Gaustatoppen hike | See 1/6th of Norway in this family friendly hike

We climbed to the top of Gaustatoppen to see the most beautiful view of Norway! On a clear day, you can see 1/6th of Norway and we were lucky enough to experience that. Check out this family friendly yet challenging hike 😁
Some tips and practical information:
-Trail start location: Stavsro at maps.app.goo.gl/TMKdzLcW3aUbx..., alternatively, you can start walking from the lower station of Gaustabanen at maps.app.goo.gl/5g6tFkLyJ6P3g...
-Trail end location: maps.app.goo.gl/JB2UC22MRCr9F...
-Parking costs NOK 150 per car (location: maps.app.goo.gl/MvwbXjUeFzHwz..., but we parked for free some 500 meters down the road: maps.app.goo.gl/d9b8tGeb3EmvQ...
-If you don't want to hike up, you can take the underground funicular Gaustabanen (www.gaustabanen.no/) to take you all the way to near the top, and then walk downhill. We saw that most people did it this way.
-There is a cabin near the top where you can spend the night, but be sure to book in advance (gaustatoppen.dnt.no/)
-The best place to stay in the area would be in the town of Rjukan or Miland at the base of the mountain, otherwise there are some options in Tuddal as well
-We camped for free in a scenic location by the fjord with some toilet facilities, location: maps.app.goo.gl/86VpUfvVVXCyt...
-At the start of the trail at Stavsro there is a cafe for some refreshments (maps.app.goo.gl/RDp2c7pFQ8tD1...)
-At the upper station of Gaustabanen near the top of the mountain there is a cafe at the mountain cabin (maps.app.goo.gl/M3ccTi481kaDJ...)
