiful speaking voice & beautiful accent & strong yet soft pronunciation.
Will miss her, for sure
Hi,name of the song,pls?

This beautiful song reminds me of Melanie Sapka.

@reyramirez5710 Thanks
RIP warrior~~~
Another obituary notice.
Did her divorce mean she was "unFaithful"?
To all XX chromosomes, This woman is the best example of female empowerment. An excellent role model.
🙏🙏🙏 *John 3:16* 🙏🙏🙏
Man I hate that talk show channels hold these and upload them when someone dies purely for clicks and the highest possible engagement. Really disgusting stuff
Letterman had a nightly show for over 30 years, can you imagine how many hours of interview segments that adds up to. It's not fair to expect them to upload all of that at once, they're trying to build up this channel. I was happy to see this segment and think it's an appropriate tribute.
It’s a nod, in memorial.
BTW- 7 minute videos are not monetized
so she died? or?
Hep C ??
🥺🕯
✌🏻🌏🇦🇺🤘🏻
Could have swore she died around 10 years ago??
Lesbian
Lmao what? The internet is absolutely wild.
So???
56 here. Looks older. JMO
dude she just passed away, have some more respect instead of calling her old looking
If you knew the hard life she lived you'd know how fortunate we are that she lived to 78. And I think she looks terrific here. Such a talented person.
She looked lovely. You have to give her credit. She overcame so much adversity and personal tragedy. Can you imagine being homeless and forgotten, but somehow surviving it all and being able to use the musical gifts that God gave her, to make a comeback and still accomplish so much? RIP Marianne.
