Whos loving the Motion Graphics Templates???? I've heard so many good comments about them and I'd love to see how your using them so post some clips on Twitter and tag me in them!
I'm a big fan. One thing that I would love would be the ability to adjust the size (of some of the shapes) either horizontally or vertically independent of each other.
Great tips, can I ask you this: could you show us behind the scenes how you move the camera for whip transitions, I’m having problems controlling the the camera, after every whip, I would like to see how you do it. Thanks for the info you post every week!
The 1dxii has got to be hands down the nicest looking 120fps camera currently in a DSLR / mirrorless. GH5 looks good but something about the 1dxii just looks so good.
Since getting the Sony A7iii I've joined the 120 club and have been a little obsessed with it! I haven't done much video work before but it's so much fun! Thanks for all your amazing tips.
I need to get in that 120 club! When slowing down in post, what's the best way to slow it down and use warp stabilizer. I often get warp stabilizer errors. (Shooting 60fps with canon 6d mark ii)
you cant go crazy with the warp stabilizer percentage or it is more prone ot having errors. also if you are not interpreting your clip as 24fps when it was shot at 60 then nesting the clip you could get errors as well from my experience
These great tips are golden especially for someone like me who’s aiming to try my hand at filmmaking this year! You got my heart pumping dude! Thanks so much! 🤩
Thank you Matti!!! You are the BEST at this! Thank you for helping all of us to know more. I just got the Fuji XT-3 so super excited to try to do better. You Inspire! 🙌🏻
@@mattih the XT3 only does 120fps @ 1080p, while 4k is capped at 60fps. What would you suggest? 1) film everything @1080p or 2) film at 4k24 and somehow blend /scale 1080p120 or c) everything 4k and use 4k60 and fake the 120 slowmo?
I'm excited to learn speed ramping. But I ended up with 6D mkii for my DSLR. So 120 fps means going over to iPhone at 1080p for me. But I should try 60 fps on the 6D and see how that feels. Mostly I just think of 60 fps as "video style".
ReallY amazing to watch all your videos! This one in particular. Never did filming before, so it never made sense. But trying to film more and this is super helpful all those tips! Thank you!!

This is a great tutorial Matti! LOVE IT! Sometimes in my videos I went way too far with the warp stabilizer and I got some strange footage. Maybe you can make a tutorial on how to properly use the warp stabilizer and how changing every parameter will give you a different result :)
If I am shooting birds in movement as I am using 300mm lens, do i have consider the lens into factor as handheld it cause alot of blur in focusing unless it is stationary bird then I can shoot at 1/120 sec. what is advise as I am confuse.?
Great video once again man! Totally killing it. On a side note to your buttery-smooth slo-mo, I have found that a little camera shake actually helps to dramatize the footage, but it definitely needs to be shake that doesn't draw the viewers attention away from the subject. Some of your shots had a little shake and it looked soooo good! Keep up the great work Matti!
Some basic but super important stuff. I find myself constantly forgetting to put warp stabilizer on my 120fps clips lol. Thank you for the info Matti!! :D
What up Matti? I gotta question for u.... if u had to start all over and only had enough $ to purchase 2 lenses, what 2 lenses would be necessary to have in your bag?
@@mattih will definitely be trying it out when doing some sit/mono skiing. I'm becoming more aware of surroundings and thinking of ideas after watching your videos. Just need to incorporate them.
Hey Matti, can you do a comparison between the 120fps on the 1dx mark 2 @1080p and the 120fps on the Eos R upscaled from 720p to 1080p. Maybe a blind test so we have to guess which was shot on which camera!!
Miles Trevelyan-Johnson The 720p 120fps is pretty useless on the R. Looks like garbage. If you can’t tell them apart, you’re blind or need to upgrade your monitor from 1998.
Yes I have a 5dmk4......and it has the same limitations as the Eos R............however you can still manually focus the lens whilst shooting if you have an external monitor attached....or set the focus before hitting record. ua-cam.com/video/pGKY3cxqnKs/v-deo.html. whilst the video may not be up to the 1dk2 quality, its not exactly garbage onced its upscaled properly to 1080, I think its useable if the lighting conditions are good.

Could you possibly use it with final cut pro. Thanks
Was going to buy them last night.. are they compatible with davinci resolve?
I’m glad to hear the explanations of the “why” behind slow motion- that’s important, and I think often overlooked!
Fantastic tips. I honestly only started using 120fps a few weeks ago 🤣 Regretting ignoring it now.
You know? I didn't realize how much of a difference 35mm f1.4 to 85mm f1.8 on slow motion would be. You're the man!

I just went from the Canon T3i to the Sony A7 iii and let’s just say 120 FPS is addicting! Thanks for the great tips Matti!

Amazing video Matti. A great way to refresh some knowledge!

Right click the clip and nest it after slowing down, then you can apply warp stabilizer.
