Honestly, the amount of talent and the level of talent of South Africa's team is crazy! 😅 I'm a Kiwi (New Zealander) so I'm backing the All Blacks first, but if we can't make it happen, I'm backing the Springboks! 💪😁
You are a good sportsman @anonymishap... May the best team win. Good luck. From @Springboks supporter.
Australia is out nate so is fi
Hopefully, we're seeing eachother in the final....
The northern hemisphere teams have gotten very loud.
@@mariejones5524 Fiji playing against England this weekend ..
I'm a Springbok supporter first, and an All Blacks supporter second. I'm just looking forward to a game where both teams just go all out and play a legendary game. Good luck and much love to you and both our teams.
He's a Springbok captain. You can pronounce his name like "see ya" Thats how he's name sound like. Proudly South African🥰🤩
"He looks like a King!... A Warrior!" That's captain Siya Kolisi.
Japan, like a lot of other countries use international players. South Africa has proudly local bred players.
Every one of them
I enjoy watching NFL fans discovering rugby and loved your reaction to our boys. Our rugby is the one thing that truly unites all South Africans. The Boks are our national pride and joy.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂South African, here... Yes - Cheslyn Kolbe IS at the WC.. And yes - Grant Williams is a great player.. One of the fastest in the Bok-squad..
Prepare yourself for a worldcup final between South Africa (Springboks) and New Zealand (All Blacks).....and yes, Kolbe is still playing and is on fire as always. This will be a epic clash. Both teams won the worldcup 3 times
I so much love it that there are Americans Interested in learning rugby. Love to help them with rules and players. You guys really should look around in your areas where you live because there is actually rugby clubs and also USA rugby team
Kolbe has a cousin called Wayde van Niekerk the current 400m World Record Holder.
Cheslin is only 30 years old. He's phenomenal, and pure joy to watch in action.
Fly Half (jersey no.10) is kinda like the Quarter Back in American Football. The really fast guys are the Wingers (11 and 14). ps. Cheslin Kolbe is only 29 years old, he still has a lot of years of rugby left in him.
It's nice to see more people getting interested in rugby!!! Short rugby 101, loosely what numbers do on the field
1 and 3 - Props - They push front row in the scrum
2 - Hooker - He throw the ball in at lineouts. In the old days when balls had to be thrown in scrums between the two opposing hookers he had to try and hook the ball. Nowadays the ball gets thrown in behind the locks' feet
4 and 5 - Locks, the jumpers in lineouts also they lock behind the props and hooker in scrums
6 and 7 - Loose forwards. The bind on the side of the locks and break away for defense or offense
8 - Eighth man - bind in behind the locks in scrums. Often controls the ball when the scrum is going forward or pick up the ball and run
9 - Scrum half - He is behind the scrum, when the ball comes out the scrum he has to distribute it to the back line or make a tactical kick
10 - Flyhalf - Important player on the field, when he receive the ball he have to decide to run the ball to the centers or maybe kick for the touchline to get territorial advantage or run himself if the opportunity is there
11 and 14 - Outside backs or wings in some countries - Usually the fastest players in the team to score tries on the outside
12 and 13 - They try and break opponent's back line to create an opportunity to get the ball to the wings or carry the ball crash ball style to punch through a back line
15 - Full back - The last line of defense and also used in attack as an extra man in the back line. He often kick long kicks for territory when he receive the ball from opponents kicks.
Positions such as 4 and 5, 6 and 7 and 12 and 13 have different roles off course to each other
That is more or less what they do. Rugby gurus..... please don't kill me for trying to explain it as short as possible to someone new to rugby😁😁
And 16 to 23 are the bench (replacements)
Grant Williams fastest scrum half ever. He is still. Young same as Moody who is only 20yrs old
Ok let’s me educate you on the points in rugby wc:
Win is 4 points
Draw is 2 points
Loss is 0 points
4 or more tries scored : 1 offensive bonus point
Defeat by 7 points or less: 1 defensive bonus point
What the hell you talking about win is 4 draw is 2 stop telling lie’s misleading people damn ass.
Cheslin Kolbe still plays and he's playing the world Cup 2023.
Siya toer his ACL about 5 months ago. He recovered and is playing.
He is the first black captain for Springboks and the only Captain to have raised the world cup twice.l. He is humble and an amazing leader
Rugby is not about size its about heart.
Size sure do help.
@@rynoburger1780depending on your position sure
The clip with Manie in blue jersey is his provincial team, Stormers.. Blue and Gold (Springbok) is when he plays for his country
Blue and Gold? Really?! Green and Gold.
@@Alias-gy3tz oops
Eben Etzebeth No4... nicknamed The Enforcer
Elizabeddddf😢!!!!
Marholm Marx is one of the strongest players in his upper body. He is able to take a ball out of the opposition arms.
In South Africa , rugby is our life.
We have a saying our blood is green like the jerseys of the Bokke.
Siya Kolisi is our ( South Africa) captain. Plays 8 in the forwards.
Nope. Plays 6. Hasn't played 7 or 8 in a while. Not sure he's ever played 8 for the Boks actually 🤔
@@nox6885I think he played 8 off the bench at the start, not sure
He looks like a king. Oh yes he is the king. The captain
Kolisi!!! My Captain, My Captain. The gent is an inspiration.
The Hooker (2) hooks the ball with his leg in the scrum. The scrum a kind of phalanx where 8 players push against the opposition 8.
The forwards,1-8 make up the scrum. Front row(1,2,3) = prop, hooker, prop(they prop up the scrum).
2nd row(4,5) are the locks ( they are the hydrolic force that lock out the scrum).
Back row(6,8,7) are the loose forwards, they keep the scrum tight but need to be able to break away in a split second.
The Hooker also throws in at line outs , while the locks tend to jump for these throws( also the loose forwards. ) Any one of the 8 can support (lift) the jumpers but generally it's the props.
The Boks have massive depth with multiple world class players in the same position, and many players able to cover more than 1 position.
Please keep watching rugby, listen to the commentators and you'll learn as you go! Everyone is welcome in rugby, there is a position for all types!
Enjoy!
4:58 A player is 'down' once their knees are on the ground, how they can get back up is simple. They let go off the ball, get off the ground and pick the ball back up and start running.
Siya Kolisi is the SA Captain, and he's also playing the 2023 Wolrd Cup
Curtley and kolbe look the same because they both wingers 11 and 14. They both where scrum caps that is why a lot of people say they look the same.
Kwagga Smith is a 7's and 15th player which makes him and extremely versatile player. He is our shorted 8th men but he is very good. Kwagga is also his nickname.
Rugby do have rules to make it safer for players but hey this is a man's games and woman but not a game for people that is scared of being tackled
Cheslin kolbe was a doubtful starter due to injury, but managed to recover fitness in time for selection
10:08 The stuff that happens after a tackle is called a ruck, its where both teams after the ball carrier has been tackled engage in a pushing contest to gain the ball for their team.
Some of the highlights are defending players stealing the other team's ball from the ruck. A lot of the highlights for Malcolm Marx were of him stealing the oppositions ball at the ruck.
We born and breed for Rugby. ❤
Rugby tackles are generally safer precisely because we don't have head protection. Helmets create a false sense of security and people hit harder because of that. That said, rugby does have conussions and concussion protocols
There's more head injuries in American football than there is in rugby. A study proved that due to you guys wearing all that heavy equipment it actually makes the head on collisions more lethal as you guys take little care due to the false sense of safety the equipmentsequipment gives to the players, whereas in rugby your mind will still tell you to take care when youre playing
Please react to Bryan Habana, the fastest Rugby player ever
A lot of all Blacks could catch Habana , but just about none of them can catch Colby
Habana was at the time one of the fastest but not the fastest, Kolbe is faster, and Moodie is the fastest springbok ever
Nice Nice Reaction man, FYI depending on the game between Ireland and Scotland we might be seeing New Zealand and SA playing on the 15th Oct, also, yes they are all still playing, but 14:00 Marx is out for this RWC and Handre Pollard came back, please check him out. also we have Moodie, Kolbe, and Arendse all in the team. Goo Bokke 🇿🇦
4:34 Centres are bascially the running backs in a way. Theyre job are to get their team over the gainline by any means necessary, whether that means by carrying (Like in Andres case) or by play making and being a secondary facilatator of the offense (As in Owen Farrel case, another centre/fly half player from England.) Which is why alot of centres are these big powerful players.
Head contact gives a yellow card, which gets reviewed to see if it doesn't get upgraded to red.
So it is very strictly policed and has costs key players to not play in games. And you dont want to be a man down for a game, or have your captain out for 5 games.
All Blacks vs SpringBoks IS the biggest rivalry in rugby.
Also, really enjoy Ur Rugby Reaction-Vids & hope to see more!!!
I also love it that you are interested in rugby. Greetings from South Africa
I love sports and learning about rugby and the tradition and love for the sport i see people have makes my love it even more
You can't play the ball on the ground. You must release (called day light) and then pick-up and continue.
Double move ment is when you use your arms or legs to move forward while on the ground. If it is your body's momentum you may place the bal in the movement.
South Africa vs All Blacks
Is the biggest Rugby Rivalry EVER
7:15 Fly half is the play maker and general. They make major decisions in how the team should operate
Tackle only occurs when ball carriers knees are on the ground in contact. Otherwise they can drive toward the line. As soon as the tackle happens the player can place the ball to score a try in single last move. Otherwise he starts playing ball on the ground and gives away penalty..
Cheslin to young to retire. He just play at overseas club.
Quarter finals 1
SA vs France
Quarter final 2
Ireland vs New Zealand
Quarter 3
England vs Figi
Quarter 4
Wales vs Japan
Kholisi is flanker nr 6. SA captain the best and the most grounded person you will ever meet
Players 1 and 3 are props... the powermen or 1st rowers in the scrum. No2 the hooker.. also a front rower hooks the ball in the scrum and is set between the props in the scrum. The hooker also throws the ball in at a line-out.
4 and 5 are 2nd rowers or locks... the big tall guys... the engines of the scrum and jumpers in the line-outs. The backrow consists of the 6, 7 and 8 jerseys and are normally big and mobile. 1 to 8 is considered forwards.
The backline is from 9 to 15.
9 being the halfback or scrumhalf.. puts the ball into the scrum and is normally the first playmaker from a breakdown or setpiece. 10 is the flyhalf .. the general on the field.. like a quarterback. The centres are 12 and 13.. normally your bigger backline players to break the gainline and are midfield defenders. The wingers are 11 and 14... the finishers and pace men. The fullback no 15 is the last line of defence and the playmaker or ace up the sleeve from the back and can interject into a set play to disrupt defensive lines from the opposition.
You react to anything 🇿🇦I subscribe period ❤
Ireland would probably beat scotland then it will be ireland vs New zealand one will be knocked out, however i am looking forward to a Springbok vs New Zealand final !
lets hope they get past Ireland. i don't think we are safe yet.
Hooker (number 2): Hooks the ball with his foot in the scrum.
Contesting for the ball with his foot.
He hooks the ball and sends it to the back of the scrum.
He also normally throughs the ball in, in a “line out”
It's all down to the tackling rules that prevent concussions. No hits above the shoulder and always tackle in a manner to prevent injury to the opposing player.
Wish i could just sit you down for half an hour and explain everything. Go Bokke
haaaaaaaaaa i'm rady
Rural area*
This is the best reaction video I have ever seen
if they tackle you and you go to the ground the ball is dead so before you get up to run again you have to put the ball down then pick it up so when tackled by other team they must make sure to have players at the tackle to take the ball
It might've been answered but if you the tackler dont hold the player after tackling then they are allowed to get up and continue. Once you are tackled and the tackler holds on, you have to release the ball.
The Aussies culturally appropriated the Springboks colours. The Bokke have always been green and gold
Our blood is green and gold
Technique.....its
Preventing most injuries.... Rules are also changed a lot to protect players
Here still high off our RWC WIN! Go Bokke!!!
They kick the ball to the side line as close as possible to their try line when they win a penalty but they can choose scrum, kick to the sideline or tap and go or kick for goal
New subscriber i really enjoyed your video
Yay! Thank you!
Cheslin Kolbe played yesterday against France.
The lineup in the quaters will probably be:
1. Steven Kitshoff
2. Bongi Mbonambi (Marx injured)
3. Frans Malherbe
4. Eben Etzebeth
5. Franco Mostert/RG Snyman
6. Siya Kolisi (Captain)
7. Pieter-Steph Du Toit
8. Jasper Wirse/Duane Vermeulen
9. Cobus Reinach/Faf De Klerk/Grant Williams
10. Manie Libbok/Handré Pollard
11. Cheslin Kolbe
12. Damian De Allende/Andre Esterhuizen
13. Jesse Kriel/Lukhanuo Am
14. Kurt-Lee Arendse/Canan Moodie
15. Damian Willemse
Colours for Springboks are green and gold ... not yellow❤
Most South Africans start playing Rugby by the age of 5, till about 36 , like i did, but never profecional
Your cool man I'm going to subscribe 😅
The player must be held in the tackle to ensure that he can’t move as for reaching out a player can reach out as long as it is one movement if it 2 then it will not be allowed.
Springboks and all blacks has the most rugby world cups
Cheslin Kolby cousin is Van Niekerk 400m world record holder.. Now you know speed is in the family
Thanks for the interest bro 😃
I'M ALL IN
Yes there were better angles for the Libbok kick, from behind the posts, it's all about angles.
All players shown is in the squad, not all are first string selection tho. Also, game plan dependent if they get selected or not.
Andre Esterhuizen has 2 nicknames: 1) Andre the Giant... for obvious reasons 2) Agent of Chaos... for more obvious reasons
You get good, better, best, Malcolm Marx
When you are tackled the tackled knee touches the ground. He may only make one last body movement
You dont get downs in rugby
All south Africans or Springboks are big they big people in general
KINGS
my guy why would you think kolbe is retired? he is still young
I love the way they describe RG
Kwagga Smith (Albertus Stephanus Smith) - Kwagga is a nickname, taken from the Afrikaans name for the quagga, an extinct subspecies of the plains zebra.
0:56 south africa colours are green and gold. Australia is mainly yellow
a tackle becomes a ruck, the offensive team then has to toss the ball usually the num 9 will do that. the game is kept fluid. we dont really have downs in Rugby union
When you are tackled and held, you need to let the ball go but when you are tackled but not held, you can carry on forward
Australian kits are yellow with green details and South African kits are green with yellow details 💚💛
William Ryder check this young Figi player , NZ here played rugby
Grant williams is fast but his acceleration is next level
Fly half is number 10. He is the play maker, the penalty kicker and try converter. Although can run and score try as well.
Unfiltered Masculinity. Shout Loud for the BOKS💪🏉💪👌😍
Ball stays in play so long as a number of rules and enfrindgments are adhered to. No ball handling errors etc. Refree observes ball abd play at all times abd can call back a penalty once a phase of play stalls.
Best look up World Rugby abd IBR rules sbd regulations. Player safe has become more driving factor over the years with changes to the rules, to ensure safer play but it's still a very physically brutal sport 😊❤😊
'back row' = the loose forwards = 6, 7, 8. The back row of the scrum.
'Hooker' hooks the ball with his foot when it's put in at the scrum
The better angle of the Libbok penalty is from behind the goals
Qwa-Ga {kwagga - Albertus Stephanus } Quagga - Kwagga is Zebra subspecies
If a player is tackled and still on his feet he may 'break' the tackle and proceed, if he is tackled and go to ground, he must place the ball for his team to recover, or he may place the ball take his hands off it, recover it and proceed. Usually if he is tackled and go to ground, he places the ball, and a Loose scrum or Ruck is formed and then the two teams just fight it out for the ball. -From South Africa.
Yeah NFL is game for boys Rugby is a brutal game for real high pain tolerance man.😂
It's the quarter finals in world cup.. France against South Africa(Springboks) , Nz(All Black's) against Ireland, the rest of the teams still playing
You get 4 for a win, 2 for a tie, Then you get a bonus point if you score more than 4 tries and loose with less than 7
Green and Gold - Springboks. Go Bokke!
It's green and gold
This was a very good reaction liked it
You're a prophet SA Vs New Zealand 😂 it's a big one!!!!
Concussion happens...but it is second nature to swing the head in the right way. There are strict rules when even touching the head with the wrong movement.
No 1 is loose head prop, no2 is hooker, no 3 is tight head prop, no4 is no 4 lock, no 5 is no5 lock, no 6 is openside flanker, no7 is is blindside flanker, no 8 is eighthman, no 9 is scrumhalf, no 10 is flyhalf, 11 is left wing, 12 is inside centre, 13 is outside centre 14 is right wing 15 is fullback.
you get a back row and a back line (back row is still in the front thou) but back line is from 9-15
The game does not stop until someone has scored or there is a penalty.
